I was a customer for about 5 months. No problem with dip powder until I decided to try the gel set called "Tiana Collection" As Ken started the set, I noticed a burning sensation after the 2nd nail was done. I let him know it was burning and suggested he lower the UV light that he used to set the gel. He mentioned that the light only had 1 setting and that he couldn't change it. As he continued, I suggested to move the heated UV lamp further away from my nail bed as the temperature and position he had it in was burning my nail bed. I mentioned this as a reminder several times. When I got home that evening, I had to take Tylenol and add ice to my nails to sooth the burning sensation. At this point, I was concerned because the burning radiated from my fingers up my arms. Went the at shop opened, I contacted Ken to let him know what happened. He had me come in to remove the gel. I also asked for compensation, at least a percentage of my money back or have him do dip set later. Jennifer told me they took the gel set off, and took time doing my nails, so there was no compensation or refund of any kind. I suggested to file an insurance claim as this was an injury due to a product they provided. She told me insurance will not pay for it and she didn't see whether I deserved a refund. I have never experienced this sort of hospitality or service at any nail salon. I came here as a referral from a coworker. While still getting familiar with this area, I thought this place would offer great service. If you are thinking of getting nails done at here, be aware because it's not about customer service it's more about money for them. I always wondered why fee for services changed often when I got the same thing each time. Hidden fees no consideration for how they treat their customers. Deluxe pedi and gel with 2 horrible nail designs totaled - $145 and still burning from lamp. Go someplace else. UPDATE: Several hours later, Jennifer, the owner, left me a voicemail asking me to call her back. I returned the call believing she might offer an apology, discount, or some form of resolution. Instead, the conversation focused on my review and why I had posted it. She reiterated that because I chose the service, I was not entitled to any compensation. When I suggested continuing the discussion after she finished with her customer, she declined and continued explaining why she would not provide a refund, discount, or credit. This entire experience was disappointing. Mistakes and adverse reactions can happen, but what stood out to me was being told, "I'm not going to argue with you," when I was simply expressing surprise and concern about what had happened. I was not arguing at all, and the comment felt dismissive. I was left wondering whether I was being treated differently, possibly because I am an African American woman. Regardless of the reason, I did not feel heard or respected during the conversation. Reactions can happen, but how a business responds to a customer who has been injured or harmed by a service says a lot about its values. I came in for some normal, short, black acrylics because I am getting engaged and wanted some nice pictures. I have had this service performed many times elsewhere with no issue. During my service, the guy doing my nails had trouble getting my left index finger to dry and had to do it multiple times, which is fine, but I had them done on Friday and it is now Sunday morning where the entire nail has rubbed off and the left hand overall is a mess. Like other comments say, please do not confuse this place with Avalon, in the same shopping center. I stopped in here after my aesthetician recommended I stop it. I arrived for a walk-in and was greeted by Ken who, not going to lie, probably gave me the best pedicure of 2025 (& the year is just beginning I know, but the bar has been SET). He was patient, communicative, and adaptable, even when I asked for additional services added. I would love to come to Crofton again, as I have NOTHING bad to say. They were nice and all. But I paid $81.50 for a chrome mess. I had to tell her my nail was crooked or else she would have not fixed it. You can tell designs is not this nail techs specialty. I told her she could freestyle but she ask for a design to copy. I should've kept it simply. At least I thought I did. She had no suggestions for anything. Also. Keep in mind that they use polymer gel as hard gel and tried to tell me it's the same thing......Ugh. I've gotta chrome at other places and this was not it. I just wanted to pay and get out of there. PLEASE DO NOT confuse this place with Avalon. They are in the same shopping center, but they are NOT the same. I've patronized both. Crofton Nail Spa is 100x better in terms of technique, quality, customer service, cleanliness, and value for your money. Each time I've been to Crofton Nail Spa the experience was top notch. Kevin and Jen have done my nails before and both are very talented and did exactly what I asked for. And they made sure I was satisfied. Ms Kim did my pedicure. She took her time and the paint job was fantastic. Overall, I had gotten so accustomed to going to nail salons and expecting subpar service and when speaking up about my dissatisfaction, being reprimanded. I'm soooo glad this place doesn't fall into the category with others. Crofton Nail Spa deserves the 5+ star rating. The space is updated, clean, many colors to choose from, and the staff is very personable. I REALLY liked it here. I've found my forever place. I've been here a few times, walk-in each time, and every time I have been fortunate to either not have to wait or have a reasonable (and short) wait time. I've come mostly for pedicures and have maybe had one manicure, but I appreciate that I can have my natural nails done, gel or some other product isn't pushed on me, and my requests are met with respect. It's a very comfortable environment and I appreciate the offered beverage. They have a great color selection and assortment of service add-ons that make this worth it every time. read more

