What a disaster. I bought a Groupon to try them out. I used the Groupon app to schedule the appointment (following all the rules!) and it was accepted. I showed up 10 minutes early and was told that they were short staffed that day and I had to come back. Of course, that didn't call me to tell me that till I was already in the parking lot and getting out of my car. I wasn't happy about that but things happen so we rescheduled for the following week. I verified with then that my Goupon would still be valid as it expired in a couple of day, they assured me it would be. I showed up 15 minutes early for my new appointment and was told since the Goupon showed as 'Redeemed' I couldn't use it. Excuse me? We already had that discussion, it showed as redeemed because they accepted the appointment. She remembered me and remembered postponing the appointment but she told me I had to present her with a coupon which I obviously couldn't as the appointment marked it as redeemed. So they made the mistake and I'm supposed to eat the cost. I called Groupon and got my money back on the Groupon and they'll never see me in their place again. read more

I went to Happy Feet on a whim, as my previous therapist left their place of employment, and told me not to go back due to a few issues. There was someone in the front when I got there, and they greeted me professionally - not a warm "Cheers" type welcome, but not ice cold. She told me the price for a one hour massage was $50.00, so I decided to go ahead with it. Oh, and to contradict one of the previous reviews, there was no odor around. Perhaps that review caught it on a bad day. The bathroom is also clean. I always stop in it before a massage because if someone is going to be twisting and pressing on me, I want an empty bladder... The rooms themselves are decent - actual walls that go almost to the ceiling instead of curtains on the side, and a good double curtain as the door. Otherwise, it is a standard massage room that would fit in at most any reputable massage place. As some have noted, they use terrycloth towels instead of sheets or blankets. To me, that isn't a bother. If I'm going for a massage, I expect 95% of my body to be touched... the only "keep covered" parts are my front from my waist to my upper thigh... and the towel is more than sufficient for that. As for the massage itself, I can only speak for the therapist I had (whose name I didn't get). On the back, she was very good. Maybe not excellent, but satisfactory. But, as others have noted, she seemed to spend a lot of time on my face (which I hate being massages/rubbed with oil, but that is on me for not telling her no), and my feet. Once I flipped onto my back, she probably spent about 2 minutes total on my chest and upper thighs. So while the quality of the massage was decent, it wasn't a great overall "body-works" massage. I will say the therapist was respectful of personal space. I was charged the $50.00, but noticed quickly that was a special with a coupon. Regular price is $60, and I'm not sure I'd go back for that, especially since there are two local similar style places that offer 60 minutes for $49-$50 dollars (and one includes some passes with hot stones. Perhaps if I vocalized what I expected from the massage, it might have been more satisfying. But I usually don't do that the first time to see what the "Normal" massage is. Just had a horrendous experience with their staff. They don't speak English well, and the staff on duty have a misunderstanding of how Groupon works. My husband went for a massage and was charged the Groupon rate. So basically he paid twice. I went back with the printed coupon and original Groupon ad, and asked for a refund. The woman working told me several things: first, she couldn't issue a refund, then she was too busy to issue a refund, then because it is MLK Day the credit card company can't process a reverse charge. When I asked for the owner or manager I was told they're in China. WTF???? I'm all for immigrant owned businesses, but the staff in charge should have decent customer service skills and a working knowledge of transactions. read more

Where to begin...when I walked in, everyone who has ever worked at this place was staring at me. They didn't greet me or even say hello. One woman just said, "follow me". It was awkward as she tried to make me pay before I had the massage. I should have known then that this would not be an average massage experience. I was escorted to a small room where I was instructed to get undressed. It was unclear which end of the table to lay my head, and there was no blanket to cover my body. I grabbed a towel that was folded at the foot of the table (assuming it was meant for this purpose) and awkwardly covered myself as I lied down. Let me just say that I've been to many spas for professional massages and I've never experienced anything quite like this. Over the course of an hour I was massages by 3 different women. Whenever someone would come in the front door, my massage therapist would leave the room to go help the person at the