The eye exam itself is time consuming but I like my eye doctor in this practice. She's thorough and explains how to maintain your eye health such as not wearing contact lenses in certain conditions, not wearing them too long, UV protection sunglasses, etc. The staff are professional and work with your schedule. My doctor has early morning and evening hours. All in all, a good place. Parking is limited but I do manage to get a spot. read more

This review comments are for patients that come for annual check up and contact lenses prescription. Be aware that this office will charge you $75 for fitting despite that my insurance fully covers eye exam for glasses and contacts. For the associate who was lecturing me that I should know my insurance coverage- read above and do your homework better, my insurance covers examination for both glasses and contacts unless the office like yours don't do their work properly and charge extra 75 bucks! I assume for a pair of lenses I don't know what the fitting means - I wear lenses for 20+ years not sure you can teach me anything new? Office manager and a few other associates argued the fees must be paid before I can get an updated contact lenses prescription. Although the doctor gave me already a pair of contacts the office manager kept saying doctor has to perform additional testing - my question is if she gave me lenses didn't she already determine my prescription?!!?? Upon arrival I was given papers to sign and one of the document was actually describing the definition of non medical visits which covers examination, glasses and contacts prescriptions. But it said nothing on extra charge that they want you to pay AFTER they performed examination claiming that it was just for glasses. If there is any difference in cost I need to know before the test but not after. The office manager was oriented on the payment not solving the problem/patient care or office reputation. Poor management = poor business. Do not recommend this place unless you want to waist 1.5h in the office and leave with no prescription, and I'm pretty sure they charged insurance for the visit. read more

Office staff are quite rude. Had no problem making an appointment but it took me more than 5 calls and 10 minutes on hold to cancel appointment. They also hung up on me multiple times. Overall, Ive been here several times. Somehow each appointment has taken 2-3 hours and I waited for pretty much 80% of that time. Result was subpar. read more

Office front desk experience is awful. NO Customer service! The service provided by the first person at front desk was unsatisfactory. The lost the referral I gave the last visit which was good for 1 year. The staff claimed it's not on file. Having a referral means that I pay $10 co- pay instead of $20. In 2 visits in 2023, they asked me to pay $10 only. Meaning they have on hand the referral letter which was good for 1 year. They of course insisted they don't have the referral on file ( or should I say they misplaced or lost it). A Manager (lcarnet) intervened. But she has the same attitude as the first staff. NO customer service at all. I told her "a simple apology would have made a lot of difference." And you know what she said" You want an apology, I'm giving it to you now- Sorry " full of sarcasm. Told her I don't need a sarcastic apology but one out of sincerity. That's the kind of service you get from them!!! The only reason I'm staying in this practice is Dr Skraparis who is very professional, knowledgeable, courteous and personable to her patients! I hope Dr Notis reads this review and rectify my complaint. My sister and her family, my friend and her family left this practice for the very same reason- NO CUSTOMER SERVICE!! read more

First time here and was referred by my mom. The center is spacious and clean. I was a few minutes late but I didn't have to wait too long. And the check-in is all online now either at the center or they will text you a link. Everyone was really friendly. Dr. Fuhrman Kerner did my eye check-up and she was very thorough with it. She did eye tests I've never seen before (those were extra steps she took to really know my prescription as my glasses were actually sitting a bit far from my eye). Will be coming back to dilate my eye because that was something she suggested and I was not prepared to do yet since it's going to blur my eyes for a few hours. read more

Office was spacious and clean. Making an appointment was easy and staff member on phone was helpful. I brought my grandmother in and had to have my little one with me. I expected some sort of annoyance from staff or DR but I got the opposite! The assistant was so kind to us and my grandmother who didn't speak English. He spoke Spanish with her and then allowed me and my child to stay in the room to translate for the DR. Dr. Lucia came in and she was fantastic! She included my little in in the exam and made her a special helper. My little one was so happy and she said she wanted to become a Dr just like Dr. Lucia. I was so impressed I will be switching to this office myself. Kindness goes a long way. read more

