Yes, I mentioned that I would prefer the panels be placed on the rear of the home if possible. That was simply an aesthetic preference and not a design requirement. I relied on the company's expertise to determine whether that placement would still allow the system to reasonably meet the goals discussed during the sales process. I also want to be clear that the system functioning is not the issue. We appear to agree that the equipment is producing energy as designed. The production numbers themselves have never been what I questioned. The concern I raised relates to how the system size and expectations were presented during the sales process. When we explored going solar, the conversations centered around offsetting most or all of our electric bill, which was the primary reason we decided to move forward with a $20,000 installation. If it had been clearly communicated that the system was intended to be a smaller "starter system" that would only offset a portion of our electricity usage, we likely would have approached the decision differently or waited until we had a longer utility history available. Another important point is that no written proposal or modeling documentation outlining the assumed household usage or projected offset was ever provided prior to signing. Because those design assumptions were never shared with us in writing, it has been difficult to understand how the system size was determined relative to our expected energy needs. As a result, we are now paying a monthly solar loan while still carrying a meaningful electric bill, which is not the outcome we understood or expected when making this investment. At this point, I have shared my experience and clarified the concerns raised. I do not intend to continue a public back-and-forth discussion on this review. My purpose in posting this update is simply to provide context so other homeowners researching solar know to request clear written modeling and offset assumptions before making a significant investment.

Previously, Purelight had done a "repair" that actually broke one of our microinverters and left 4 panels offline, leading to significant power loss and a big increase in our electrical bill, so we were pretty desperate for help with undoing the damage Purelight had done. A&R took over management of our Hoymiles instance (that's the app they need access to in order to make sure everything is working right and check on panel metrics), replaced our broken microinverter, and when a part was super late they graciously comped us for it. Excellent work, prompt service, and professional and polite techs and workers across the board. We will absolutely be using them when we convert to a generator/battery model within the next few months. Very highly recommended!

A and R sent their sales person to our house and he got right to work. He went into our crawl space under the roof to make sure our roof was properly supported for the panels. That was a relief as the other place wanted to send a structural engineer to do that very simple job and charge us for it. Ridiculous. Our project was two years, so the crew may be slightly different, but they were great. When there was an issue, like that we didn't have electrical grounding, they just put in grounding bars. Amazing! They offer production guarantees which is rare for a solar company, like those ones that come door to door. lol A and R was professional, easy to work with and easy to communicate with. They don't carry a lot of stock so they are not a retail store. But they ordered what I needed and got it to me quickly. And they beat Amazon's pricing. So I couldn't be happier. I much prefer supporting local businesses rather than big box chains and these guys really know their stuff. Excellent customer service. John and Miles instill a lot of confidence that their advice will be spot on. I'm unclear what strategy I am going to use to build an off-grid solar backup system for my essential electrical needs. I was just working with a budget-friendly, portable 12V solar system for DIY festival camping and emergency preparedness, and I needed some fuses. They had what I was looking for and were patient in getting it for me, but the amount of expertise and consideration of my specific parameters they shared was phenomenal, and I left much, MUCH better equipped than I was when I pulled into their parking lot. I worked with Miles and Liam, and they were both fantastic human beings who took the time to listen to what I needed and to work with me to find a solution that fit my needs and my budget.