front desk. If that wasn't weird enough, the walls between the rooms don't go all the way to the ceiling and the "door" is actually a (slightly see-through) curtain. The women would periodically yell from room to room to talk to each other and it totally took away from the relaxation of the spa experience. I won't go into detail, but these women massaged places that I would have appreciated a heads-up for. With all that being said, the actual massage was AMAZING. I left feeling completely relaxed and rejuvenated, which is why I gave Happy Feet 3 stars. A few small changes would make this a 5-star massage place, but I felt too uncomfortable to rate my experience that high. I hate leaving negative reviews, but I really feel Happy Feet deserves this one. Let me first say that I went there last spring and had a WONDERFUL experience. The visit I had yesterday was the complete opposite. I called ahead to request an appointment for a deep tissue massage at 1pm. I told her I had a Groupon, and the lady on the phone told me, "No problem". I arrived a few minutes before 1, was taken into a room by the woman in front, got ready, and laid down on the table. First negative: I used a terry-cloth towel (not a sheet or blanket) to cover me up. And it did not cover me up. Fortunately, it was not all that cold yet. After a minute, the older lady from out front came in with a younger lady. They were speaking in their native language, and I figured they were just communicating that I was there for a deep tissue massage. The older lady left, and the young one proceeded with a very gentle massage with my towel still on. After a few minutes, I asked if she was going to use oil or lotion. Well, she did not speak any English. That's fine, because the older lady came in a translated. The young lady resumed with lotion and I could hardly feel a thing! After a minute, I asked if she could use more pressure. Again, the older lady came in translated, and then showed her how to do it! I told the older lady that I had come in for a 60-minute deep tissue massage, and I didn't want to be the person that she trained her young assistant on. The older lady apologized and told me that the man who does the deep tissue was busy for the next 20 minutes. But she assured me that it would be worth the wait. The young lady then proceeded to give me THE WORST foot massage for 20 minutes. No pressure, no relief...Just a waste of 20 minutes. The room was also getting colder. I asked for a blanket, and received another towel. So now it's 30 minutes into my 60-minute deep tissue massage, and "deep tissue man" comes in. He is the exact opposite of the young lady. I felt like I was being steam-rolled. I am BRUISED today from it. This guy was using his whole arm to steam-roll my back. Several times I asked him to "take it easy". (SIDE NOTE: let me just say that I LOVE deep tissue massage; I have had several. I know how it should be done. The idea is not to make it as painful as possible! Deep tissue massage is a science and an art. It involves TARGETED pressure at specific points, designed to remove the "knots" from your muscles. While it is sometimes painful, it is a "productive" painful, not a "let's see how much pain I can cause this woman" painful.) This process lasted for half an hour. So I'd gotten my 60-minute "massage", but did not get what I had come for. When it was all over, I dressed, went out to reception, and the older lady asked "how do you feel?". I told her that I was not happy with the massage; that the first 30 minutes were wasted, and the last 30 minutes were not the type of deep tissue massage I was used to. A good business would probably - at this point - offer a gift certificate. Instead she asked "would you like to leave a tip?". Uh.....I really did not know what to say at this point. As nicely as possible, I said "thank you, but I don't think I will be coming back." She apologized - and I really think she was sort of sorry. So that's my review. Everyone was Very nice, and I am not complaining at attitude or anything like that. But the service was definitely not what I wanted. And they made no effort to try to keep me as a customer. Just left this place couple of hours ago and as usual both my wife and I had an excellent service. We have been coming here for years and I personally never had a bad experience, it's a little place with usually 2 people working. It's not like the chain spa/massage places with locker rooms, robes and seating/waiting area, but the people are friendly specially the main lady who is there all the time and most important the massages are wonderful. I just experienced a wonderful massage here! I arrived 10 minutes prior to my 1 PM appointment. I was immediately greeted by a woman who then retreated back down the hall. I didn't see anyone else until 1:07 PM. I was led to a small room with tranquil music playing. I was worried that our late start would cut into my massage time, but I received the full 60 minutes of attention. My masseuse paid the most attention to my shoulders and my feet. Very disappointed