This spot is soooo busy but it's so beautiful and some of the best matcha I've had in sac!! Service is good despite how bust the workers are and the ambiance is amazing. I wish there was more seating bc this is the perfect spot to yap and sun bathe.
I finally stopped in for the first time after Sun House Cafe's move to Capitol Ave, next to Fieldwork. It's a cute little shop with seating inside and outside. When I stopped in there was a long line, and customers were continuously coming in while I was there. The two people working were friendly and working hard to keep up with the orders. I ordered a hojicha with banana cream ($7.50), and an earl grey latte ($6.50). Everyone else was ordering matcha, but I still haven't acquired the taste so I was excited to see how their other offerings were. One piece of feedback I have would be to re-think the arrangement of the shop. Currently, they have the line on the left side of the shop that has a small corridor that also leads to the bathroom. On the same wall as the line is a table with lids, napkins, and other coffee accessories/needs. Because of the current arrangement you have to walk through the line of people to get out to wait for your drink after ordering and back through the line to get to the lids. I'm sure as they settle in they'll make adjustments, but it was packed and a bit chaotic while I was there. The drinks were delicious! I liked the banana cream on the hojicha and I really enjoyed the earl grey syrup in the latte, though I would have liked the latte to be a bit more coffee forward- maybe next time I would order an extra shot of espresso in it. I'm excited to visit again when they're more settled into the new location.
went to visit sun houses new location and i loved it!!!! it's much more spacious but they kept the open cafe look. they have an ADORBS photobooth but it wasn't working when i was there! they now have a more standard menu but i hope they continue doing the little seasonal ones as well. my matcha was perfect as usual, the only downfall is the parking is TERRIBLE! other than that loved the new cafe and new look! was even able to get a new little stamp card as well!
This matcha was absolutely delicious and perfectly balanced! It had a rich, bold flavor with just the right amount of sweetness. I personally loved it, especially because it wasn't overly milky and the matcha flavor really stood out. The mango sticky rice matcha was also delicious--sweet, flavorful, and not bitter at all. Service was quick, and the baristas were friendly and helpful. The café itself was clean, nice, and welcoming. Overall, I was really impressed with the quality and flavor of the drinks. I'll definitely be coming back! The only downside was the limited parking.
Small place, with limited seating. There is seating, but maybe less than 15 people could fit. If it's full, I'd assume that it would be an even tighter fit, as the line would be weaving through. I feel like I should have gotten matcha here, after seeing all the reviews. I got a banana cream latte, and it was alright. I'm not sure if I'd get it again. At first sip, I wasn't the biggest fan. However, after a while I think i got used to it. We also got a brown sugar latte, and compared to other places that we've had the same drink from, we weren't the biggest fan of the offering here. Their seasonal menu does change; it's not a faux seasonal menu. Stuff I had seen from other reviews weren't available anymore, which is a shame as I had wanted to order those initially. They had baked goods, and I feel like I can speak with 99% confidence that they're not from there. As a result, we didn't try.

I found the banana and matcha balanced well and it wasn't too milky or diluted. The coffee shop is very small, only a small bench inside and no tables, no seating outside either. The worker was nice and their menu looks good. I would come again to try other drinks.
Finally got to check out the Sun House Cafe this summer! Staff were friendly and helped me narrow down a drink. I ended up ordering the banana cream Matcha and it was absolutely delicious. And I do not like Matcha, but thoroughly enjoyed this drink and can't wait to buy again. Looking forward to trying more of their drinks in the future.
Went to there new location and it's cute, simple and open concept was inviting. I got the strawberry matcha, which was creamy and delicious. Not too bitter or too sweet it was the perfect matcha. I'll deff come back to try some of their other drinks, I want to try the earl grey fosho! They had a little photo machine too which was cute, and afterwards walked down the street to the farmers market.
The service was great and fast, especially considering how busy they were. They also have a punch card, which was a nice touch! We tried four different drinks, and overall, they were a bit underwhelming. If you're not a fan of sweeter drinks, I'd recommend asking for less sweetness so you can actually taste the matcha. I also wasn't sure if the amount of ice in the Strawberry Matcha and Vanilla Matcha was standard, but it felt like an excessive amount.
Sun house cafe is a cute revolving door of fun creative flavors and amazing vibes. The storefront is no bigger than the average coffee shops back of house, but it holds home to such an efficient and amazing team. The staff is incredibly kind, and the drinks are well crafted. It is CLEAN, curated, and is something to talk about loudly. Their matcha is amazing, but honestly all their drinks are. If I lived in Sacramento I'd be here daily.
I have been dying to check out Sun House Cafe - I had heard nothing but good things about their cafe! I can't even tell you how excited I was when I found out they were coming to my work and catering for our work event! They had 2 drinks to keep up with the large crowd, a cold brew and a Matcha - with a banana cream top and sea salt caramel cream top I believe. I tried both, but I was a big fan of the Matcha which I thought I would never say! I am not a fan of Matcha, but man, was theirs good! The banana cream top took it over...the top! Staff were all really sweet and did a great job getting through the constant long line! While I have yet to actually visit Sun House Cafe, I can confidently say that their coffee is great! I heard multiple people say that their Matcha was one of the best they have ever had! I cannot wait to try their Matcha and other drinks again! I will be visiting very soon! Check them out!
With so many new cafés popping up in Sacramento, it can be hard for one to stand out--but Sun House Cafe's banana matcha is definitely worth the visit. The café is on the smaller side, with just a handful of tables and some bar seating if you're lucky enough to snag a spot. I tried the banana matcha with oat milk ($8) and really enjoyed it. The toffee and banana bits are so yum. I also appreciate their cup sizes are decently large and they do NOT charge extra for milk substitute!! While the matcha wasn't quite as rich or strong as I typically prefer, the unique flavor combination and the café's cream-topped drinks made it a worthwhile experience.

