Today I decided to try the bowls. I got a pink akala - which is the strawberry-guava sorbetto with fresh fruit on top. It is more of a dessert, but the tart fresh fruit, honey, and granola make it feel like a better option than others. At $11, it's not much extra from a plain desert ice cream across the street at SALT. Miss manners says that ice cream in a cup is best eaten with a fork, and it does help a bit with the fruit, so don't be too surprised by the utensil choice. The music is always nice, probably spotify on an anime or k and j pop channel. It's relaxed and a good place to study or wait. It can sometimes be busy, and this time my order got a bit mixed up, but I've filled two stamp cards at this location, and it was the first time that happened. (They added in the ice on auto pilot i think, since the sticker did have no ice on it. But that's fine as I had the bowl to get through first, letting the ice melt some so I could get to the boba easier.) Mink wanted to get out of the house because she's been stuck at home many days due to her ankle injury so she wanted to go have something sweet somewhere new. After looking on Yelp, she found Sun Tea Mix. Parking was a struggle due to how busy they are on the weekends but luckily we found a stall as someone was leaving at the very top before the reserved section started. The stalls are tight so be careful of the ding fairy here. Make sure to get validation when you leave as it covers you for your first hour in the parking garage. This was my second visit here with my first visit being here with Lunch Buddy. I didn't order anything then as I only stayed a few minutes. The interior is spacious and clean. It's very bright and modern. Mink looked at all their pics on Yelp and knew she wanted to order a Strawberry Soufflé and a Matcha Latte w/Boba. Again, I didn't order anything as nothing seemed appealing to me. All the staff looked out of it and didn't really provide good customer service. They were also very hard to hear so we had to ask them to repeat what they said a few times. I asked for a paper towel to wipe the table we wanted to sit on since it was dirty but they pointed me to an almost empty wipes container. They were dead so I'm shocked they didn't go wipe down the table for us. When they finished Mink's order, one of the workers did walk it over to us. It was unexpected and a nice pleasant surprise for us. Mink took her photos then tried the soufflé and had a sip of her latte. She said the soufflé was 4 out of 5 stars and the latte was 3 out of 5 stars. I had some of the soufflé because Mink asked me to finish it. It wasn't too sweet and I liked the fresh fruit on top. I would say it's 3.5 out of 5 stars for me. Something about the soufflé didn't taste right to me but I'm no dessert expert. Souffle pancakes - while all were delicious, my two favorites were the 1) berries and 2) brown sugar boba souffle pancakes. Drinks - I will always enjoy a good watermelon drink. Love that this place allows you to choose the level of sweetness added. The watermelon smoothie was perfect at 25 percent. Though I think I would have preferred it withOUT the crystal jelly and cheese foam that came with it. The drinks are a little pricey at $8 each. That lava flow looked tempting. Do make sure you get your customer loyalty card punched which will allow you a free drink after 10 punches...taking the sting out of the higher prices a little bit. If you're a fan of fruit teas, I don't think I've been to anywhere else on the island that rivals Sun Tea Mix. The drinks look beautiful, and they taste even better than they look. I think one thing that sets Sun Tea Mix apart from many other places is that they use fresh fruit in their teas. You'll end up paying for it, but what you get is worth it. You can park at salt for an hour free of charge or you can find street parking (free on Sundays) regardless of where you park it'll be a bit of a walk to get here since it's in a odd location. I love it here because it's so clean, affordable, and tasty! My go to drink is either the honey dew or watermelon smoothie with ice cream and no jellies. This is my first time coming here and it looks like I found my new favorite tea place in town they didn't have peach, so I decided to get the strawberry lime tea, and OMG... it was absolutely delicious! The tea itself was really floral and paired well with the strawberries and lime. The strawberry soufflé was also delicious! The pancake was light, airy, fluffy and so flavorful. Came here for a Yelp Elite week event and brought my family to try as well. We tried various drinks, the oreo gelato, and 3 different flavored soufflé pancakes. The fruit drinks are all made with fresh fruit and even at 100% sweetness, the fresh tea flavor shines through. They were out of peach, which made me a little sad, so I decided to try the lilikoi pineapple tea with lychee jelly. It was good but the lilikoi seeds in it threw me off a bit. There was lots of pineapple pieces and the lychee jelly was yummy. The smoothies are all made with a deliciously creamy cheese foam on top. In my opinion the saltiness of the foam really enhances the sweetness of the fruit. My hubby got the pineapple smoothie and I liked his drink better than mine, lol. My daughter got the Jasmine milk tea with brown sugar boba. It was 100% sweet but still tasted like tea, which I appreciated. The boba was perfectly sweet and just a little chewy. My son got the creme milk tea with brown sugar boba. This was my favorite drink! It was ordered at 100% sweet but didn't taste overly sweet at all. It was rich and creamy and absolutely delicious! I wanted to try their honeydew smoothie, but they said that honeydew and peach wasn't available, so I decided on the mango smoothie with cheese foam and crystal boba and the brown sugar boba souffle pancake. It has been opened for a long time and haven't tried it until recently. I always see soufflé pancake pictures on social media of this place. It's a simple and cute. This tea place is located near H Mart in Kakaako. I would park at Salt and walk there. Salt at Kakaako has free parking for an hour. Grab some food at Salt and and then get a drink here. I didn't get to try the soufflé pancakes but I got the white peach oolong tea instead. Ordered it with lite ice and less sweet. I love the taste of it. The fruit flavor isn't overpowering the tea, and vice versa. Refreshing drink for me. Also got a stamp card. Love to come back here when I'm in the area. read more
