When I was staying in Crofton, I was in need of a real good wax place, and I would have never known of this place if it wasnt for my Yelp gal pals. After reading their great reviews I knew I would be in great hands. Most reviews here are 5 stars so that speaks volumes. The place is off 301 hwy. As you enter, the place is immaculate. It gives a nice warm inviting vibe. The receptionist and the staff here make you feel welcome. Especially for first time guests. This is important because it can make all the difference in the world when you are getting services down there. They help me feel at ease. I forgot my techs name, I think it was Sara, she was great, made me feel comfortable. After I left the area, I went to another location in MOCO, that chain kept letting me down, I mean when your paying a lot for a wax, there shouldnt be anything left, nor should you be left with ingrown hairs or swelling. I gave that place 3 tries to improve... after that .... it was ADIOS. Because of that Im back with Doll Wax. They really do take care of you, they do it right the first time. I have gone to their other location in Gambrills, and I loved it there! This was my first time at this location, pretty easy to get to off of 301; although it isn't really easy to spot from the road. It is in a strip mall, with a small sign. I believe a couple times a year they have their brow bash event, where you can get an eyebrow waxing at a very discounted rate. You have to take advantage if you can! It just so happened to be 80s day, everyone was dressed up, there was music, and everyone appeared to be having a good time. This is on top of the really cute décor that they already have. The esthetician that did the work did an excellent job! She was really personable, and I was extremely happy when I left. I love each location!!! I mostly frequent the Gambrills and the Crofton location since they are closer to me. The decor is always on point! The bathroom is dainty and filled with everything a girl could ask for in an emergency. Doll way does take walk ins but it's very easy to book an appointment online! You could even rebook with the same person easily. Times are always varying depending on the person. Jess does my eyebrows! She is very personable and fun to listen to. For my underarms, I like Makayla, Karen, Jenna or anyone else. I also go for their famous Brazilians. I love Kim, Jenna and Jess for this one! No matter what everyone is great and personable. I especially love that they use aloe Vera so I don't break out badly. They offer a lot of products to help with post care. There are also post care directions posted online and in each location on how to care for the waxed area. Choose Doll Wax for all your waxing needs. They definitely specialize in this! I saw Lauren for the soft wax classic doll brazilian, and she was AMAZING! I was a bit nervous going into the appointment, but she was so friendly, sweet, and put me at ease. We just chatted for the whole service and it made the experience shockingly comfortable! Yes, waxing is expensive, but if you're on the fence about it, DO IT! It is so worth it. So I returned after my first visit so I guess that means I'm a fan! So far, I've only come here for my eyebrows but am considering returning for other...um...hair removal needs. I love Doll Wax Salon because you can schedule an appointment online and pick the person that you would like to work in you. I'm new so I've just been letting the system pick for me. One I find someone that I consistently enjoy going to, that will be my person. The customer service here is great and the staff are friendly and will answer your questions. Even for an eyebrow wax, you get a consultation where they give you the mirror and ask what you'd like done. After the waxing is complete, they apply a cooling gel to your skin, especially if the area is very sensitive. Another thing that caught my eye about Doll Wax Salon is the decor. It's super cute and super girly. The only thing that kind of sucks is that there is a kid's spa located above the salon and sometimes it's sounds like a stampede of wild animals is running across the ceiling. I normally go to the Odenton location, but they were closed this date (04/18/2022) for training, so I went to the Crofton location and saw Lauren. She was fantastic in every way! Super friendly, chatty in a easy/laid back way, and she really went above and beyond for me too; even tweezing my armpits to avoid overwaxing and irritating that thin skin area. Lauren used before and after care products for my skin type (being a redhead, I have super sensitive skin!) to help with inflammation, redness, to promote healing and help with soothing the areas, etc. She even helped me with homecare recommendations too! The only reason I gave -1 star is the location is so difficult to get to and the parking is atrocious. Seriously considering switching locations just because of Lauren though. read more

I needed my eyebrows waxed since my usual lady was off today. I looked around on Yelp and found this place. I made an appointment and arrived 15 minutes later. The place was nicely decorated, almost like a quaint boutique. They have refreshments near the entrance. I checked in and was taken to a clean room to have my waxing done by Ashley. She cleaned up my eyebrows and talked with me through the process. There was absolutely No pain and No itching afterwards. My skin usually itches after I get waxed at nail salons. Doll Wax Crofton is a great, comfortable, quick waxing salon! Walking in, I immediately felt very comfortable with my surroundings and the receptionist. Such a cute little place with sweet and welcoming people running it. My esthetician, Sarah, did an amazing job with my brows. First of all, she gave me the full run down of everything she was using (oil, wax, aloe, etc) to make sure that I didn't have any allergies. I felt a lot more relaxed knowing exactly what was going onto my face. Secondly, she handed me the mirror right off the bat (unexpected in my experience!) and asked me how I wanted my brows shaped-- did I want them the same as my normal shape, or something different? I ended up going with a more straight brow than my normal shape, and Sarah asked me through the process of what I thought was best. She even asked about individual hairs! How precise and customizable. Nowadays, I think that we pay more to have estheticians "know" what's best for us, when in reality, it's refreshing to have that hand in what my face is gonna look like when I leave the salon. Every time I go into a salon, the esthetician expects me to want the same thing every time, but I'm not that type of person; I'm more of a "if this gets screwed up, brow pencils can fix anything" kind of girl. The interactivity was more than appreciated. They even gave me a goodie bag that includes their menu, the salon's and Sarah's cards, and a loyalty card for $10 off a service after 5 check ins. I foresee this being a pretty short review because there's not much to say when you're just good all around! Doll Wax