They do mostly solar work and Tamara said they only do hot tubs for clients who are local, so I was in luck.

Update following the company's response:…read more I want to clarify one point raised in the owner's reply so readers understand the concern accurately. Yes, I mentioned that I would prefer the panels be placed on the rear of the home if possible. That was simply an aesthetic preference and not a design requirement. I relied on the company's expertise to determine whether that placement would still allow the system to reasonably meet the goals discussed during the sales process. I also want to be clear that the system functioning is not the issue. We appear to agree that the equipment is producing energy as designed. The production numbers themselves have never been what I questioned. The concern I raised relates to how the system size and expectations were presented during the sales process. When we explored going solar, the conversations centered around offsetting most or all of our electric bill, which was the primary reason we decided to move forward with a $20,000 installation. If it had been clearly communicated that the system was intended to be a smaller "starter system" that would only offset a portion of our electricity usage, we likely would have approached the decision differently or waited until we had a longer utility history available. Another important point is that no written proposal or modeling documentation outlining the assumed household usage or projected offset was ever provided prior to signing. Because those design assumptions were never shared with us in writing, it has been difficult to understand how the system size was determined relative to our expected energy needs. As a result, we are now paying a monthly solar loan while still carrying a meaningful electric bill, which is not the outcome we understood or expected when making this investment. At this point, I have shared my experience and clarified the concerns raised. I do not intend to continue a public back-and-forth discussion on this review. My purpose in posting this update is simply to provide context so other homeowners researching solar know to request clear written modeling and offset assumptions before making a significant investment.

We ended up speaking with several of the big solar installers and another couple smaller ones. They all wanted us to take huge low interest loans to buy a lower quality system than what we got with Smart Solar Energy. Smart Solar Energy allowed is to choose the equipment we wanted at no extra cost, and the overall cost was less than half what many others were trying to sell us. The install was delayed by a day because of illness then some paperwork wasn't left requiring a few extra days during install, but other than that they were great to work with and I highly recommend Smart Solar Energy.

Elemental Energy has been outstanding in post customer care. In the eight years since I've had my system, I've only had two issues which were properly taken care of. The project manager in 2008 was absolutely awful. Poor communication and someone quit so my project got pushed to no-man zone- no one was taking care of my project or communicating clearly about what was going on. I didn't write a review in 2008 because I was upset about the process. However, eight years later, the install is absolutely fantastic and the product has held up really well. Plus the person who was so awful is likely gone so thinking you'll have a better experience than I did. I'm getting quotes on battery and they are the first person I called

Our house was built in the late 1960's. Which means that the outlet plugs and other components that were installed back then (over 50 years ago) have become brittle. Jostle them a bit and they can fracture. This happened to the circuit for the room on the other side of the Battery install. Apparently they jostled the wires running to one of those outlets and it fractured it, disabling that circuit. It being a guestroom, we didn't notice it right away. When we did, Elemental did not hesitate to step up. I would use Elemental Energy again if I needed any of their services in the future.

$100 K Loan, No Battery, No Power Turned On (PTO)--Beware Jeris Coleman & James Lynch…read more If you're considering Freedom Forever, be warned: our project run by Jeris Coleman (sales) and James Lynch (supervisor) has left us with a six-figure loan, zero power, and endless frustration. High-pressure, zero transparency * Jeris would never just e-mail documents or provide them on the portal for calm review; he insisted on "dropping by" so we could "look over everything together." In reality, he used the face-to-face setting to rush signatures and distract us from reading the fine print, all while promising a Tesla Powerwall 3 battery that never appeared. Only after an insufferable elongated call with him did he admit it was his error that the battery was never entered in the first place. * Given how the solar contracts are written there is no way for someone who doesn't work for them to clearly notice that a solar battery is missing since they had Tesla in there. We thought Tesla was the battery and they later claimed it was inverter options, they list 3 different inverters on the contract that the company chooses from based on their availability. Even their own staff were unable to ascertain initially when asked if the battery was included until the contract was reviewed by someone higher up. * Contract total of over $100K yet we still have no battery and no permission to operate (PGE rejected the paperwork because Freedom Forever filed the wrong address). Yes, they had the wrong address on the paperwork they needed to submit to PGE to turn on the solar. We found out after we called PGE directly since they were not responding to us anymore. Upon solar completion we received an email from Freedom Forever, stating that we should look out for another email that will let us know next steps on the inspection by the electrical company and city. Two and a half months later we have yet to receive the follow up email. System throttled * Shortly after solar installation we saw notification on their portal (keep in mind no human informed us about this) that we can only get 80% solar production and the remedy involved settling to this or incurring extra costs (see screenshot). This was after they had surveyed the location before and told us no issues and that we will get our agreed on 100% production. Jeris assured us not to worry about it that it was an error on their part/system but I can't verify since we've not heard back about it and can't confirm since the system is still not on. Radio silence since 21 May * We've sent respectful emails, calls, and texts to Jeris and James no replies since May 21. Their "reputation manager" Cinque chimed in once on June 5, then vanished too. Meanwhile, Jeris and James are presumably enjoying their commissions and living their best lives while we are left with forever debt, cheap panels, no battery, and no permission to operate. Still they have not responded. I'm not sure if its Freedom Forever issue but I would avoid working with these two

Chris, the designer, was incredibly patient, explaining everything in detail and even reviewing other quotes I received, offering his candid feedback. I spoke with several leading providers in Portland, but Sunpath earned my trust through their transparency. Maggie, the project manager, was a delight and efficiently scheduled everything. The crew arrived early today and completed the installation before dawn, and I couldn't be happier! They did an outstanding job. Special thanks to Johnathan and Kordon, the lead installer, who explained everything thoroughly, and to the technician, Keven, for his excellent work.