experience. My headache was even getting worse. I can feel her fingernails scratching me throughout the session. When I get home & take a shower, I found a bruise on my lower back. No wonder why it hurts while receiving the massage. I was wordless.....I had so many massages and a lot from Asian massage parlor which the masseuses don't speak English well but very welcoming and professional with great skill. Don't expect anything fancy at all. This is not a high end spa. However, what was good was the massage. Nice and hard when needed and very relaxing. The masseuse I had was nice, professional and did a great job. Again, this is NOT a high class spa. There are no lovely, sniffy oils or anything like that. You're not pampered like a queen. This is a bare bones good hard massage. Suggestion: I would have preferred they use a blanket or even a sheet to cover you while being massaged but the towel was fine. Prices are very reasonable - I'd rather have a great massage in a less magnificent place than a crap massage in lovely surroundings. If you feel the same, try this place out. This place is horrible! I went in for a 30 minute back massage since I was having some tightness in my lower back. It was supposed to cost $20 as advertised, but then I was charged $30. The massage was so rough and painful that I now have to ice my back since its actually swollen from the rough massage. I told her several times that it was way too rough yet she just continued and may have even got rougher. It's possible that she didn't understand English. She spent the entire 30 min on my very upper back and neck and rubbed and pinched my skin so hard while "massaging" that I actually thought she may have broken my skin and caused bleeding. It was so bad that I actually thought I was being filmed for some prank tv show. I couldn't wait for it to end and I wanted to get up and leave several times during the torture and I really wish I had since I'm in so much pain now. I never write reviews but felt I had to for this one. Perhaps I just got a horrible massage technician, but the entire experience was just sketchy!! I used a Groupon for this a few months ago. I've used Groupons at other Spa's in the same price range and to be honest I've seen much better. The salon doesn't have the same soothing feel to it as most places in the lobby. The massage was just okay. I asked for a soft massage because I have sciatic issues. I have had probably 15 massages in my life and never had an issue. Each time she moved to my lower back it hurt. I kept telling her that area she has to be gentle but she didn't listen. The woman working on my feet didn't have a sense of reflexology or even massage at all. She provided a dull, light rubbing foot massage with no energy or focus - just as if she was applying lotion rather than massaging. At one point, she actually fell asleep, leaning over my feet. Towards the beginning of the massage, the therapist that started the massage left to give another customer a massage and a new therapist came in (No one communicated about why this change was made and what the therapists name were.) I stopped the massage with 10 minutes left because I was so uncomfortable. The therapist did not put the blankets (a bath towel) on the areas she was not massaging, so I was completely exposed most of the massage, which made me very uncomfortable. I was unable to relax and ended up being more stressed and having a migraine the rest of the day. I am now looking for another place to give me a proper, enjoyable massage and to correct the damage done by this massage experience. read more

Let me start off by saying the massage itself was great, however I was very disappointed by the end of my hour session. The lady who was sitting at the front desk, answering the phone was the one who greeted me and gave me the massage. The phone rang loudly during my session more than 6 times and she carried on a conversation while she was massaging me. Every time someone walked in the door she left me to talk to the person who walked in. That happened about 4 times. I was ready to get up and leave, but I didn't want to make a scene or be rude. There was not much privacy in this spa, only curtains that separate the hallway. You could hear the chimes on the door every time someone opened it and voices from the waiting room. I rated this spa 3 stars only because the massage was nice. Unfortunately, I couldn't relax here at all and if your used to going to a nice spa I wouldn't recommend this one. I paid 35$ for an hour massage from groupon. (My first time using groupon) you get what you pay for. Happy Feet could have a lot better customer service if there was just one person at the front desk instead of the same person answering the phone while giving the massage. I'm not sure if they were short staff, I just left disappointed because I made an appointment days before and was just really looking forward to nice relaxing massage. I hope Happy Feet Spa can read over their reviews and fix this issue because I'm not the first person this has happened to.