has provided consistently great service each and every time I've visited. I always visit the Crofton location just because it's closest to my house but friends who patronize their other locations have confirmed the same. When I first started going, Stacy was my esthetician's name and she way great. The way my life is set up though, it was hard for me to make it in during her scheduled hours. Now I go to Jeni who is just the sweetest person ever!! You can call any location to make an appointment at any location or use their super easy online appointment tool. Also, I wanted to point out that Doll Wax gives great effort in celebrating the occasion of the day/week/season. I got my last wax to Thriller and The Addams Family theme song for Halloween lol. So if you go there nervous about your first Brazilian, just remember to first take your ibuprofen 20 minutes before you arrive and know that you can always banter about the music of the day if nothing else. The front desk staff are always friendly and Inviting upon check in and check out! I go every 5-6 weeks for service with Jess and it's the best! I get a follow up brazillian service so it is shorter than a full brazillian! However, Jess is always ready as soon as I walk in! Actually, men are also welcomed here, especially if you have a "40 Year Old Virgin" thing going on. IJS! Finally!!! A place strictly for waxing! Bikini, leg, underarm...you name it, they wax it. I can appreciate that they only do waxings, because the staff is able to fully concentrate on one service and perfect it. I was referred by my home slice, Crystal H and she was sooo right about this place! I'm a pro at waxing so I know what to look for and what to watch out for and this place is a winner! It was a breeze making my appointment using schedule city. I was able to choose who I wanted to perform my services and what service I desired. This location is on Defense Highway in Crofton but, they have another location in Gambrills as well. It's a quaint little shop that offers light refreshments as you enter. My esthetician took her time to explain the service I was getting and some suggestions between hair growth. I have this particular service done all the time and almost everyone does it differently. I was told that everyone at Doll Wax does Brazilian waxing the same way, which is good for regular customers. She was very thorough, efficient and professional with my service. They have specials on their Facebook page and their website. Occasionally, they will even send special discounts/monthly specials via email. Credit cards are accepted but they would prefer that you tip using cash. Remember to get a loyalty card because you receive credit for each visit you make and the discounts really add up at the end. It's a very clean and sanitary shop. I plan to come back because I was really impressed. Don't get it twisted, waxing anything on your body is going to hurt, but in the end, it's truly worth it. This review is long overdue. I've been going to Doll Wax (DW) salon for about 3 years now, I was referred by another friend who goes to Doll Wax on a regular basis as well! Where do I begin?! One of the things that I love about DW is the cozy, chic and girly ambience. Every time I arrive at DW in Crofton, I'm greeted with a smile and welcome from someone sitting at the front desk who confirms my appointment and then hands me over to my esthetician, Jess is always punctual, usually just waiting for me to walk through the door! I go to Jess on a regular basis (my girl!) and I've also had services done by Jeni and Meg. I always go for the Classic Brazilian wax and til this day, I have not one complaint. The Classic Brazilian Wax is performed with soft wax and aloe oil (which I love because it relieves the pain after each strip). Once greeted by my esthetician, I'm taken to a room where I will prepare for my wax. Alone you will have a few seconds to get yourself together with a wipe and once you are ready, you ring the bell and then comes your esthetician. Waxes can be awkward, but I've never felt this way at DW, normally during my service Jess and I are chatting the entire time about everything under the sun and before you know it my service is over and I'm walking out a satisfied customer. All of the estheticians at DW have the customers best interests at heart and make sure that you are comfortable and satisfied! I really hate to do this...but I really had the worst eyebrow wax of my life and completely lost the shape of my eyebrows. I've been a reoccurring customer for Doll Wax, but this was my first eyebrow wax at Crofton. First, I had to pay before the service, which I've never done before. Madeline was my esthetician and right before the wax, we both discussed that I wanted a clean up for my natural shape. After the first application of wax, I felt so much hair taken off. And even the trim shortened the hair more than I wanted. Both eye brows are now different shapes, thinner, both arches are gone and my naturally long eyebrows are now shortened. I feel and look like a boy. I didn't realize just how bad they look until I got home. Again, I hate to leave this review but I am so upset about my eyebrows I don't think I can come back here again. read more

They have 3 locations and I went for their Crofton location and picked Jess because I saw her name mentioned in a few of the comments. Prices are very reasonable and cheaper than what I was paying for at my last waxing place. Who says you have to pay a lot for good service?? I like their online scheduling option and they have a loyalty card, after a certain # of visits, you get $10 off. I wanted to wait 2 days before posting a review just in case I had an issues that needed to be resolved before writing anything. My appt with Jess was great. A little on the chatty side but she was very comforting and thorough. Went over the type of wax I was getting before starting and made sure I was satisfied when she was finished. I went for "Happy Hour" which is a great deal for a Brazilian was (lower priced between 1-4 pm). It was definitely cute walking in and everyone was very friendly. They got me started right away. I loved the little Bell to ring when you were undressed and ready for your esthetician to return. Jess, was quick yet thorough and kept checking to make sure I was comfortable. The young man at the front desk sets the tone for superior customer service. He was so welcoming and communicative in regards to how long the wait for my appointment would be and it wasn't long at al. Now onto my new esthetician "Meg". Meg was the BOMB and I'm so glad I picked her to experience my first Deluxe Brazilian with. She described everything that was happening and all the treats applied during the process. For my first time I can honestly say it didn't hurt as bad, the butterfly position was probably the only part that really hurt. I booked an appointment with Kelsey in Odenton about a week ago and let me tell you she is amazing! It did not hurt one bit, honestly, even after that long, it was painless!
