Walked in off the street to to have my sunglasses straightened out after sitting on them; they were bent pretty bad. Last month, my eyeglass arm was broken while running. I live in Manhattan and showed it to few optical stores like LensCrafters, Sears Optical and some local ones but all of them refused to repair it and told me it is irreparable. My backups (old prescription) were giving me headaches and what not. So, I googled about some places in NJ (within 20 miles) and found Eye Q opticals based on its rating. Decided to come here after office and right now I am going back to Manhattan with my repaired glasses and that too for a very nominal price of $10. Dr. Harry is really a gem of a person. Went into his lab and told me it's repairable. Didn't do any tantrums like you should buy another eyeglass. Real doc fix-it if I may say. We need more docs like you in Manhattan! Today I went in as a walk in because my boyfriend broke his nose piece entirely. It had to be welded on. I found Eye Q through Google because some reviews said that he does welding for glasses because that was the only way my boyfriend's glasses were going to get fixed. Harry was super helpful from the start. There was a lady that started out nicely, but was a bit rude when she pointed us to Harry. But overall, I had a great experience. Harry fixed my boyfriend's glasses in 2 hours! And he even gave us directions to the Short Hills mall for the time we had to wait. Just returned home from having Harry at Eye Q put new progressive lenses in two pairs of glasses for me (sunglasses and regular glasses). Harry is the best and it was a truly wonderful experience. I have been putting off getting new lenses for a number of years. The last pair I had made (at a place in Summit) were unbelievably expensive and the lens wiggled in the frame from the moment I picked them up--and continued to be a problem even after I went back to have them corrected. AND, they needed to take my glasses from me and it took them about 4 days to get the glasses ready. So I was not excited about the prospect of no glasses for 4 days. I labored over what to do . Should I buy another pair of glasses so I have a pair while the other pairs are being repaired? Do I wear dark glasses until the regular glasses have the new lenses? I went to Eye Q after looking at on line reviews. I handed Harry my prescription and showed him my glasses and waited for him to give me the bad news on the price. When he gave me the number I was very confused! It was half as much for the lenses than I paid many years ago. I said, "do you mean for one pair of glasses?" and he said "no, that's for two pairs, would you like me to charge you more?" And then I said well when should I come back for them and Harry told me to take the glasses with me--he would be able to place the lenses in the frames once he had the lenses in the shop. I again was confused, "are you kidding me?" Today I went in, I don't know what he did in the back of the shop but he clearly finished off the lenses and placed them in the frames. Both pairs are fabulous. I could not be happier and at long last I can see again! The lens quality seems great, the prices are amazing, and Harry doesn't need to take your glasses from you and hold on to them (well at least that worked for my script). Harry is also a really nice guy, fun to talk to and clearly knows what he is doing! His prices are so reasonable that I am contemplating at long last getting that spare pair of glasses! Never in my life have I experienced this sort of help getting eye glasses. Let me start off by saying that I have a -16 prescription. -16, people!!! I haven't replaced my glasses in over 10 years because i'm completely embarrassed to wear my current pair. My eyes look small, the lenses look thick, and the style is completely out of fashion. I went to EyeQ at the recommendation of a friend, and what a pleasant surprise. The owner, Harry, knew exactly what frames I needed to create the perfect look and make my lenses as thin as they can be. I had written less than a handful of reviews but felt Eye Q Opticians should get one. My family have been getting glasses at Lenscrafters for years and they have been good. Also, thought prices with promos were okay. Recent years, staff changed a lot and selections weren't so good. Visited Eye Q due to other positive reviews, but was concerned about possible Millburn store prices. Found Harry was very pleasant and knowledgeable, selections very up-to-date and prices were doable. So far, purchased two pairs, but definitely, my go to for future glasses/sunglasses. He fixed my sunglasses so fast! I've had a pair of expensive sunglasses just sitting in my closet for the past few years because they were missing the little rubber nose piece and the side came unscrewed. Just thinking if I took them to the original store I bought them from years ago, they would have to ship them to fix and also charge me, so I never got around to it. I stopped in to take a look at some frames while I was waiting for a friend. I had already been to several places and the lenses I required were terribly expensive. Two of the places I had gone to were larger chain stores. I couldn't find anything I liked and ultimately the complete pair I got at EyeQ were the same price as the lenses only elsewhere! While cost is important so is service and Harry outshined them all! He worked with me to find an incredible frame and he considered my likes and dislikes while sharing his knowledge. LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! I recently purchased a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses with custom made prescription lenses. The service was amazing! The owner walked me through the process and helped me create my specialized lenses. My glasses were ready within 5 days. They are perfect and I love the fit, quality and style. Also, I saved about $400 dollars compared to a few other stores in the area for the same glasses and prescription lenses. The store has many designer brands of high quality. It is very clean.
