I was looking for a less expensive cleaners then where I currently go. Well this isn't that. But you really get what you pay for here. Stains that others couldn't get out, they did. Chris is an artist. I came in needing some would-be simple alterations on a deceptively complicated dress - I needed it taken in at the bust and hemmed about 2". Chris was very kind and respectful while pinning my dress for alterations and understood very quickly what needed to be done to improve the fit. I dropped off the dress on Friday and picked it up on Wednesday. I am so impressed by the quality of the alterations! The bodice is boned and he took it in and replaced the boning *seamlessly.* He also replicated the hem facing on the dress to perfection. I will absolutely be visiting next time I need alterations. 100% I'd go back for alterations. The zipper at the back of my dress flapped out at the top. I ordered it online and needed it fixed ASAP for a wedding. Thankfully they said it was something they could fix and when I got my dress back, it was perfectly done, and the overall fit was unchanged (which I was nervous about since it was already tight). The cost was $40 and I don't know whether that's a reasonable amount for this type of alteration but I was okay with this price point. Thanks! read more

I took my (beaded, sequined, lace) wedding dress here to be cleaned and packaged. Chris did an excellent job cleaning it and took great care of my dress. They removed grass and twigs that were stuck in the lace, and it looked in pristine condition by the time they finished. He let me look over the dress prior to packaging it too to make sure I liked it. Overall if you need a wedding dress cleaned, I would take it here and trust them. They are great! read more

I was looking for a great dry cleaner and Yelp did not disappoint! I called a few of the top rated spots in the area and got a great vibe (and quote haha) from Don Mar. I brought in a tablecloth to be cleaned and pressed. Everything was straight forward, service is quick and friendly. The total charge was a bit more than I was quoted on the phone but I know they can only give an estimate without seeing the item. The tablecloth was even ready for pick up early! Overall, very efficient and they did a beautiful job. Don Mar is located in a little strip mall on Burbank. There is a parking lot but it's tiny and was full both when I went to drop off and pick up. I found street parking easily though. It's super dirty around there (why don't people pick up their trash!) but the service is so fast you'll be in and out, no prob. read more

I've been coming here for the past five years and never had any issues--fair prices, decent alterations. But this last experience was incredibly disappointing and honestly felt like I was being taken advantage of. I brought in a blazer that needed alterations. When it was first rung up, the price showed $24. When I returned to pick it up, I was told it was $192. My jaw hit the floor. I thought it had to be a mistake, but the owner insisted that was the cost. At no point was this price communicated to me, and I never agreed to it. After going back and forth, I told him I simply couldn't afford that. He eventually said I could pay $140, which I still believe is outrageous for a blazer alteration--especially considering it didn't even fit properly when I got it back. The blazer was still huge. What makes this worse is that when I dropped it off, he was complaining about the bad economy and a bill he got from the city. I guess his solution is to upcharge loyal customers. I won't be coming back, and I strongly recommend anyone using this place confirm the price before leaving anything. This was a terrible experience, and it left a really bad taste in my mouth. read more
