I wanted the electrical system and breaker panel evaluated to determine whether there was an underlying electrical problem. The electrician examined the panel and told me he did not see a problem with it. During the visit, he suggested installing a whole-house surge protector as an additional precaution. I agreed to have one installed. My biggest concern was the $450 charge for the surge protector. I understand that the price was disclosed to me before I agreed to the installation, so I'm not claiming that the charge was hidden. My concern is that, after researching the specific Eaton unit that was installed, I found the equipment available elsewhere for substantially less than what I was charged. There was also a 3% credit-card fee that I was not told about until the work was finished and I was standing there ready to pay. I was then told I could avoid the fee by paying with a check. I would have expected that fee to be disclosed before I chose my method of payment. I contacted the company afterward about my concerns. To their credit, they initially offered $150 back and ultimately increased that to a $300 adjustment, which I received. I appreciate that they were willing to work with me and resolve the dispute. However, the combination of the equipment pricing and the undisclosed credit-card fee left me dissatisfied with the overall experience. My advice to other customers would be to ask for an itemized price and clarify any payment-processing fees before agreeing to additional work. The work itself was completed, and the company ultimately made a significant effort to resolve my concerns. But based on my experience, I would get another quote before agreeing to similar additional work.

Lighting styles are evolving and I was hoping to find more mid-century modern lights with clean simple lines. They had lots of dark metal, farmhouse, and traditional style lights. Some ultra modern and space age LED lighting, but not as many options for transitional or mid-century. We ended up going with a chandelier we found online after carefully measuring and comparing to current lights. While there, I approached a different salesperson with questions about a bathroom light fixture in my home, one I am having difficulty taking apart to change out the bulbs. Yea, I know that sounds like the beginning of a joke, but it's not! He was super thorough, provided detailed instructions and even gave me options to consider if I wanted to swap the bulbs for an LED strip. All in all, a trip to Globe is worth it when looking for new lighting to see lighting up close and to get guidance from the experts who work there. Globe also has a variety of hardware for cabinets, numbers for the exterior of your house, outdoor lighting, and even home decor lurking in between and around the lamps. So walk around with a keen eye, you never know what you may discover.

Open junctions, inoperable outlets and switches, questionable wiring, and unfinished projects: these are some of the trappings of owning an older home. Paul came out to do an estimate on our project. I had the project bid by multiple companies. Winner's attitude, willingness to take on the project, and prompt follow up with a quote earned them the job. We had a scheduling mishap, but I won't take stars off for that. It was resolved quickly. I am super happy with the work completed. The electricians came out and worked most of the day in all areas of my home. They replaced breakers, outlets, switches, and resolved loose and unsafe wiring that was downstairs and in my garage. Winner answered my questions, and if something didn't seem right, they worked together to find the root cause of the issue rather than applying a workaround. I was so happy with the work completed, that I hired Winner back a second time, a couple weeks later, to complete the wiring to an outbuilding and reconfigure the wiring in my garage. That work was largely completed Friday - waiting on a part to finish up a couple aspects, but I'm happy with this work as well. I would use their services again, and I would recommend to others.
