Best Salon in the area! Every time I have come here to get any service it has consistently been a good experience. The owner should be so proud to say all her nail techs are excellent. I've been going to serenity for about 3 years now and Kim is just the best. I always get a dip manicure and while it's a bit pricy, they easily last 4-5 weeks with no lifting at the cuticle or breaking/cracking of the dip. 10/10 best nail place in the area. read more

I've been to this salon twice. First time, I had a spectacular experience. Chao gave me the best pedi and gel mani I've had in years, she was amazing. Second time, a different woman, whose name I didn't catch, gave me a really disappointing gel mani. I know getting the old gel and polish off is a pain, but to me removing it properly is a fair expectation. The woman made a meager attempt to remove it using the foil, cotton ball, and acetone method. When that didn't work quickly enough, she used a drill to remove the vast majority of the polish that remained. As a result, I've got thin/weak nails, 4 of which have broken right along the nail bed, which hurts and looks awful. I've never had this happen before with a gel manicure. During the mani she kept trying to engage me in conversation over some pretty intense stuff that's in the news right now. I'm just there to relax and get my nails done. When I tried to politely disengage from the conversation she just kept going. I'm really not happy with the experience I had. Unless I can book an appointment with Chao again, I likely won't return. read more

Service was a very bare minimum and rushed. Just a quick nail and cuticle trim. No foot or leg massage whatsoever. I've paid the same or less for the basic pedicure at other salons and received a lot more service. The technician did do a good job at applying the polish but that's it. There are other salons in the area I would go back to but not here. read more

This review is way overdue, but I have found my favorite nail salon in the area. The hype (in the positive reviews) is real yall! The salon is very spacious and clean, with tons of color options laid out neatly. I find these ultra-new mega salons are pretty common in the Crofton/Odenton area, which makes for a night & day difference when I go back to whole-in-the-walls in the city. What sets this salon apart though are all the smaller touches. They ask if you want water. They will turn the massage chair on for you. They ask if you are hungry and offer snacks. And check this: the magazines are actually NEW! I'm so sick of getting dating advice from a four-year-old magazine LOL! I've only gotten pedis here so far and the prices have been fair, with lots of pedi menu choices. Based on the photos in this listing, I bet they do a killer mani/acrylic set too. I visited the sibling co-owned Serenity Spa & Nail salon four times within a week before I decided to move forward with this review. Friday, October 11th: Kay did a overlay fill-in with a stiletto shape. She stated that, "she was unable to do the louboutin style because the red polish had to go on first." No worries. I didn't get a manicure because she said it's ok. Next time. After leaving the salon, I couldn't help notice that my cuticles on my right hand were peeling. I contacted Kim and asked to make an appt for a manicure the following morning, 10/12. Saturday, October 12th: I returned on Saturday morning for a manicure. The water was ice cold so I mentioned it to Kay. She immediately dipped her hand in the water to verify. (I found that odd because I didn't need her to concur) Kay tried to justify the cold water by stating that it's bc it's too early. There is no justification. It's completely unacceptable. She also starts talking to the co-owner, Kim about my polish. The polish had to be done over anyway in order for me to do the red bottom design, at least that is what I was told the previous day. I'm ashamed to say I paid $33 for an unprofessional job. The manicure was 1/2 done, nails shaped poorly and were not uniformed at all. My red bottom polish replicated a worn out red bottom. (See pics attached) Monday, October 14th: I returned to repair the nail that I paid to have repaired on Saturday. Janet, the co-owner informed me that I must make an appt for a nail repair. I made another attempt to reach out to the co-business owner, Kim before doing my review to let her know how I was unfairly treated. Kim did say she could fix the red polish underneath my nails. I told Kim that it's no excuse for unprofessional services especially when you are paying for professional services. A few minutes later I posted the review. Immediately after I post the review, I received a call asking me to come in to repair my nail. I returned for my nail repair at 2 as we discussed but had to wait until 2:30. What was the purpose of making an appt? I could have waited earlier instead of being told to make an appt. Anywho, Janet repaired the nail. Tuesday, October 15th: Another nail broke so I contacted Janet and asked her to take off my nails and do an overlay. Janet cut my real nails which I didnt want and/or ask her to. She completed the overlay and I waited to see if I would have to ask her to shape the nail underneath, make the nails uniform, clean the red polish from underneath the nail. When I asked her these things, she mumbled in her native tongue. Her staff member immediately looked at me and walked away. The other staff member Kay, laughed and walked to the back. That's when I decided to continue with my review and make sure I publish the review for all other minorities to know how the service varies for different people. Love this place. My new place to go from now on. I came here less than a month ago because my husband wanted a couples mani/pedi. When that happens I always check Yelp for reviews first and this was the only place with the good ones. I've tried all of the nail salons in the area from Odenton to Gambrills and Crofton and none of them compare to Serenity Nails spa. The pedicures here are great. Kat is probably the best person I've ever gotten a pedi from. They last so long and take forever to chip. Not sure what she does, but if you need a pedicure this is the spot! I'm not sure who does the manicures, but every time I get someone different. They all chip within the day and the designs never come out right. If you are looking for a plain set, then Im sure that will be fine though. read more

