I went in for a routine eye exam. Everything went smoothly. The only con I have is that the optical shop didn't take my insurance but the office did. I came with my own glasses. I'm waiting to get them back. I will update this review then. read more

I had an incredible experience and the staff is I'm super nice. I loved working with the doctor.

Horrible place to work and to be seen as a patient. You're going to pay for unnecessary testing if you're looking to have your cataracts removed. Testing is a no charge if you go to a normal business that doesn't try to rip off their patients. Their retirement plan is in the owners name and you can't call to find out any information about the plan. He is the trustee, so when he fires you he can take all of that money back for himself. The owner is also on the spectrum so when things don't go his way expect to deal with toddler like temper tantrums. read more

If you don't like surprise bills, avoid this practice. I went in for a basic eye exam and was instead billed hundreds of dollars for a specialist visit. The office staff were unresponsive and rude when I tried to fix the issue. read more

Horrible. My dad had cataract surgery. They NEVER TOLD US he needed post operation eyedrops. So for 10 days, his eyes were itchy and we were never informed of this even though I went to the postop appointment and I follow directions by the book. Completely unacceptable and all they did was say, "I'm sorry." Do not go to this doctor ! read more

horrible experience. go anywhere else !! they administrative team is a disaster. Will not get back to you , doctor was a prick, and they aren't willing to work with you in any way shape or form if it doesn't fit what's best and easiest for them. Go to Morristown Op. Much better team there read more

Really messy experience. Read the other reviews. Mine won't be much different. I was there for 2 hours and saw the dr for 7 minutes. Meanwhile they told me some nonsense how i have 2 different insurance plans so they can't do medical and vision on the same day. I was truly NOT impressed. read more

Awful experience with the billing department. Charged me out of pocket even though one of my insurance would cover for the contact lenses material directly. Endless back and forth and still trying to get out of the mess they created. Definitely not recommended and I will not use them anymore. read more

I've been seen at this establishment for over 20 years and it's best. There innovative and on top of the last cutting edge treatments for any eye issues. Differently recommend for any ages. read more

The only reason I started going to short Hills ophthalmology is because my amazing ophthalmologist retired and transferred my file to this practice. I can honestly say this was one of the worst experiences that I've ever had. Not only do they rush you through so many tests on the first day, they quickly diagnose you with some thing that only procedure that is out-of-pocket can fix. The doctor barely spends five minutes with you. My prescription had to be changed twice. The front desk staff is very rude. I ordered glasses online and the company tried to verify my prescription with them and they never called them back. I called initially twice and nobody returned my phone call I had to call a third time and finally someone said that they would fax the prescription two days later find out that the prescription was never received. I called again to speak with the front desk staff. They put me on hold for over 10 minutes, came back on the phone and was very rude. They told me they faxed it with no fax confirmation number given as proof and then told me that they could email it to me and never did. I have yet to receive the prescription and it's been over a week. On top of all of this, they tell me my eyeglass prescription is 2 years old. How is that possibly when I saw him twice in 2 months and had my vision checked. If you don't have any procedures that are out of pocket that your insurance plan does not cover they lose interest in you. It's so unfortunate that this fully staffed practice can't even provide good customer service. My last ophthalmologist had one receptionist and she was kind, compassionate, very sweet and always willing to help. You can tell when a practice loses sight of meeting patients' needs and only cares about making money. Don't waste your time going here. read more

No one take calls! Eye examed there for 5 years and they can not verify my insurance this year? I had nothing changed in my insurance! I told them I will get my insurance card in 5 mins since I live nearby. They insist ed to cancel my app and reschedule it! I do believe I will get the charge from them even they did not even do the exam! The same experience as Henry Z. read more

Came to see doctor today after couple of years. Check in and collection of co-pay was quick and efficient. Things went downhill from there. Arrived for a 9.15 appointment at 9.20 and did not get called to see doctor for another 1.5 hours! Spoke to receptionist who was curt and dismissive. Will not be coming here again and would have left but for the fact that they have my $40 co-pay! It's like a factory and they don't care about patients. Just asked for a refund of my co-pay and I'm out of here. Don't come here! read more

You definitely want to avoid this Group. All cheaters and liars! They always found ways to over charge patients as well as insurance companies. I heard these before in disbelief until now it happened to myself. First, no receptionist answers calls at any time to answer your questions. Once became a patient, they bothers all the time. Second, I went there to check my eyes because this place took my insurance in august 2018. The doctor was later on that day. Afterwards, the doctor instructed the receptionist to schedule another appointment for one year later. When I hesitated, the woman told me to set it up and I can cancel it at any time. But when I called to cancel, they never called back, only to charge me for no show fee although I have their texts they received my calls. Now they kept sending me bill and adding "later" fees. What is more outrageous is, however, they charged my insurance as if I went to their clinic this year! Can you believe these shit? STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! Or I guarantee you will regret later! read more

My regular Ophthalmologist merged with this group so I figured I would get a fresh start and see his partner Dr. Farbowitz and I was very pleased. Now my entire family sees him. Nice atmosphere and all new equipment. Staff is wonderful too! read more

Dr. Farbowitz is an incredibly personable and knowledgeable ophthalmologist. He takes the time to answer your questions in a way you can understand. The office is clean and the staff is approachable and responsive. read more

I go there for my exams and also purchase my contacts from there. The person I speak with is very helpful and polite. There prices are not that bad some cheaper than 1800contacts. The office setting is clean and it doesn't hurt that I can have a nice cup of tea or coffee while I wait.! read more

My wife had a cataract surgery with doctor Farbowitz this April. Everything was done very professionally. The staff was friendly. The result was excellent, no complications or complaints. Highly recommend. read more

Stay away from Short Hills Ophthalmology. As soon as you walk into their office, they ask you for your credit card. They say that's their standard office policy. This is as good as handing them your wallet. I found out on my next credit card statement that they had charged me without telling me. I called them and they said they had performed services that were not covered by my insurance. I said I did not authorize or agree to any services that are outside of my insurance coverage. Furthermore, my insurance has always covered the same services that my previous doctor performed, but unfortunately he retired. The lady at their billing department was very hostile and even dared me to take them to court to get my money back, and she said they win every time. I also found Dr. Farbowitz to be egotistic and arrogant. He dresses up flamboyantly like a big shot and then belittles you. He gets upset when you ask him questions about the work he just did on you. Definitely not a pleasant place to go to. This place is all about making money. They care less about the patients. Go someplace else. read more
