I cannot say enough great things about my experience with Block & Zuckerman. I purchased several sets of reading glasses and gave them my doctors prescription. When I got them, they had used the prescription from the doctor but, my reading vision was blurry with the new prescription. I said I was very happy with the previous prescription and, without hesitation, they told me they were going to redo all of them. To top that off, I offered to pay whatever the cost was, since it was not their fault, but they said absolutely not, they were not going to charge anything. Honest, Talented, Experienced and Fantastic Taste! I cannot say enough positive things about Ofer and his glasses! I've never enjoyed getting glasses but it's like being in a candy shop and Ofer is the candy man who knows what will look best on your face. I was having real trouble focusing at night, especially when driving. My prescription had changed over the last year, I'm 71, so I returned to B&Z, as I have done multiple times over the last 20 years! I explained my problem at night and Amy suggested a "Digital Progressive Lens". The lenses are digitally matched to your prescription on the back of the lens for more precise focus with far less distortion on the periphery. I added Crizal, something I can't live without anymore, and spent $$$$. Was it worth it? In the daytime, sharpness was improved 3-4%, but the absence of distortion was powerful. At night, the lenses improved my night vision at least 8-10%. With the Crizal there was no flare whatsover and my seeing felt as if the lenses were not there at all. Very nice, I've waited about a month before writing this review because I wanted a full test. These lenses are expensive but I am grateful to Amy every day since. Kind of feels like going from cassettes to cd's back in the day. No, this is not a paid endorsement or phoney review. I figure it was well worth the extra $150 for a 10% improvement in my night vision. I'd do it again read more

Ofer and his staff do a great job. Recently had to have lenses replaced that I originally purchased at one of those "glasses in an hour" places. The anti-glare coating was deteriorating and impacting my vision. I contacted Block and Zuckerman and they took great care of me.They were able to replace my lenses and tighten up my frame and make sure that I was good to go. Webster's dictionary should have a picture of Ofer and B& Z for the phrase "customer focused". Admittedly, I have a hard face to fit. Shopping in the kid's section for frames is frustrating. Ofer did not stop with his existing inventory and took the extra step to contact his vendors requesting they leave their entire product lines over a weekend so that I might find a frame I'd like. Not only did I find a frame I loved, but B&Z took care of lens issues that arose after a few months of wear. They are so welcoming and genuinely care about your glasses experience. High end stuff, with prices to match. But they really do know their business, both frames and lenses, and they take unusual care that everything is just the way it ought to be. In one case, many years ago, I was impressed that they insisted on taking back something I was unhappy with, my own mistaken choice. If you want it done cheap, there's Lenscrafters. I used to get my eyeglasses from Costco because I liked to have a couple pair and could afford them there. I went to Ofer based on a very high recommendation from the CEO of my company, who I KNOW has extremely high expectations. I knew I'd pay more, but I figured, when it comes to my EYESIGHT, I should be taking the proper care and maybe spending a little more than the big box store prices, right? Ofer knew things no Costco eye care employee could ever tell me (or ever DID tell me). Not only did he explain why certain things were happening with my current glasses, but he made sure the same thing wouldn't happen with my next pair. I simply sat there while he pulled frames he thought would compliment my face, hair, complexion, etc. Sorry, but Costco is NOT doing that for anyone! LOL. I loved all that he chose and narrowed my choices down to four. Tried them on for him, and he put them in the order of what looked best based on what I listed above. Sure enough, I chose his #1 and #2 choices. Ofer knows his $hit, no way around it! Not only that, he is the nicest, most customer service oriented individual I've met in a long time. He takes great pride in his business, and the fact that there is a tiny little dog onsite was just a bonus for me!! I will NEVER go anywhere else and I will recommend everyone I know to B&Z! These people know their business! Anne and Amy give warm, personalized service and are never satisfied by less than perfect results. They cannot guarantee that your prescription is correct, but they do make sure that the prescription that you have is correctly prepared.
