The first year after my surgery my eyes were often dry but eye drops always did the trick and I was fine. I rarely get dry eyes anymore. I'm extremely happy with the results, thank you LASIK Vision Institute!

Surgery was great. Dr. Beyer makes you feel as comfortable as possible during the procedure…read more However, the office needs a major overhaul of their process. Be prepared to wait the full 4 hours the day of surgery. I was forgotten about and had to remind the staff I was waiting after 3.5 hours went by. The next day for my follow up appointment at 12pm, I was told it was going to be 20 minutes and that I could wait in my car if I wanted to. Don't know why I'd want to wait in my cold car but my assumption is they say that because their waiting room is completely overcrowded. I was told they close at 1pm, however I did not get checked up on until AFTER 3:30pm for my follow up when my appointment was at 12. This is way after the 20 minutes I was told I would have to wait. Overall, they need to improve their scheduling. Their process is not sustainable and it seems many of the staff are lost, scrambling around reading files trying to figure out what to do. Possibly there's not enough people working for the demand? Anyway, you get your moneys worth as it is cheaper than most places, but expect two days of your life to be dedicated to their full waiting room.

I have a mixed review here since I have not seen Dr. Mostafavi but I have instead seen Dr…read more Polishchuk, his associate for a diagnosis of my suddenly cloudy right eye. Firstly, I want to thank the staff whom are very professional and nice. The ladies that work there are very accommodating. I was given an appointment the next day for which I was very grateful. Dr. Polishchuk dilated my eyes And I've had them dilated before but he seems sort of rough in his manner, not gentle. His diagnosis was partially on point. I should really thank him because of my experience with him which was not all that great and hence I decided to go back to my original surgeon for a second opinion at Columbia Doctors. He did not even question me about driving after my eyes were dilated or wearing sunglasses, like not concerned. Sometimes it's the little things. But in a way it all worked out because I did have at least a provisional ICD 10 diagnosis to be seen more timely by my original surgeon who performed successful (cataract surgery in 2017) on both my eyes respectively. The point is, she actually assessed through more testing that the diagnosis was applicable to both eyes not just the one eye even though it was worse in the right eye. Danielle Trief, MD Assistant Professor at Columbia University Medical Center did much more extensive testing by far. This was a week after I saw Dr. P on Clawson Avenue. At the same appointment she performed a laser procedure which cleared up my entire vision in the right eye which was worse than the left which was the "good eye" now the "bad eye". The procedure was painless and within a few hours I could miraculously see perfect in that right eye. In layman's terms the lens implant needed to be "polished" as this can commonly occur over time. I am going to have the left eye done in two weeks. My point is that unless it's an emergency which was fortunately not the case here, me personally, I would get a second opinion. Was it a major pain in the ass to go into Manhattan? Absolute torture yes, but hey you only have one pair of eyes.

I was not a candidate for LASIK according to some of the diagnostic tests I had gotten. Dr Ray listened to all of my concerns and told me exactly what to expect. Don't shop around for discount prices, these are your eyes and you only get one pair. The office and staff are amazing and Dr Ray is one of the best in the business, I would highly recommend him to anyone interested in an evaluation for corrective options.

What stands out to me is that they are professional but still personable, and they're up on new technology and techniques. I'm also confident in the doctors and technicians who work there, and feel I'm getting the best care whenever I go. The office is housed inside the Atkins-Kent building across from Saint Barnabas Hospital. It's easy to get to by car from 280, but also there are bus routes since it's close to the hospital. There's a large waiting room with ample seating and flat screen TV, but I haven't had to really wait for my appointments and go in when scheduled. In the waiting room, you can also peruse the glasses. Last year, I needed to spend down my HSA money and bought two pairs of glasses and my usual contacts. I remember there were a lot of frames options for me, which isn't always the case. Nice inventory. When you enter the office, you check in with the front desk admin. They've always been friendly when I've gone and also on the phone. Your name is called when it's time to go to the back. Again, never really a wait. We see Dr. Schultz, a great doctor who's knowledgeable and who you can tell keeps current with developments in his field/specialization. My partner has gone to Dr Schultz for over 10 years now; me, about 5 or so. We followed him to this office because, when you find a doctor or healthcare provider you can trust, you stick with them as long as you can! In terms of equipment, I thought the office has some modern devices. Also a few weeks ago, I went in for my annual eye exam and the front desk told me that - as an option - I could go for the optomap retinal exam/Optos retinal imaging instead of the traditional one where you get your eyes dilated. I may consider trying this next time, but it's not covered by insurance, however, you won't have that 4-5 hours of eye discomfort and blurry vision. I thought it was cool they offer this. I recommend Miller Ophthalmology without reservation.