We called to see if there was availability for two pedicures. We were told to come in. We arrived 15 minutes later and was greeted by Ken who was friendly and cheerful. We were asked to pick out our color and was escorted back to the comfortable pedicure area. Music softly played in the background. We were given bottled water and sat back as we got our pedicures from Ken and Kim. The pedicures were wonderful and completed exactly as we wanted. I think this is the one! I have been trying to find a new nail home since moving and have experienced a rough 4 months on the search. I came across Crofton Nail Spa while doing more research and based on the reviews and location I decided to give it a try. I made an appointment for 3:30 on a Friday . I was immediately seen by Jennifer even though I arrived 30 minutes early. She was kind, asked me what I wanted and explained everything I wanted to know about builder gel versus gel x. She did an amazing job on my builder gel nails and the design. She is super meticulous with each step and takers her time. Next I had a classic gel pedicure with Daniella, she was also really kind and took her time. I didn't feel pressured to get any add on services during my visit. Additionally the salon is well maintained it is clean and welcoming with dim lights, tranquil music and they offer beverages and snacks. I will definitely be returning to Crofton Nail Spa! read more

I've been to this salon a few times before the management change. I've always enjoyed the vibe and atmosphere and not much has changed from what I can see. The only major policy change I really noticed is that it's no longer appointment only. I made an appointment (or so I thought) for a Sunday afternoon. There were a couple people already being serviced but my daughter and I were seated immediately. I got a Spa Pedicure with gel and gel manicure for myself and a Classic gel pedicure for my daughter. The pedicures were soothing and the color came out nicely. My manicure was ok too but I noticed that the gel only lasted a week, which I normally don't experience with gel. I've always considered this salon to be on the pricier side and that is still the case. My services added up to about $150, not including the tip. Future customers should note that the website listed on their Yelp page is rerouted to the Avalon Nail Spa (a different salon in the same shopping center. I've been there before and it's a good salon to just a little louder.) I didn't realize until after the fact that I accidentally made an appointment online for the wrong salon. Overall, this is a good nail salon in an easy to find shopping center. I would go back when I'm in the mood to splurge a bit. read more

I came in on a Sunday to get a Gel X manicure and regular pedicure. I made an appointment with Kelly and I was very pleased! I am very particular about my nails when it comes to the handling of my nails and the design/shape. Kelly was patient as I asked all my questions to ensure the end product was to my liking and she did not disappoint. I booked an appointment online on a Sunday morning and got in right away. When I arrived I was greeted promptly by Jennifer who was super friendly. The salon is beautiful and everything was super clean. I sat down and explained exactly what I was looking for and how I'd been to several salons in the area and just haven't been happy or impressed at all. She assured me I would be happy and my expectations were exceeded! She began by pushing back the cuticles - why do all nail techs not do this?! She made sure I liked everything along the way, the shape, the colors, made a suggestion about a base color to make them look even nicer, and she free hand painted the french tips and little design. My nails are literally PERFECT and she really took the time to make sure I was happy. It's been about a week now and I still just love them so so much!! Came in for Mother's Day to this hidden gem of a place as a gift from hubby; and was so pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere -- clean, quiet, serene. I've been to other salons where, as pretty as the decor might be, staff are yelling across the space and the vibe doesn't feel relaxing. Here, it's just the opposite: staff is friendly, but not overly talkative, lights are turned off when you're having a service to give you a feeling of true tranquility. The massage chairs for pedis are excellent. Got the spa pedicure and classic mani. Daniela did my nails with such care and precision. The spa pedicure was on par with a lux facial at a high end resort like Camelback Inn in AZ. Because my cuticles are fairly sensitive I no longer get gel nor acrylics or dips but let me tell you, my polish lasted for over two weeks! So happy to discover this truly special day spa right in the neighborhood. Crofton Nail Spa will be my go-to, absolutely! I was way too relaxed to take pics but next time, will share.
