I came in for a pretty standard vision check-up because my eyes were getting really dry and I was getting headaches in the evening. Dr. David Salz quickly identified the issue and got me set up with a new prescription. By the way, I noticed another reviewer who mentioned long wait times. I only waited ~10 minutes beyond my scheduled appointment time -- and they are super busy, but that's because they are also the best in the area by far. A friend referred me to Dr David Salz after a great experience of her own. I needed cataract surgery, and delayed committing to having it done out of fear. Once I was told my eyesight had deteriorated to the point that I would soon be unable to drive I knew I had to find a surgeon I was comfortable with - it is my eyesight after all. From my first appointment, Dr. Salz and the staff were professional and kind, explaining everything to me and putting me at ease. The surgeries were successful, and he even put stents in my eyes to help reduce the pressure in my eyes due to glaucoma. My eyesight is such that my favorite thing to do is look at the detail of leaves from a distance, something I had not been able to do. I highly recommend Dr. Salz and The Eye Specialists and will continue with this practice. If you need cataract surgery, don't delay - it is SO worth it! My eye doctor told me I needed Cataract surgery and suggested either Dr Alan or David Salz. I called and made an appointment with Dr David Salz and I am so glad I did. He was super nice and gentle and the staff at the Eye Specialist and the Bridgewater Ambulatory surgery center were just top-notch. I chose the Light Adjustable Lens and I am so glad I did. My right eye is more focused on near and the left on far, which luckily my brain works out very well. When I was still wearing contacts I had multifocal lenses for skiing, etc and near the end of the day my would get tired so I would remove my right lens to read, and my brain had no problem with that. I highly recommend the Dr David Salz and the eye specialist facility. I have been wearing glasses/contacts for 57 years and it is so great to wake up and not have to grab my glasses to see. Major medical practice specializing in eye care for older people. The waiting room looks like the Social Security office. Both doctors and staff are professional and friendly. My wife had cataracts which required surgery. These days they have a selection of three replacement lenses. First was the older version which is fixed focus, second was the more modern lenses with customized focus, third was a very new version which can be adjusted using laser light after the surgery. She chose option #2. She is satisfied with the results. Needs to wear sunglasses on very bright days. Better than wearing eyeglasses full time. Needs to use reading glasses for very small print. They might be decent doctors but the place is just rude. Today again I'm still waiting two hours after the so called scheduled appointments. The nurse assistants (like 10 of them) just laugh and say wellll, only one doc today. Everyone waiting says it's always this way. I went in after concern I had an eye infection. I knew it would be a bit of a wait because it was Friday afternoon so that didn't really bother me. Staff was great and polite. However, Dr David Salz was less than pleasant. Checked my eye, said it was fine. I asked about a bump on my eyelash, he quickly dismissed it and walked out. Didn't even say goodbye. It felt like I was on an assembly line. I get that these offices are busy but I guess I've been spoiled by my ophthalmologists in the past who at the very least smiled, asked me how I was and took the time to make sure all my concerns were addressed. It's not that hard to do, and at the very least say goodbye. I mentioned it to the receptionist and she didn't say anything - not that I expected her to but I did want to note that this was not a great patient experience. I'll be looking for a different ophthalmologist even this office is closest. read more