Service is super nice! The place is very cute and pleasing to the eyes. The line gets insanely long during the weekends, but it's fine during the weekdays. Parking can also be a pain the ass. They unfortunately don't have a phone number as of now so hopefully the business gets one soon! We got the strawberry matcha, double matcha and banana matcha. I know they're know for the banana matcha, but my favorite was actually the strawberry matcha. It tasted very fresh and not artificial. It had a good strawberry to matcha ratio. I got the banana matcha with an extra shot of matcha and I thought it tasted good and not too strong even with the extra shot. Maybe since I got an extra shot, I didn't taste the banana as much so I'll be trying it as it is next time! The double matcha was also pretty yummy. Matcha wasn't too strong or lacking! What I like about this place is that they don't charge extra to substitute the milk. They also do stamps so do ask for it if you plan to go regularly! They also have this Photo Booth thing that prints out pictures that look like receipts for free!! I will definitely be going back. read more
This place is busy. Great friendly staff They really answer your questions and make sure once the drink is made they ask if you need something else let them know. Churro Latte is what I got. Had to get more syrup to sweeten it up. Delicious with whole milk and the foam on top was airy. I would come back if I lived in Sacramento read more

Sunhouse Cafe just relocated to a larger space, and their new place is beautiful! I love how they added elements for creating memories, like their photo booth, and how thoughtfully they decorated the entire space inside and out. They have clipboards up front with their menus and utensils provided on the side, which makes everything super easy and convenient. My friend and I tried: * Banana Cream Matcha 9/10 * Banana Cream Latte 9/10 You seriously can't go wrong with either! They were both so good, and I will definitely be back! read more

