Update following the company's response:…read more I want to clarify one point raised in the owner's reply so readers understand the concern accurately. Yes, I mentioned that I would prefer the panels be placed on the rear of the home if possible. That was simply an aesthetic preference and not a design requirement. I relied on the company's expertise to determine whether that placement would still allow the system to reasonably meet the goals discussed during the sales process. I also want to be clear that the system functioning is not the issue. We appear to agree that the equipment is producing energy as designed. The production numbers themselves have never been what I questioned. The concern I raised relates to how the system size and expectations were presented during the sales process. When we explored going solar, the conversations centered around offsetting most or all of our electric bill, which was the primary reason we decided to move forward with a $20,000 installation. If it had been clearly communicated that the system was intended to be a smaller "starter system" that would only offset a portion of our electricity usage, we likely would have approached the decision differently or waited until we had a longer utility history available. Another important point is that no written proposal or modeling documentation outlining the assumed household usage or projected offset was ever provided prior to signing. Because those design assumptions were never shared with us in writing, it has been difficult to understand how the system size was determined relative to our expected energy needs. As a result, we are now paying a monthly solar loan while still carrying a meaningful electric bill, which is not the outcome we understood or expected when making this investment. At this point, I have shared my experience and clarified the concerns raised. I do not intend to continue a public back-and-forth discussion on this review. My purpose in posting this update is simply to provide context so other homeowners researching solar know to request clear written modeling and offset assumptions before making a significant investment.

A and R sent their sales person to our house and he got right to work. He went into our crawl space under the roof to make sure our roof was properly supported for the panels. That was a relief as the other place wanted to send a structural engineer to do that very simple job and charge us for it. Ridiculous. Our project was two years, so the crew may be slightly different, but they were great. When there was an issue, like that we didn't have electrical grounding, they just put in grounding bars. Amazing! They offer production guarantees which is rare for a solar company, like those ones that come door to door. lol A and R was professional, easy to work with and easy to communicate with. Good job team!

They were great to work with and took care of all the permit stuff. Now on sunny days we feel great watching our power meter running backward! Our system easily generates 3000 watts on sunny days, They even found an inverter that will give solar electricity during a power outage. We can log onto our inverter through our computer and watch the power generation data over time. Cant recommend these folks enough.

The project manager in 2008 was absolutely awful. Poor communication and someone quit so my project got pushed to no-man zone- no one was taking care of my project or communicating clearly about what was going on. I didn't write a review in 2008 because I was upset about the process. However, eight years later, the install is absolutely fantastic and the product has held up really well. Plus the person who was so awful is likely gone so thinking you'll have a better experience than I did. I'm getting quotes on battery and they are the first person I called

That's when we called Unity. Brian was out the same day. I regret not making them my first choice. They are transparent about pricing, keep you updated as the project goes along, and just overall very professional. Brian has about 20 years of experience and it shows. He was in and out of our house so fast. Even though the job was a bit more complicated, his expertise shinned. What took the other person (literally) 3 days, took Brian a total of 3 hours. He was intentionally trying to find ways to save me money on labor, which made me trust him. The company and Brian exhibit good character and integrity. This is now my go to company and Electrcian. Finding a reliable tradesman/company isn't always easy, and I'm thrilled to have found one.

Better Air Northwest sent out an estimator (Eric) for free. He was really nice, helpful, and figured out how to solve our issue for a reasonable price! We received the estimate per email a couple days later and unlike other companies, no pressure was put on us to approve the job right away - instead we were given as long as we needed to discuss and ponder. As soon as we approved the estimate, we were contacted so we could get on the schedule. Somehow Edgar and Juan asked and also answered all the questions at the very beginning and we were able to do other things while they did these 2 jobs like the true professionals they are. They started by taping everything in the room with the closet, and it kept everything so clean! (Although they did clean up after - and left the place tidier than it started haha - not even kidding they cleaned our doormat I forgot to clean prior to their arrival!) The attached pictures were provided by them and show the beautiful job they did! But I've seen other little touches that proof they are all about getting the job done right. Could not have hoped for better - I would hire them and Better Air Northwest again anytime for any job they perform!

Part of the bid was to replace a GFCI in my kitchen - that was not done. The labels on the new panels DO NOT match what they are supposed to be linked to. Trying to get them back out to finish what they were paid for has been a nightmare. When they did come back out, the wall sockets still were not fixed, and the CFGI was not replaced. Now the lights in my main room in the basement, as well as the outdoor light are out. So I know it is not a light socket that is bad, it is the whole circuit. I called and left a voice mail, again, but the message said they are booking out to February. I do not like giving a bad review, but I feel this is my only option at this point to try and get my issues resolved.

Realizing I wanted to replace all the windows and patio doors, I delayed a year and contacted Frank when I was ready. First of all, Frank is a joy to work with. He was always communicative, prompt and friendly. He offered for us to come out to the showroom and see the windows and doors in person. I went with the Milgard Trinsic Windows and Doors. Second, the install team was excellent. Every day, they arrived on time and hit the ground running. Having a number of contractors for projects over the past 5 years, this team has been the best. I moved out of the house during the project, but I stopped by daily and everything was always cleaned up and in order. Third, I really appreciated the effort and thoroughness on the last day of cleaning the exterior and especially the interior of the house. The team takes great pride in their work and you can tell that is 100% employee owned. If I had to say there was a down side, its you may be in for a wait when placing your order because their work is in high demand (the first year quote, I would have had to wait 4-5 months). Finally, the windows and doors are beautiful. What a difference this made in regards to temperature, sound, and clarity. Not to mention, the ease at using the doors and the contemporary narrow frame modernized our home. We could not be happier.
