Yes, I mentioned that I would prefer the panels be placed on the rear of the home if possible. That was simply an aesthetic preference and not a design requirement. I relied on the company's expertise to determine whether that placement would still allow the system to reasonably meet the goals discussed during the sales process. I also want to be clear that the system functioning is not the issue. We appear to agree that the equipment is producing energy as designed. The production numbers themselves have never been what I questioned. The concern I raised relates to how the system size and expectations were presented during the sales process. When we explored going solar, the conversations centered around offsetting most or all of our electric bill, which was the primary reason we decided to move forward with a $20,000 installation. If it had been clearly communicated that the system was intended to be a smaller "starter system" that would only offset a portion of our electricity usage, we likely would have approached the decision differently or waited until we had a longer utility history available. Another important point is that no written proposal or modeling documentation outlining the assumed household usage or projected offset was ever provided prior to signing. Because those design assumptions were never shared with us in writing, it has been difficult to understand how the system size was determined relative to our expected energy needs. As a result, we are now paying a monthly solar loan while still carrying a meaningful electric bill, which is not the outcome we understood or expected when making this investment. At this point, I have shared my experience and clarified the concerns raised. I do not intend to continue a public back-and-forth discussion on this review. My purpose in posting this update is simply to provide context so other homeowners researching solar know to request clear written modeling and offset assumptions before making a significant investment.

Smart Solar Energy allowed is to choose the equipment we wanted at no extra cost, and the overall cost was less than half what many others were trying to sell us. The install was delayed by a day because of illness then some paperwork wasn't left requiring a few extra days during install, but other than that they were great to work with and I highly recommend Smart Solar Energy.

Our house was built in the late 1960's. Which means that the outlet plugs and other components that were installed back then (over 50 years ago) have become brittle. Jostle them a bit and they can fracture. This happened to the circuit for the room on the other side of the Battery install. Apparently they jostled the wires running to one of those outlets and it fractured it, disabling that circuit. It being a guestroom, we didn't notice it right away. When we did, Elemental did not hesitate to step up. I would use Elemental Energy again if I needed any of their services in the future.

I talk to a lot of Solor company's and they are all pretty much the same , except for some like blue raven who are a trust ally with the Oregon energy trust which help my decision making. Price was more than fair I went with a PPA since there is no more tax credit available. I am saving money already and did not have to take out a loan. I would recommend them to anyone trying to save money on their electricity bill. I think being owned by sunpower could have changed how they operate, because James , Danny and Roberto and I think the other guys name was Franco. All professional and new there stuff I did a lot of research and have sat down with many company's. A and R sent their sales person to our house and he got right to work. He went into our crawl space under the roof to make sure our roof was properly supported for the panels. That was a relief as the other place wanted to send a structural engineer to do that very simple job and charge us for it. Ridiculous. Our project was two years, so the crew may be slightly different, but they were great. When there was an issue, like that we didn't have electrical grounding, they just put in grounding bars. Amazing! They offer production guarantees which is rare for a solar company, like those ones that come door to door. lol A and R was professional, easy to work with and easy to communicate with. I repeatedly asked in writing for a clear, detailed explanation of what caused the work to take so much longer than normal. They refused to provide any written justification, instead insisting on a phone call. I made it clear I wanted everything documented in writing for clarity and transparency. While these discussions were still ongoing and unresolved, they ran my credit card for the full amount without my authorization. This was after I had been responsive and clear that the billing was in dispute. I chose Smiley Electric because of their high Google rating, but my experience matches the lower Yelp rating. I was just working with a budget-friendly, portable 12V solar system for DIY festival camping and emergency preparedness, and I needed some fuses. They had what I was looking for and were patient in getting it for me, but the amount of expertise and consideration of my specific parameters they shared was phenomenal, and I left much, MUCH better equipped than I was when I pulled into their parking lot. For an EXCEPTIONALLY reasonable price, I should add. I worked with Miles and Liam, and they were both fantastic human beings who took the time to listen to what I needed and to work with me to find a solution that fit my needs and my budget.