Hi I love Dr Notis he is a great Dr love his office very clean but I think his floor staff is a no no don't know if is because they to young but is no feeling comfortable in the testing room with them , they're very short, dry,and flat with the answers when you asking a question .... no empathy or compassion from their end ...I'm being going to this office for a long time and every time I go I get new faces younger and younger. Been dealing with eye doctors for over 40 years. Twice have I had as much trouble as I've had here. Once in the mid-90's and now here. I'm on my 3rd re-do of glasses. I don't think this place is evil; the staff and the doctors are nice and have a baseline competence. The problem I perceive is volume. They have a huge volume and they don't take the time they should with difficult RX's. If you have a simple RX, go here. It's convenient, people are nice and you may have to wait a while, but they have two offices so there's more opportunity for appointments. If you have a complicated RX and you've always told your eye docs that your whole life and they've always agreed and paid special attention to your RX, go to those other docs you've stuck with your whole life; stick with people who've gotten the RX right before. read more

This place is painful, PAINFUL, to work with. I've been a patient and the practice is so rude and inconsiderate of their patient's time. A basic yearly exam took over 1.5 hours because the doctor was busy seeing other patients in between my fittings. The front desk staff does not care, doesn't return calls, and I can't get through to them simply to make an appointment and order glasses. I have never seen such an ineffective office environment. I will never be a patient here again. (Oh and I can't even get through to the doctor). Terrible. GO ELSEWHERE. Save your money and time. read more

A while back my husband got a couple ingrown eyelashes (ouch!) and needed to have them removed. Although we've since moved from the Springfield area and don't regularly go to Associates in Eye Care anymore due to distance, he ended up going back to them after the local ophthalmologists he contacted said they didn't do that kind of work. I've been going to this association for about 30 years. I have never had a problem, except when I met with Dr. Notis. He is very well known and I had confidence that he could help me. I was pretty sure my retina had detached and I saw him on a Saturday morning. He looked at my eye and agreed that my retina had detached and that "I would be fine", just come back in SIX WEEKS and see their retina specialist. Everything I read online said you could totally lose your vision in the eye, permanently, if you did not get it repaired. I called a retina specialist in Morristown on that Monday morning and they said they could see me at 10 am that same day. The specialist examined me and said I had three tears and he was going to fix it in a few minutes. So, I had emergency surgery that day. I have since fully recovered and am so happy that I did not listen to Dr Notis. My 6 week appt is today and I cancelled it and told the receptionist how upset I was with the dr. I'm sure my complaint will go nowhere. I would see Dr Skapara, she is excellent, if you decide to use this business. Thank you. In response to Dr.Notis, he told me I had a tear and that I would be fine. I had 20/60 vision in my right eye with many floaters!! There was no way I could drive and live my normal life, much less wait 6 weeks for relief. If you would like to speak with Dr. Lalin, I'd be more than happy to have him speak to you. My eye wasn't going to get better by itself. I needed laser surgery. Thankfully, my eye is perfect now, because of the retinal specialist. read more

I have had more than 6 visits to this center in past eight months due to eye pain. The staffs including doctors are more concerned about scheduling a follow-up visits and conducting numerous tests than prescribing the right treatment. Even after numerous visits including follow-ups and several tests, my eye pain persisted. I visited another eye specialist doctor recently and got the right treatment in just two visits. Their policies with regard to prescriptions (eye exam) and trial fittings suck too. They charge you exorbitant fees and in return you get substandard services. It turns out if they didn't do things right first time, you would have to pay for their mistakes by scheduling another Follow up. I have nothing good to say about my recent experience with Associates in Eye Care. My husband and 2 children use these guys. I tried to call and speak to the doctor about my daughter. I left a message asking the doctor to return my call but instead I got a call from the office staff telling me that the doctor is too busy to speak to me but I could explain my concern to the office staff and somebody would get back to me. I received a phone call back from the office, not the doctor, and I was told again that the doctor didn't have time to talk to me. This is wholly unprofessional. I thought perhaps that I had simply called on an unusually busy day so I waited a few days and tried again. Again, I was not allowed to speak to my daughter's doctor and had to leave messages with the office staff. Clearly we will never use Associates in Eye Care again and I will be make my concerns known when people ask about them going forward. read more
