Yes, I mentioned that I would prefer the panels be placed on the rear of the home if possible. That was simply an aesthetic preference and not a design requirement. I relied on the company's expertise to determine whether that placement would still allow the system to reasonably meet the goals discussed during the sales process. I also want to be clear that the system functioning is not the issue. We appear to agree that the equipment is producing energy as designed. The production numbers themselves have never been what I questioned. The concern I raised relates to how the system size and expectations were presented during the sales process. When we explored going solar, the conversations centered around offsetting most or all of our electric bill, which was the primary reason we decided to move forward with a $20,000 installation. If it had been clearly communicated that the system was intended to be a smaller "starter system" that would only offset a portion of our electricity usage, we likely would have approached the decision differently or waited until we had a longer utility history available. Another important point is that no written proposal or modeling documentation outlining the assumed household usage or projected offset was ever provided prior to signing. Because those design assumptions were never shared with us in writing, it has been difficult to understand how the system size was determined relative to our expected energy needs. As a result, we are now paying a monthly solar loan while still carrying a meaningful electric bill, which is not the outcome we understood or expected when making this investment. At this point, I have shared my experience and clarified the concerns raised. I do not intend to continue a public back-and-forth discussion on this review. My purpose in posting this update is simply to provide context so other homeowners researching solar know to request clear written modeling and offset assumptions before making a significant investment.

Previously, Purelight had done a "repair" that actually broke one of our microinverters and left 4 panels offline, leading to significant power loss and a big increase in our electrical bill, so we were pretty desperate for help with undoing the damage Purelight had done. A&R took over management of our Hoymiles instance (that's the app they need access to in order to make sure everything is working right and check on panel metrics), replaced our broken microinverter, and when a part was super late they graciously comped us for it. Excellent work, prompt service, and professional and polite techs and workers across the board. We will absolutely be using them when we convert to a generator/battery model within the next few months. Very highly recommended!

A and R sent their sales person to our house and he got right to work. He went into our crawl space under the roof to make sure our roof was properly supported for the panels. That was a relief as the other place wanted to send a structural engineer to do that very simple job and charge us for it. Ridiculous. Our project was two years, so the crew may be slightly different, but they were great. When there was an issue, like that we didn't have electrical grounding, they just put in grounding bars. He suggested using an older non-mesh router to provide a constant signal to the gateway. When I had trouble setting it up myself, I decided to call Aaron and Sunpath Services because I wanted to support a company that was so generous with their time and expertise. They messed up some pretty major things on our house during the install. 2 years later and I am over $20,000 in debt on solar panels and also paying substantial bills from PGE. This is not what they said I should expect. Plus, most of what I am paying every month on the solar panels, is just paying interest. It's a nightmare. I usually make smart financial decisions and I beat myself up every day about this bad decision. To top it off, someone from Ion Solar showed up on my doorstep a few days ago to check in on "customer satisfaction." I said I wasn't satisfied and he said they could add panels to our house at no cost to get my solar input up to where it should be. I made an appt through him with an energy specialist. THEN the energy specialist didn't show or call. I arranged my whole day around the appt. When I called to find out what happened, they told me they couldn't help me because I don't have any space left for more panels. I'm stuck with this expensive system AND power bills. THEN, I started getting calls and texts like they didn't know I was a current customer. They were trying to "sell" me panels and propose a new system. I am officially convinced that this company is one of the biggest rackets in US history. Don't make the same mistakes I did. BUYER BEWARE.

The system, installed in August 2026, uses premium components: 23 REC Alpha Pure-RX 460 W panels with a 25-year ProTrust warranty, Enphase IQ8X microinverters with a 25-year warranty, and an Enphase IQ Battery 10C with a 15-year warranty. The crew padded their ladders with cardboard to protect my gutters, and Rion walked me through the Enphase app at commissioning. PGE's witness test took the longest to schedule, but once PGE sent a tech experienced with battery systems, the system passed and we got permission to operate.
