I visited Serenity nails & spa based off a recommendation. I had an appointment with Judy. I was a bit late for my appointment and she still serviced me. I got a gel manicure and pedicure, she offered me wine, juice and water. They offer a variety of DND colors. I went with the color 783 melty sunshine, a beautiful neon yellow. I have received so many compliments. My manicure and pedicure came out beautifully. I paid a total of $80 for my service which is pretty topical. They is plenty of available parking. read more

Update on my previous review since I am pretty devastated and disappointed. I have been coming here for months-still never get offered a drink but ok. I noticed fungus under one of my nails last week and was like crap-I need to go get them soaked off. Well, add busy life and I had a delay until today. I got them soaked off and 2 of them are pretty bad. She asked me where I got them done and I told her I get them done here!! Showed her the normal lady and chair that I sit in (my normal tech was doing other nails) As she's finishing my service, she tells me not to put anything on my nails. I totally understand and that is where I am devastated. How am I supposed to go to work looking like this???????? This was not my fault. I come to professionals for a reason!!! Then she charged me $35 for a soak off and manicure with no polish. This should have been FREE Ma'am. I just paid, left a small tip and left. I don't think they have a clue at how affected I am by this. read more

They never asked me the type of pedicure and manicure I wanted. It has been a while since I had been to a salon so, I did not know that you are charged extra for everything thing that they do. When I questioned the Tech she just kept telling me the amount due. The prices listed on the website are not the prices I was charged. I love love love this salon! My techs names were Anna who did my pedi and Natalie who did my nails and nail art! Both listened to exactly what I wanted and I am over the moon pleased with the results! It's so hard to find a nail technicians that listen to you and do a good job. I'm so glad that I found this place. It was clean and beautifully decorated. The only reason I'm giving it four stars instead of five is because of the over our weight that I experienced after calling and being told that it wasn't a long wait at all. I had used this salon several times before and each time the service was a little worse, I tried tipping larger a couple times but they didn't help. Today was the worst service o have ever received at a nail salon in 25 Years of getting my nails done. The entire staff was rude, pushy and acted like I didn't deserve to be offered the water or the nicer pedicures, or even flip flops like they offered to everyone else at the end, instead the nail tech just kicked my shoes towards me at the end as of I was disease or something. I have never been so rudely dismissed anywhere before and I regret every dollar I spent at this establishment. Never again. I strongly encourage you to take your pedicure dollars to one of the many other competent and probably less expensive salons in Gambrills. read more

Visited this salon yesterday with a friend. I got a regular pedicure (I never get manicures) and I'm really impressed with this nail salon. Their prices are extremely fair and along with the 10% grand opening discount, I paid $31 for my classic pedicure--that includes the tip too! I had a horrible week due to a death in the family, so I came in on a Friday evening for some self care. When I walked in the door, no one acknowledged me. So I put my name on the list, sat down, and waited. After about 10 minutes, someone came to the front desk and I more formally requested a pedicure. She nodded and told me to sit back down. A few minutes later, she motioned me to the back to soak. When my pedicurist came to my bowl, he seemed annoyed and I'm not sure why. Anyways, I greeted him and handed him my color - white. I typically bring my own Zoya nail polish to salons because I'm allergic to most brands, except Zoya. I explained this to my pedicurist and he wasn't hearing me. First, he tried convince me that my white polish would not show up on my nail beds... as if it's not the official Black girl summertime toe color! Then, he tried to persuade me to use the salon's bottle of white polish. I had to explain to him THREE TIMES that I have an allergy. Despite being disbelieved, I kept my cool so I could try to enjoy the rest of the service. But this man did not hide the fact that he was displeased with me. Each time he used the exfoliating sponge, he haphazardly threw it in the bowl and hit my legs. And take a look at this sloppy shaping and polishing! I noticed some unevenness, so I asked him to re-do a couple nails before I went to dry. Unfortunately, I had to do some clean-up once I got home. I was recommended to this salon because I admired someone's else nail. Ive only been there once so far and they have only been in business at this location for about 2 months, but this is the nicest and cleanest nail salon Ive been too that wasnt a part of a high end spa!! Customer service was genuine and it has all talented and experienced technicians! After being disappointed with the customer service at Village Nail Bar, I was overly impressed with this location. If they had a better wine selection, I'd be there weekly!! Lol. All jokes aside, they have great color selections and have a large amount of spa services. Oh yeah, and if you are looking for Katrina she is here! She did my nails 3 weeks ago and they are still going strong with the exception of grow out! I will be there this week for service! Ive been seeing Chao for the past year and have constantly had great service. If you experience any particular issues with your feet, for example ingrown toenails, speak with the owner/manager Janet and she'll match you with a qualified technician. Many of my family and friends go to this Spa (some for many years) and no one has anything but positive feedback. I have had a few other techs at this salon and the others that I was pleased with left, for one reason or another, so when I started going to Helen, I was a bit skeptical. However, I was pleased with her service from the start. If there is ever anything I don't like or not pleased with, she immediately corrects it. Never pushy for additional services but always offering me options and she is ALWAYS patient. She's the best tech I have had at Serenity and the main reason I continue to return. We booked for three people- one is my daughter. Her first time- chosen because they have a little Elsa chair. They were terrible to us. Why? I have no idea. They were not that busy at all in the middle of the day Wednesday. They started on my friend while me and my daughter soaked for well on 25 minutes. Then they started on my daughter but the person who came to help her seemed to be mad about something. For a little six year old girl you're supposed to say hi how are you make it special etc. etc. She was not only NOT nice to her, she seemed just... irritated. I was left to soak another 20 minutes longer- so they both finished and had to wait for me to finish. The lady who was helping my friend was also in a mood. I kid you not this is weird. By the time she got to her pedi, she had to ask for somebody else because she is older and the rough handling got too much for her skin. No drinks offered, just bad service and it's a shame because the place looks nice and the work that Helen did on my personal nails was nice. We won't be back. Puzzling amount of bad. read more

I will start by saying I've been here a few times and generally have a good experience. Anne and Lynn are both great. However, I went in for my birthday to get a mani/pedi/eyebrow and the lady who did my mani was disgustingly rude. She spent half of the appointment on her phone texting, painting one nail at a time between texting. After each nail she painted she wanted my hand in the uv machine to the point that it overheated and was burning me. The worst part is when she asked if I wanted another coat towards the end and I simply stated "maybe on this nail to cover the white base" and she flipped out and yelled at me that she still had to buff it out. Her tone was so bad and soooo rude that everyone in the shop (customers and workers) stopped to stare at the commotion. The owner even came over to compliment my nails to diffuse the tension in a way. I am not sure if anything will be done to correct this behavior and improve her attitude. I did talk to the owner to let her know her employee's behavior was rude an unacceptable (especially on my birthday- this was supposed to be a relaxing outing!) Even though I liked the other ladies, I will go somewhere that doesn't let employees yell at respectful customers like little 2 year olds. This whole situation was absurd!!! read more

The owner (not giving her name because I don't want to share her ) has been doing my nails for years. When she left her former salon and opened her own I followed her. Serenity has not disappointed me. It's a beautiful place to get your nails done. It's clean and hygienic, which for me is the first thing I look for when visiting any nail salon or spa.
