3.5 stars This place is much bigger inside than it looks. It's not very wide, but goes back pretty far. I got a gel pedicure and I'm satisfied with how it looks. The most impressive thing to me was the selection of gel polish colors! So many to choose from, including several holographic, iridescent, and glitter polishes. I chose a polish that changes from purple, to gold, to green depending on the angle and lighting (I believe it's either 03 or 04?). The nail tech was pleasant and meticulous. Super careful, and she asked for my input various times to make sure I was getting what I wanted. I am very pleased with the result. Only real drawback was the massage chair that I got put in was stuck on the low back. It might sound picky, but when I'm paying $40 for a pedicure, the massage chair is part of the experience. Laughable. Complete waste of money. All I wanted done was a clean pedicure, remove the previous gel polish, clean the nails, and just apply clear polish. I had to ask her to clip my nails as well cos apparently it's not a standard thing to do when you want a pedicure. What did she do? Clipped the nail on my right big toe ONLY. I go during off-peak hours/days so there's never a wait. I will accept the first available technician because they have all done my pedicure at one time or another. The technicians are friendly and professional. Some speak English better than others. No real complaints ever, but if I see something I will speak up and they are very responsive. I always leave there with my feet looking and feel fresh and rejuvenate. I highly recommend trying them out. read more

The pedicure area is small- 4 chairs total. They use a new plastic covering in the basin for each pedicure. That's about the only level of cleanliness I can comment on. The place overall is old....maybe that's why it feels dingy and whack. The first guy doing my pedicure was just horrible. He didn't even file my toenails or use toe separators. He didn't say one word to me the entire time. I think Tyler sensed the disappointment in my face. He came and took over and tried to salvage the experience. I really appreciate his customer service and the rapport he builds with his customers. I would patronize him again under different circumstances, in a different salon, etc, but I can't go back here. I just can't. I want an experience. I want to be offered water. I want my cuticles to look moist after a fresh mani. I want my polish to look fluid and the shaping to be spot on. After spending months looking for a good salon in the area, I stumbled upon this one. I am a gel manicure aficionado, and am super picky about how they're done. Both Tyler and Lucy have done phenomenal jobs with my gel French manicure. They do not peel, and usually last no less than 3 weeks. Tyler is very knowledgable about proper nail care and spends the time to build a warm rapport, as well. As for the pedicures, the back area is clean and well kept - they even line the basin of each chair with a plastic bag, which a lot of salons do not do. Manicure was nice no massage of the hands though buts it's ok she did put on lotion. Overall I enjoyed the visit and I will go back. Customer service was good. Polish job was not. I was greeted upon entering and spoken to throughout my visit to see how things were going. I like that they use clean plastic to cover the bowls. The nail tech that did my nails Tin Le greeted me and asked my name and gave me hers. Tin Le was nice and did a good job cleaning, cutting and shaping my toes. I'm giving this place 4 stars, really a 3.5 because although Tin Le did well with shaping and cleaning she didn't do such a great job with painting my toes. Not only is there polish on my toes, she messed one nail up as she was sliding on the disposable sandal. She didn't notice so I pointed it out and asked if she could fix it which she did by just painting over it and then adding clear. It makes the polish look super thick which I hate. Stay away unless you want an infection. They do not clean their tools or bowls. They just dumped out the water from another customers' bowl and added new water for mine to soak my hands in. They also make up their own prices depending on their mood. When we got our nails done, we were told removing gel nail polish is free. When we came back to remove it, they made a scene in front of the whole store about paying when we were walking out. I'd recommend finding another place. Stopped in today because I was in NEED of a pedicure. After reading several reviews I was seconds away from going to another salon... BUT I decided to give them a chance. To my pleasant surprise my pedicure was decent. Nothing fancy... just basic. I got a gel pedicure and it turned out neat... clean edges.... cut cuticles... and a great polish job. I was in and out too! For a Saturday it was not packed at all (which had me a little nervous). The shop is okay... nothing too fancy or spa like. Overall it met my current need! Been going here for years and LOVE Ann's work her service is 5 star! The salon itself has gone down hill over years - Tyler needs to invest in renovating to compare to his increased pricing. Air barely works, WiFi is a hit or miss, prefers cash or cash app because he doesn't want to pay the visa fees, again the services itself no complaints but to be in Bowie and compare to other "upscale" salons it's not up to par... tried to give him feedback from being a long term client but it wasn't welcome so unfortunately I have to take my loyal biweekly appointments to another salon where I can pay for spa like pricing and the look/feel of a spa. When spending $75-90 biweekly you pay for the service and the comfortability....Mani/pedi services should be soothing not hot, muggy, phone may or may not work, etc...Good luck to you if this is your preference read more

