They have a wide selection of normal-looking frames, as well as more distinctive choices that the staff will be excited to show you. It's worth stopping in if you want some choices that you won't be able to find elsewhere. My left eye is -6, my right eye is -4, and I have strong astigmatisms in both eyes too. Mintze, my optician, set about looking for frames that had adequate support for the thicker parts of my lenses-to-be. When it came time to pick the coatings, she warned me that the blue light filters would really harm the transmission of the thicker parts of the lens. I appreciated this attention to detail. Really, you're coming to Madison Eyes because you want a neutral person's appraisal for how the frames look on you, and because you want greater selection. It's definitely not cheap to buy glasses here. But it's worth it for making the most of my sight, my most important sense. I'm posting photos of my top two choices from this year. Vote for the one that looks better on me!

Customer service is good, although there's been instances where some of the ladies behind the desk (some time ago) seemed rather short in their attitudes and it came across as rude. Needless to say, that was not my experience this time around, which was nice. The doctors are knowledgeable, take their time, and of course you get freebies. The wait time is 5-10 min, even if you have an appointment. This place is not for someone who is on a budget. It IS expensive, even after insurance. But like I mentioned before, you get a nice selection to choose from. Plenty of parking around the plaza, easy to get to. Recommend.

They have books arranged by color in the wall which I find infuriating by promise that doesn't factor into the review. Maybe a bit. Anyways they have a wide variety of reasonably priced frames arranged in a very aesthetically pleasing way. And they are all named after people for some reason. I hope it is after the first person who buys each design. I think that would be fun. Or the designer is a weird stalker and he follows people home and looks at their mail and then names glasses after them. Maybe takes a souvenir like grass clippings. Or goes through their garbage. Nothing too weird. Anyways I have had eye exams. My wife has as well. I thought they were fine. I think the glasses are fine but not great. I mean I think you get what you are paying for. Reasonably good glasses. I think there is an option for better progressive lenses. Like regular and then better progressive lenses which cost a little more. Which is weird like regular and extra strength Tylenol. Regular strength. You know, like when you don't want too much relief, and not too fast. Here is my signature Haiku sign off. Warby Parker store Books arranged by color? Dumb. You're a Lens Crafters

A few weeks ago I went to my primary care physician and explained to him some of the things i was experiencing and he recommended i go to an ophthalmologist. Dont have the time to get into the difference between an optometrist and ophthalmologist, but a Google search will explain that for you. The ophthalmologist I saw diagnosed me with intermittent extropia...which had me concerned but I was told "dont worry about it for now" and was given a new prescription that i could take to get frames/lenses. I wont mentioned the opthalmologist's name (he is a highly rated Dr with a good reputation from what i know, I hold nothing against him, I just was looking for something more out of the visit personally)...Which brings me back to today...I went to see Dr Madeline Fernandez who was able to give me a follow up exam and consultation and talk to me further about the intermittent extropia diagnosis. I have been going to I to Eye since I was about 15 or so, from when the shop was at its prior location just down Broad St (the current office is in the old Lucky Jeans location if you are from the area and remember). I am in my early 40s now...so the office being in Town so long tells you that this business has the support and trust of the community...Primary reason i went to another doctor was based on the recommendation i got from my primary but going to Dr Fernandez to talk to her...i walked away feeling relieved, educated, and confident that my corrective lenses are going to address my problems. She took the time to explain prism lenses to me and progressives which I will be using going forward. The office and optical boutique has plenty of brands and styles to choose from. Arnell and another gentleman (I dont remember his name) helped me pick out my new frames. Arnell was sitting behind a desk and told the other associate "Why dont you show him the Tom Ford glasses with the clip"...Arnell has a great sense of style and knows what I like based off the frames I have now and historically have purchased...he even commented "these frames are very engineer like" which made me chuckle because it was cool that even though I havent been to the office in a few yrs, he still remembers my profession. I absolutely love my new frames and i am excited to get them. Dr Fernandez and Arnell are not only professional but great, kind people/human beings. They just have a calming/relaxed temperament. If you are originally from the area/Westfield you know how often businesses open and close in a short period of time...I am happy that I to Eye has stood the test of time and that I have place I can trust. Having great doctors (such as Dr Fernandez), a great mechanic, a great tailor, and a great go-to local restaurant...just give you a feeling that cant be taken for granted. This review for I to Eye is well overdue. If you need an eye exam or just want to get some stylish frames this is the place to visit!

I made an appointment last week after realizing I was nearly out of contact lenses. When I arrived, I was given paperwork to fill out, including a form indicating an optional $49 "Optos" exam, so I opted out of it, not wanting to pay an extra elective fee. Within moments of the paperwork being delivered to the back, a woman came out and demanded to know why I'd declined the exam. I told her why, she asked if I wanted "dilation," without explaining this was the alternative and what these procedures were for and why they were necessary. I said no, I didn't. Her next statement was an annoyed, "Then we can't see you." I was surprised and tried to ascertain why, but she kept interrupting me, wouldn't explain and then yelled, "You've been here before!" Like I remember what happens at an appointment I go to once every year or two lol. I was stunned. I again tried to understand why she'd brought up dilation, then said I would do it if one or the other - dilation or Optos - was required. But was that enough? Oh, no, it wasn't. Then Dr. Seiler came out and said I was the second person in three years who had requested dilation "because everyone else understands you need Optos." Okaaaay. He said I wouldn't be able to see/focus for 6-8 hours with dilation, which I can't do because I need to work today. I made the point that if they need one or the other in order to see a patient, then they need to be up front, when someone makes an appointment, that there is a mandatory - not optional - $49 fee. Or I tried to make that point but Dr. Seiler kept cutting me off and wouldn't let me speak, finally stating that my options were, "One, get the optos. Two, do dilation. Three, leave, because I'm done talking about this." I said I needed to think about it, and he replied, "In that case, it'd be better if you leave and don't come back." You can bet I won't be coming back, and you can bet I'll be writing a review! FYI, for anyone else looking for an eye exam: HC Deuchler across the street offers a $25 optional eye health exam (similar to Optos) that is actually optional. I made an appointment there instead.
