Given that these are sports goggles and we are in the middle of sports season, this information would have been important to know upfront. On Tuesday, I called after being told that the lenses had arrived. I was told someone would call me the next day when the goggles were ready. Wednesday came and went with no call. By Friday, still no call, so I called because I actually need the goggles for the season. Unfortunately, the customer service during that call was incredibly rude and unhelpful. The employee put me on hold for more than five minutes, then came back and asked, essentially, "Are you sure you're calling the right place?" Yes--I was. She then hung up on me. When I called back, I was sent to voicemail. I called again about 10 minutes later, and eventually spoke with the same employee I had spoken with on Tuesday. I was then told that the manager wanted them to explain that there is only one person who can complete the job and that person is only there once a week, so "we'll see what we can do." That is not an acceptable way to handle a customer who has already spent more than $400 with your business and a returning customer. If there are staffing limitations or only one person qualified to complete the work, that should have been clearly communicated when the order was placed--or at the very least when the lenses arrived. I really wanted to support a local business, which makes this experience especially disappointing. Delays happen, but the lack of communication, poor customer service, and dismissive attitude toward my concerns were unacceptable. Unfortunately, I will not be returning, and that's a shame because I would have preferred to continue supporting a local business.

Honestly I went once over a year ago (oops...maybe I should go back. Gotta see if she takes my new job's health care) but the point is she would be where I'd start for another appointment. I can't really go into specifics since it's been a while. And I've had a few eye doctors over my life so she did everything I expect in an exam. It was a good exam, I got what I needed, the office looked nice and clean, there was enough room for parking. I also like that she has a couple of late nights and weekend appointments. Parking in the area can be challenging, but luckily there is a huge (free) parking lot behind their building that made access very easy from two different streets. The store was full on both Saturdays when I visited, but I was happy to wait if it meant getting my hands on the goods. Their selection is unique and largely consists of designers I had never even heard of before. Once I was seated, their optician (Utenzi) and others spent a lot of time focused on me despite the line. After asking what my preferences were, they pulled several options they thought would complement my facial features and complexion. They continued to rotate out and introduce new options based on my feedback. I honestly did feel like I was receiving professional stylist advice, which meant a lot to me. Let me just say that visitors should set their expectations appropriately before heading over. This is a boutique small business that provides quality product, personalized service, and expert knowledge. It was reasonable to me that those things would come at the expense of wait time and price, but may not be ideal for everyone. In the end, I went with frames that were handmade in France ($475 before insurance). I did comparison shop and couldn't find them anywhere else online within the United States. Even on international websites, the price was about the same. I don't switch frames often, so it was important to me that the quality was very reliable. Six months later, I am still very satisfied with my purchase and have had no issues. I highly recommend Elegant Eyes to anyone looking to add a standout accessory to their wardrobe. Enjoy!
