This place is great. I got eyelash extensions for a special event, but went back for a refill. Both times I have been there, it has been an incredibly relaxing experience. Amazing! Impressive! Relaxing. I went for a 60 minute reflexology treatment. It was the most amazing foot and lower leg massage I have ever had! Even if you don't believe the reflexology treatment will improve your health it was so relaxing! I also had a 20 minute neck massage but it included also massaging my back, not a full back massage, but it was so relaxing. The salon is clean and decorated simply. I will definitely return. They have a good deal if you buy a group of treatments. The best part is you can share the treatments with family or friends. I highly recommend Danny! read more

The nail tech I got was fantastic, friendly, personable, and had a cool vibe. My nails came out good. The ONLY reason I voted it 3 Stars was due to the inconvenience that they do NOT take tips on cards. There are tons of salons that do, and for that reason I will not be returning here. Side Note - I'm a busy and broke college student who has little to no time to pop by the bank (my bank also isn't in Annapolis). I'm only giving TWO Stars because the second person who worked on my nails (Winnie) did a good job. The first person, Nancy, did a horrible job. I was set to get a manicure and pedicure. There was confusion between who would do my and my friend's nails. We were initially assigned a male and female. I'm a male... my friend a female. The female technician was set to do my nails. My friend did not want a male (for whatever her reasons). So she took the female I was assigned and they assigned me Nancy. It became apparent later than Nancy had an upcoming appointment, but rather than tell me that, she chose to rush through the services SUPER FAST. I've been getting manicures for over 20 years and have never gotten one that was 5 minutes in duration. I thought, "Wow that was fast", but my nails looked OK at the time (because they were still moist from the lotion), so I didn't complain. She didn't even ask me to wash my hands before applying the lotion. I generally don't complain, so I said to myself, "Whatever... I can wash my hands when all is done." When we got to the pedicure chair, she kept insisting on me getting a "classic pedicure". Maybe, because I'm a male, she thought it wouldn't matter. After the third time of me saying "NO.. I WANT THE HOT STONE PEDICURE", she finally looked up and said, "I don't have time for that". I asked her, "Well, who does??". She politely packed up her tools and moved on. A few minutes later, Winnie sat down and did a great job, taking the required time and doing a quality job. Now after getting home, with my nails fully dried and washed, and no lotion to hide the imperfections, my cuticles weren't done well AT ALL! They are a mess. I won't go back there again. If Nancy had given my nails the 5 - 10 additional required mins, I'm sure the nails would have turned out much better. This is the absolute worst manicure I've ever had (in over 20 years). I'm not saying that Nancy isn't good... she may very well be.. but she WAS NOT professional and her lack of professionalism showed in the quality of work today. read more

I had a dip manicure and it was beautiful, however after a week one of the nails cracked. I went back and had another dip done. It was beautiful...for about 3 days. Then my nails started looking smudged. I would have appreciated a discount on the second one, considering the crack, but they actually charged me MORE than the first one! Having spent over $100 in less than a month, I won't return. UPDATE: I'm editing my review for the purpose of recommending Pink Nails Spa in Laurel. It was recommended to me by 2 friends from the area and it was the best hour of my life- 30 minutes of a shoulder/back rub (I preferred the chair but they also have a massage table) and 30 minutes of a foot massage we're perfect. I am very impressed with the service I received at Sun Spa. I have been getting reflexology over the past several months as part of a wellness program at work and decided that I should make this habit because I have noticed health benefits from having it done. This led me to find a Groupon for Sun Spa and I'm very happy I found it! I noticed effects from the 60 minute reflexology almost immediately. I also received a quick 10 minute back massage. This is not like a Swedish massage or any other kind of massage that you have where you need to take your clothes off. It's an acupuncture massage so it's delivery is a bit different. It was awesome. Leo did both services... I'm hesitant to leave his name here because I want to keep him a secret and all to myself! Ashley at the front desk was very attentive as well and extremely friendly and professional. The facility was very clean. I left after making two appointments for me and my husband. I have been going here for mani and pedi's but no more! My last time I got a mani with regular nail polish and it must have been old because it never dried. I was flying out the next morning and I called them the day I returned to let them know the outcome of my manicure! Management said I should've called right away and there was nothing they could do! I got a half set of lashes done by Nina and it was such a relaxing experience! I've gotten eyelash extensions done in the past (at a different salon) and had an awful experience (lash tech chewing gum directly by my ear, lashes poking my eyes, and overall unsettling experience). With Nina though it was the total opposite! There is peaceful music playing, she lays a blanket on you, and it's nothing but silence. I could've easily fallen asleep! She put soothing gel eye pads under my eyes and took her time with the application of lashes. I could tell that she was really passionate about her work and ensured that the lashes were on not only correctly but also beautifully!! This business is easy to locate and the staff are all very friendly. They are all family working together. I visit this place at least once when I am in town for business. While here, I always see Ashley, who does my eyelash extensions and her application technic is great. My eyes sensitive and are easily irritated when touched but with her it never feels that way. She truly knows what she is doing with eyelash extensions. Meanwhile, while she is working on my eyelashes, someone else is giving me a foot massage. It's quite relaxing compared to my hectic mommy work life and to be honest, I think (pretty sure) I kinda snorted in a deep sleep. It's that relaxing. Updating my original review: I had been going to this salon for about 4 years, from back when it was known as VIP Nails to now when the name has changed to Sun Spa. After the name change I had a couple less than great experiences with some new technicians and left a not so great review. Sun Spa could have easily ignored the review and kept it moving, as most businesses would have. However, that is not what they did. The owner took the time to contact me regarding my experience and to gather more details and the entire company and staff went out of their way to make sure that I had a good experience when I went back. For that alone, Sun Spa deserves kudos. I went back today for the first time since leaving my original review and Iris did a phenomenal job on my nails. I will definitely book with her again. Management does seem to care that their customers have a good experience and that goes a long way in today's world. read more