What a pleasant surprise!!!! I was met by Amy. I was early and she had actually finished with her client early. From that initial meeting we talked and laughed like we had know each other for a long time. My pedicure was great! She trimmed my nails EVENLY!!! My first time at Serenity and I loved it. It was my birthday and Tina made me feel extra special. I got a special pedicure, the lemon grass, and it was worth it. I did a gel manicure in tiramisu OPI and it is exquisite; my nails were filed beautifully. Janet was on hand to support as well and gave me a gift for my birthday. This is my new go to. Kim is definitely an artist when it comes to doing nails! This is her Ombré glitter nails with the OPI Gel Polish. I love it! I usually keep my nails pretty plain but decided to try something different. I'm writing this review 2 weeks after getting my nails done (pics from that day & a day or two later) but my nails still look great and I'm still getting compliments. Kim also gives amazing pedicures! I've been multiple times and am a fan of Serenity Nails. They also have kids chairs so I can take my daughter and she LOVES it! Went in for a classic mani/pedi. The nail technician I worked with was Kert, I believe. He was rather rough and very rude to me. He also at one point while comparing the lengths of my nails, nicked my hand/wrist with the drill and that hurt. He also didn't provide a sugar scrub, hot towel, hand massage with lotion as part of the manicure. The manicure also took about 2 hours, which is way to long IMO. It looks good, but it's not perfect for taking 2 hours... The salon is great though and that's why I'm giving 3 stars, instead of 2. I'd beware of Kert though and ask for a different nail tech. read more

Really bad nail exp this time around. I should have waited for Katryna but she had just started with another client. Wanted to get a black matte set with gold star design. Turned out hideous. Had two different ladies, one did the base and one attempted the designs. Also had to move mid session. I had her wipe of the star designs because it was so bad! I just moved to this area and needed pedi more than badly. Lol I walked in and was created right away. The atmosphere was so nice and relaxing, I picked out my color and Kim took care of my pedi. They were really busy but kim was fast and efficient. She did have to bounce between me and the customer she did before me but I didn't mind I had time to relax. I have tried so many times to give this place a chance. This will be the last time. Not only did they raise their prices they have shorten their service and the quality is the WORST. I made a 10 o'clock apt for 3. They started all of us at different times. Last one being started was 1 hour and 1/2 later. I was done before they started on my daughter. The tech scrubbed the tender part of my foot not my callus she made me bleed. After that I would not put my foot in the water. I had plenty of time to observe as I waited for the other two to finish up and the worst part of this whole experience is watching them clean. They hardly put any effort into this b. I've been coming to this place since right before the pandemic but lately there's always an issue with my appointment - I came once with my son same appointment time after waiting for 30 (Helen - my favorite) I got my pedicure while my son waited the entire time and we ended up leaving after almost 2 hrs since I was done. Today I'm here for a pedicure and Jeanette totally ignored the fact that someone made two appointment for poor Helen and dismissed me with no solutions - thank God Helen worked it out with the other customer and I was able to get my pedicure. So I would really rather be able to give this place 3.5 stars because 3 nor 4 seems suitable. I've been here 4 times: once before covid around their opening and had an absolutely amazing experience. I've been here 3 times since the beginning of September this year to get the dip powder. The previous two times I got my nails done I had a nice experience as far as customer service goes. They're really nice people and I feel more comfortable here than compared to other places I've been. I was pretty happy with my nails and they look pretty but their dip powder does not seem to be very decent quality. I've had to get them done 3 times within the last two months because they start coming off after two weeks or before. I came here on Friday (10/22) and the powder has already started chipping only days after the application. (This is what my pictures are from.) She seemed to rush me out this last time because it was not as neat of a job as I've gotten done before but I was a walk-in so I did not have an appointment. I also got charged $65 the first time I came here, and the last two times I was charged $50. Im not sure where the price difference came in because I got the exact same service done each time. Overall I like them and I would go back, but if you are like me and get the dip powder for longevity purposes, this is not the place. Other places I've had the dip powder last for 3-4 weeks. read more