Dr. David Salz is a miracle worker and additionally a compassionate and nice gentleman. He provided excellent vision to my friend who was just about blind from two large cataracts and other eye issues. Both Dr David Salz and Dr Alan Salz are fantastic. They are both very knowledgeable and professional. I had Lasik in May 2018 and have been seeing 20/20 ever since! The staff is wonderful. Everyone is always so nice. They have a great work flow and the staff is very competent. For the Lasik consultation they have it down to a science. You do a few preliminary eye tests with the staff and then watch a video about the procedure. Then Dr Salz comes in, does a few more eye examinations, and goes over any questions you may have. He will then go over the different types of procedures and types of Lasik and what he recommends is best for you. On the day of the procedure, they do more examinations to double and triple check everything. The actual procedure is less than 10 minutes. Dr Salz keeps you at ease and walks you through everything that is going on and what is coming next. Right after the procedure you can see, but everything is a little murky. They put protective eyewear and sunglasses on you. You have to do eye drops every few hours. I took some Tylenol PM which knocked me out for the night. In the morning I was seeing 20/20! You have a follow up appointment the morning after to check in if everything is okay. Overall it was a great experience and I regret I didn't do it sooner. Two visits. Two different doctors. Two $40 copays. Was there for over an hour and a half each time. Doctor was interrupted while I was asking him questions during my second appointment and he never came back. The assistant let me out. I'm amazed at how my concerns about my blurry vision were dismissed and I was allowed to leave. I'm typing this now very blurry and trying to open and close either eye. Impersonal, lacked empathy, and overall a very disappointing visit. Felt like they just took my money and tried to get rid of me ASAP. I saw Dr. Alan Salz for LASIK surgery and am super happy with the results. Tested 20/20 the morning after the procedure! Dr. Salz had a calm and patient demeanor and did a great job of explaining the surgery as it was happening so that I always knew what to expect at each stage. Answered all of my (many) questions at my consultation as well as my post-op visits too. My interactions with the office staff were great too--everyone was friendly and they gave me the documentation I needed to use FSA funds to pay for some of the surgery. read more

Stated when booking appointment I wanted to be fitted for contact lenses. Not until the final exam phase when I got to see Dr. Moshel was I informed they don't perform that service, and that I would have to go elsewhere. I complained that I mentioned my reason when making appt, and that second appointment would require paying again. Even though I liked Moshel, I feel she didn't do the right thing by not charging me. Ironically she referred me to Dr. Ehrlich (also in Bridgewater), who I had left to go to this larger practice thinking they could address my future needs as I age. Mistake! Went to see Ehrlich, and even without him knowing this backstory, did not charge me. He is warm, personable and professional. Although the doctors are wonderful in this practice the office has become horrible. You come for a 230 appointment and are shuffled around and are not seen by the doctor until 420. This is the third time I have been here with different days, times and both physicians. It is a systemic issue. This will be my last visit. I don't have 2 hours to waste waiting for a routine eye exam. read more

The opthamologist at the Eye Specialists are very competent, professional, and caring.Two issues: 1. However, an appointment always involves much waiting. I feel you have through too many stations and/or rooms before you actually see your opthamologist. 2. The office is not very handicap accessible going to each station, even though the staff are willing to help. Even the glass door to the office is too heavy to open. If you need to use the restroom, go before entering the office. It is located in the public hallway. I do not know they insure cleanliness and safety of this facility for their patients, since the coronavirus pandemic started. At least, it is easier to get into the building with handicap access buttons. If these 2 issues were assessed better, they could earn a 5+ rating. I gave them 4 stars only because the physicians are worth the wait and you can work around the handicap accessible issues by bringing someone to assist you. read more

I had respect for him years ago when I had my cataract surgeries, but now this office has turned into a greedy and deceitful practice. My husband had both cataracts removed in March 2020, and they demanded 100% payment up front. Our family deductible is $2800, so we had to pay the remaining $2000 deductible. They waited 1 month to submit the insurance claims. In the meantime, the surgery center also wanted thousands, and we were forced to overpay on the deductible by $1800. Dr. Salz's rude office staff insisted they never got paid from our insurance company and would not refund the overpayment, but I confirmed our insurance did pay the claims. They do not return phone calls, and I had to go there in person. Still no refund. So I filed a complaint/dispute with my credit card company, provided proof, and waited the required 45 days. The $1800 was finally refunded in May. Note, if you opt to get the lens impacts for vision correction, the cost is an additional $3300, not covered by any insurance. read more

I have seen all doctors here. Detached retina, glaucoma treatments, laser surgery. Excellent group.
