In 2024, I noted that the staff was generally friendly but not overly knowledgable and that shoppong here was much like shopping at the big box stores. However, based on TODAY'S experience, I seriously doubt that I'll be back to this store. My wife was looking for some "self-watering globes" for house plants. The store had two styles on display that were CLEARLY LABELED as being $9.95. When she took the first one to the register, the man (notice I don't refer to him as a gentleman) says "these are $15.99. My wife says they're marked $9.99 and he replies "well, they're $15.99". We went back on got one of the other style, compared the UPC code on the globe with the UPC price tag on the counter and THEY MATCHED. Took it to the counter and the same clerk scanned it and says "this one is $11.99". Again, my wife pointed out that the sign says $9.99. She walked out of the store and we won't be back. ACE DOES NOT HONOR THEIR POSTED PRICES. THE STAFF LACKS ANY SENSE OF CUSTOMER SERVICE. LET THE BUYER BEWARE.

We always like to support the smaller hardware stores vs the big box ones like Lowes/HD and this gave us an opportunity to do so! We had no luck outside where most of their Miracle Gro is located. Went inside and wowzers! This store is deceiving. Its HUGE! Very large interior footprint-/ it looks tiny in the middle of the strip mall... Its a very deep store. We found the soil about one third the way back on the side wall. Grabbed some Dahlia bulbs as a spontaneous purchase and made our way to the counter. While doing so I checked into Yelp. As I checked in I received a bonus coupon from using Yelp... (a big red screen popped onto my phone with a coupon for a free key! Offers like this sometimes happen randomly if you remember to check into locations enough times) The free key made this trip in an exceptional value! We had oddly we completely been meaning to do for a month. Thanks Ace/Yelp! We were then rung up by the nicest young man who was working the cash register. Everything went smooth during our visit. I even noticed that they sell Benjamin Moore Paints! Thats a plus too! Very happy with impromptu visit!

I sent my husband the twenty minute drive down to zettlers and he purchased a can of DoIt spray paint. The can would not spray no matter what we did to try to find a resolution. So I sent my husband back today to exchange it for another can and the manager (Jordan) refused. He fiddled with it for a few minutes and was able to get it to spray. My husband understanding how important this project was for me to get it finished today, went ahead and purchased another can of paint ($17) because he knew if he came home and I couldn't use the original can of paint I was going to be upset. So when my husband got home and explained the situation I was dumbfounded. I called the store and talked to Jordan who again refused to exchange the can of paint. He basically said there's no way he could resell it so he wasn't taking the loss. He ssmaid he was able to get the can working. I tried to use the can and it took everything i had to make our spray. He also told me that the owner Mike would tell me the same thing and that the owner would also not exchange the can of paint. Now I know from experience working in customer service that the last thing a manager should do when you have an upset customer is to tell the customer that the owner would not do anything different. The last thing a manager should do is to not find a resolution for the customer. A simple exchange was all we wanted. Instead we are out over 2 hours plus the$5 can of paint that basically went in the trash and the additional $17 we spent for a working can of paint. Beyond disappointed. The teenagers that work at this store always treat is with respect, Jordan could take some lessons.

When I arrived home two hours later, I noticed the receipt reflected I had been charged $25. for each cup. I called the store and spoke to (I believe) the same employee that had checked me out. They confirmed the $21. displayed price. Today I drove back to Powell to clear this up before it became dated. The clerk and manager became involved, explaining the displayed price was incorrect. I didn't expect to get a free cup, or anything. Given I called a couple hours after the purchase to confirm the displayed price, drove back to Powell this afternoon to be told, "That shouldn't have happened," no apology, no offer to get one cup at the displayed price of $21, and pay $25 for the other...nothing. It's not that I couldn't afford to pay the additional $8., it was the lack of consideration for the effort, time and distance that irritated me. I returned both items and will get them somewhere else for $25., or more. I've been shopping at Zettler Hardware for four years. Prices are generally higher, but I feel it's worth it because of (usually) better customer service. Zettler, you can do better.