For the most part, the "spa" is a large nondescript open room with very little privacy. It's quiet... that is, if the guy running the bike shop next door isn't having a loud exchange with a patron on the opposite side of the street (like there was on this particular day). The "spa" features a large screen TV showing relaxing ocean scenes - and there is also soothing Asian background music playing. The owners and employees are lovely but their thick accents made it difficult (at least for us) to understand them - from where most of our problem stems. They asked my wife (a few days in advance of the appointment) for payment in cash and provided her a dollar amount (something she had to ask them to repeat THREE TIMES - make sure this is very clear). She happily complied, but after a confusing and previously-unplanned additional foot service was added to her other service, it cleaned her out of all the cash she brought with her. The confusion left no extra cash for her to pay for any tip. As for the service she did receive (a set of eyelash extensions), once again the language barrier caused her to receive the shorter set, instead of the long lashes she wanted. She is unhappy with them - to her, they look like false lashes. The longer lashes that she requested may have looked better and more natural. My advice for the salon owners is to deliver on the services that the customer has requested. Not every customer has excess cash to pay for add-on services that they did not request ahead of the appointment. If you do not, expect that it will impact a client's ability to pay the full amount in cash. Think about taking credit cards. read more

If you're looking for full body massage, this really isn't the place. The massage area is a group setting do you don't get naked so for me personally the massage was mediocre. Also the 60 minute massage was entirely while I laid on my stomach. Very uncomfortable for me. I like my top muscles massaged and my face hurt after an hour on the table. I have gone here for probably over 10 years off and on(When it was VIP nails). I have always LOVED this place and recommend to anyone needing any type of nail service...Well no more. They are under new management/ownership and it is ran terribly. I am so sad about this because I actually really like the nail tech I had on my most recent visit. That's the only reason why i'm giving them 2 stars or I would just give them 1. To start off, I received a pedicure with the chrome gel polish. The nail tech stated it was $15 more for the chrome. Ok, not a problem, I know gel costs more. She did an amazing job, and I had planned to go back to start getting shellac manicures again, like I used to a couple years back. I get to the register and they tell me my bill is $75...well I knew the pedi is 45 and chrome was 15, so where did the other 15 come from? I guess the nail tech assumed I knew gel is 15 and chrome an additional 15. Yikes! So $30 more just for a special polish? Oh well....the pedi was really great so whatever. I have a $50 gift card, so no biggie. Or so I thought. I show them my e-gift card. "We are under new management. We don't take those anymore". Ok, well I just got this 2 weeks ago. "We were under new management April 1". Ok well, this was bought on April 4th and has your address on it. "Oh, we need to let the old owner know the address needs to be changed". Are you freaking kidding me? I wouldn't have spent 75$ on a pedi. It was bought after they transferred ownership on their website for that location. And nothing at the front desk to warn customers of this. If you go to their website they still have the misleading e-gift cards there.(At the time I originally wrote this, they did, now i'm assuming its corrected since they have changed their name as well) So the manager thought if she kept smiling and saying sorry for the inconvenience that was good enough. Stupid of her, considering I was going to be coming there twice a month for shellac manis. So she was more worried about a 50$ gift card to keep a customer happy and to do the right thing, than 90$ a month. Welp, i'll just have to go to the Severna Park location(as the manager stated I could use it there). The Severna Park location is the same people who used to own Annapolis and I prefer to go somewhere that they care about their customers, so I guess i'll continue to go where I know I've always been treated well. read more