My third time back and I can honestly say this place is one of the best. Got the mani/pedi and an eyebrow wax tonight. This time I saw Ann---I saw Tina and Tyler before---and she was just as good. The thing I love about this salon is that they are careful and they do listen. Tyler is the manager and he is with you every step of the way making sure you have a good experience. I wish other nail salons were managed this well. Also, everything is autoclaved and sterilized, I paid attention tonight. I think I may have replaced my beloved nail salon in New Jersey with these folks. I got another gorgeous mani/pedi and they took the time to make sure that the eyebrows were not some hastily done wax job. Highly recommend this place. I went to this salon on my lunch break for the first time today. I had a manicure and gel polish for only $27. To me, that is a steal because most places want to charge $10-12 for a manicure and then another $30 for the gel. The lady that did my manicure and gel paid attention to detail. She showed me the gel polish before she applied it and asked me if I liked the color once it was on. The manager came by to make sure I was pleased with my service, and he instructed the technician to apply another coat. They were very friendly, and I didn't feel like they were trying to up-sell every step or nickel and dime me. I walked away feeling like they appreciated my patronage which is a rare occasion for me when going to a nail salon. The salon is clean. The ambiance and design is not fancier than other salons in their price range, but it is not dated either .I was able to get in and out in less than an hour with no wait up front. This place was horrible. I asked to have my eyebrows threaded. Once she was done, she gave me the mirror. And I saw that one eyebrow was shorter than the other -_-. After growing out my eyebrows for two months, she completely ruins them by COMPLETELY threading off the tail of one eyebrow. And then she has the audacity to tell me she's done when clearly both of my eyebrows don't match. When I complained, she then tries to pluck off the tail of the other and I had to push her hand away before she destroyed that eyebrow too. Then to top it all off....she decides to try and draw in the tail to my jacked up eyebrow....when an eyebrow lady has to bring out a pencil that's when you KNOW your eyebrows are F--KED up. I'm so pissed right now...never again. I would give this place no stars but she at least didn't have me pay. *Again... I can't stress enough. DO NOT GO HERE. I don't think I will ever find a salon that meets the standards of my beloved place in NYC or Shirlington Village (Diana's Nails), so I won't compare against those two great establishments. It wouldn't be fair. Here's a snapshot of what I did and didn't like: What I like: - Very friendly staff. Tyler the manager was very accommodating and ensured I had a nice experience; - The staff didn't try to manipulate me into buying any other products or services; - Great nail polish color options; - Heating pad for shoulders; - The massage chairs while getting a pedicure - LOVE; and - Clean and organized What I didn't like: - Massage on hands and feet was short and felt rushed ( I will give it a pass since I did arrive later in the evening - close to their closing time.) - The technician that attended me did an awful job on my manicure. I had a great experience here today. I was a walk-in around noon time. I previously had my nails done in Crofton and had a bad experience, so I wanted to try somewhere new. I had a basic pedicure and dip powder manicure. My nails looks great and the staff was friendly and I was pretty much in and out. Tiffanee is extremely pleasant, punctual and excellent with hair care. She colored, trimmed and styled my hair and the styling lasted sufficiently for me to attend a formal event 2 days later. Since my hair is naturally curly and not chemically treated, this result for a straight style is even more impressive. My hair feels soft and manageable, not dried out from excessive heat. I am very happy with Tiffanee's services and plan to visit her on a regular basis. The only reason I'm not rating her 5 stars is because this rating will carry over to the nail salon, which I cannot recommend. After hair styling I decided to get a manicure. I was immediately seated and my manicure was great. My tech had great small talk and took great care of my nails. When I was done, Tyler cleaned up my brows. Went in with a friend to get nails done and only she ended up getting her nails done because i wanted dipping and they had so little color options and the swatches they showed me were so thick and horrible. The lady at the front desk was rude and had no idea what i was talking g about when i said dipping powder. My friend got a set of acrylics and 3 different people worked on her nails. One person removed the old polish, one person gave her the fill in and another person painted them. Never have a seen such a thing.
