I bought a pair of jeans that just fit me a little too loose in the legs. I called Sun Valley Cleaners from a recommendation of a friend who grew up in the area and explained that I also would be leaving town the next day so it was a bit of a rush. If it wasn't possible to adjust the jeans in that time frame (it was a stretch ask and I knew it!) then it would be fine I would just have to leave the jeans while on my trip. Martin told me that the jeans would be ready before they close the same day! I was amazed because I have never had that fast of turnaround. I was ecstatic and they did a great job! Called around to find the best price to dry clean an inexpensive, but sentimentally valued, wool coat. Sun Valley Cleaners was under $10, while competitors were asking $16 - $24. Sweet! Unfortunately, when I got my coat back, the zipper was broken! It was NOT broken when I dropped it off, as this is my only winter coat, and LA saw a long, cold, wet winter this year - so this coat got A LOT of use. As you can see in the photos from the day I removed the dry cleaning plastic, the slider is halfway up & doesn't move "freely". Most importantly, the teeth don't stay together! I've tried DIY solutions, like coating the zipper with a lubricant to help it slide, to no avail. The teeth still don't come together & close. The whole point was to avoid spending a lot, since the coat is old & was a steal off a store's clearance rack. But, as my only winter coat, I'm now forced to spend more to get the zipper replaced/repaired. Not happy about that. What surprises me is how the worker who put the cleaned coat on the hanger & placed plastic over it, who clearly tried to close the zipper & slid the slider up, didn't even flag it. So no word was spoken to me about it when I paid to pick it up. read more

I rented a shirt from a tuxedo place that had already been dry cleaned. It was looking kind of used up and off white, got home and realized how big of a difference the underarms looked compared to the rest of the shirt. Mind you, I needed to look sharp before heading out of town so I was running tight on time. I took matters into my own hands and called up Sun Valley Cleaners to see if they would be able to accommodate same day service. It was a Thursday, early around 10am and I called and spoke to a gentleman that asked me to bring the shirt in. I showed him the shirt and he explained the stains were due to the accumulation of perspiration over time. He said he would see what he could do. I also brought a back up shirt which reeked of cigar that needed to be pressed and dry cleaned. He took them both and asked me to come by at 4pm. To my surprise, I picked up the shirts later that day and they looked almost brand new!! I was completely amazed at the quality of the shirts. I almost feel embarrassed for the tuxedo place that I rented from, because of Sun Valley Cleaners' great service I am returning the shirt that I rented in better shape than I received it LOL. Anyway, I highly recommend this spot for all your dry cleaning needs. They have always been very solid. I need to see about some of their tailoring services next. I'm sure they will be just as great. Love this place! i do definitely recommend. i've starting going here in 2004, and even when i moved to SF, i would bring all my alterations with me to my trips to LA specifically for Sun Valley Cleaners. now that i'm back in LA i make may way there every month for all dry cleaning, alterations, etc. they even did a fantastic job with dry cleaning a King Size Down comforter and it was of course, at LOT less than most other places charged me for the same service. I've been visiting Sun Valley Cleaners for all of my dry cleaning needs for the past three years. These people are fantastic! The prices are amazing and you get your stuff back in two days. Things I've used them fo include: Alterations: generally $5 for basic hems / mends. I paid $15 for a very complicated dress alteration (super cheap) Pressing: Generally $1.50 to press men dress shirts I'd like to mention that I was referred here by a coworker that has been going to Sun Valley Cleaners for over 20 years. According to my co-worker: they've never lost anything or ruined anything she's taken in. Make sure to bring cash as they do not accept credit cards or debit cards. Parking is a bit tough but there is plenty of street parking next to the park. read more

Really bad they do a horrible job! Took a shirt that had a stain said it did not come out, took it to a different place without telling them about the stain came out perfect. I take my black work pants there, the knee area gets a little dirty they come out clean but after a couple of visits the knee area turned pink!.,?,?.,?,,! I can guarantee they do not have a dry clean machine. I used to take a white express shirt that is really difficult to iron that any place that is called a dry cleaners should have no problem creasing it making it look good. The customer service is always exceptional here. I am always greeted in a fast/friendly manner. But I'm sad to say this will be the last time I come here. Say it isn't sooo!! :/ they've got plenty of business trust me. Their clothing racks are always full and more then 1 person is in the shop every time I stop by but sadly their care for clothing is slowly lacking. I understand their prices are steep and that's because they have an on site washer and dryer etc.. as opposed to some places that get your clothing back a week later and charge 2.50 per clothing but Dang I need my stuff right away. Here they offer same day for an extra 50 cents from their price of 3.75 for a coat. I'm talking about a chefs coat. Ive also realized their steep prices are becusee of so much productivity coming in. But I've gotten the not so white clean coat I'm looking for. Actually this time theirs a stain. Ughhh. It's okay though.. I like them but I will be going to a cheaper and efficient place on glenoaks.