Sunhouse has become my go-to spot for matcha. They're always rotating in seasonal drinks and new menu items, which keeps me coming back to see what's next. On my most recent visit, I tried their Honey Lavender Matcha with lemon cream (they were out of vanilla), and it was so good. I found myself savoring every sip just to make it last a little longer. They also had pastries this time, which was a nice surprise since they didn't have any during my last visit. read more
Cute little cafe to stop by. Parking: free street parking Menu: keep changing except regular matcha latte, regular coffee. For example: banana latte or ube latte are seasonal. Service: friendly, decent speed A lot of people working in small space: 4-5 The spot is tiny so only have a few seatings, it is more of pick up and go than hanging out in extended period of time. Matcha drink is good quality and not overly watered down. They also sell accessories and knit knat ornaments next to the cashier. read more
I personally really like this place! My friend has a vendetta against the coffee because it is made using a home espresso machine, and tastes bitter to her. I'm somewhat picky around about coffee and I actually don't mind it at all - perhaps it's the sweet flavors that mask, but I really like their espresso drinks. I've tried the fruity pebbles and the banana cream iced lattes and I would definitely come back!! Their Matcha is just okay. It looks like they pre-mix it in a pitcher and it definitely tasted watery. Definitely not the worst matcha I've had by any means, but if you've had good Matcha, then maybe this is a place to only try once (or just skip)! It's very small inside, just some bench seating. Parking is not great, it's street parking, but I've always found a spot about a block away (like a one minute walk). read more
Looking for good matcha on socials and found this spot. Small cafe, has lots of trinkets to look at inside. Saw they had a strawberry crunch matcha but was seasonal item so they no longer served it. The ube coconut matcha is spot on and definitely a dessert type of matcha. Ube cold foam is thick, creamy, vanilla flavors topped with coconut flakes. Matcha is clean and pairs well with sweet cold foam. read more
Okay my friend and I came to Sun House Cafe on April 1st around 11:40 a.m. We had seen this new coffee spot pop up on our Instagram reels as places we should check out and we decided to give it a shot. I will say that it has been a long time for me where I had to force myself to slow down and not suck down my drink. These drinks that we got which were the seasonal drinks, the matcha fruity Pebbles drink and the sea salt caramel drink were out of this world. The fruity pebble seasonal drink was just a throwback to childhood nostalgia because as I drink it I remember sitting in front of the TV watching Saturday morning cartoons and letting my fruity Pebbles cereal get mushy so that it could flavor the milk. Add the addition of matcha to it which gives it that yummy earthy taste it was just a brilliant combination together. My friend, who's not a big coffee drinker, was extremely surprised by how well balanced the flavors were in his drink. He talked about how the sea salt really helped make it a bit more savory but didn't take away from the sweetness of the caramel. He, to my surprise, actually finished his drink before me because it was that good. I am definitely excited to come back and try the other seasonal items that pop up throughout the year. I would also love to try the bit of pastries that were available. Did not do it because we had just eaten a snack and we really wanted to focus on the drinks while we were there. Oh and totally forgot about the Ambiance and the service. Both were just charming is the easiest word to use. The space is small but intimate and very welcoming. The individual that helped us behind the order counter was super helpful, answered all of our questions, and even gave recommendations based on the limited supply that they had for the day as many people had come in for coffee that morning. I saw this place on tik tok and thought it was super cute so I decided to come check it out! It's pretty small and we came on a Saturday so of course it was very packed but the drinks came out great! I got their banana matcha and it was delicious, I'm glad I chose that over their regular latte. Since they're known for their matcha I would highly recommended getting it if you were to visit because it tasted so good and fresh! The banana chips were a nice additional crunch. I wish the actual place was bigger because it got so overwhelmingly busy that i felt almost claustrophobic lol but honestly what can they really do about it. They made the wrong drink for my friend but immediately fixed their mistake! Anyways, I'd definitely recommend if you're looking for some good matcha in sac! read more
cute but crowded and the music was loud for how small the place is. got the strawberry matcha latte which is good but the matcha itself is okay, a little bit grassy tasting imo. the drink is perfectly sweet and creamy, and the strawberry flavor is prominent, which helps with cutting out the grassy flavor of the matcha. FYI for matcha connoisseurs, they don't mix the matcha by hand/whisk. also got the banana coffee latte which was good. the coffee flavor wasn't too strong which i didn't mind, and the banana flavor was on the mellow side which i actually appreciated, as banana tends to dominate as a flavor. i loved the toffee bits they put on top, super yummy. service was okay, i didn't have a bad experience with the workers like other reviewers did, but they weren't overtly friendly or enthusiastic either which is fine. read more
I was recommended to try Sun House by many and finally had the chance to try it. I got the matcha latte and banana matcha. Out of the two, I definitely recommend the banana matcha. It is perfectly sweet and delicious, and the banana cream was so tasty. This is the best banana matcha in Sacramento in my opinion. The whole milk here isn't lactose free, but they have oat and almond milk for alternatives. The employees are super nice and outgoing. The cafe itself is small with very minimal seatings and can be loud so I wouldn't recommend it to be a studying spot. read more

I'm not sure what took us so long, but we finally made it in to Sun House Cafe. Parking was a bit of a struggle, but well worth it!!!! We didn't have to look at the menu, we went for the Banana Latte and Banana Matcha. The Banana Latte was delicious. The banana Cream on top is the BEST I've ever had! And love the toffee pieces and banana slice on top! Perfect touch! My daughter's Banana Matcha was just as good. The perfect amount of banana. AMAZING! Would love to try the Churro series next but kinda stuck on the banana. Maybe I'll go double fisted next time. 10/10 read more

I ordered the Double Matcha at 100% sugar. The matcha foam actually had a nice matcha flavor which was the best part of the drink. Unfortunately, the drink itself wasn't for me It tasted very astringent and left my mouth feeling dry. I just drink half of cup my throat felt uncomfortable. I was hoping the full sweetness would help balance the flavor, but it still wasn't an enjoyable drinking experience for me. Based on my personal preference the matcha quality tasted fairly average. If you're curious, it may still be worth trying once to see if you like it. Personally, I don't think I'd order it again. read more
Two baristas working, which feels like the max for the space. The barista was friendly and soft-spoken. I ordered the iced Churro Latte and Banana Crème Latte. Loved the Churro, well balanced and not overly sweet. My co-worker enjoyed the Banana Crème as well. Both drinks were very aesthetic and I'd come back to try other flavors. Street parking only, park on the street where you can't turn right, you'll have to go around the block. The area has homeless folks, but mornings are quieter. Sun House Cafe is very small with limited seating meant more for waiting than hanging out. 3 stars mainly due to the location and small interior. read more
The drinks here are amazing! I've heard of Sun House Cafe by word-of-mouth and wanted to see what the crazy was about. One time here and they got me SOLD! They are located in Midtown in a busy area. Parking can be a pain due to all the construction and compact area, but luckily we were able to find street parking. Not much of a line when we came and the staff were super nice. Menu was larger than I thought! They have their house lattes, tea, matcha, non-caffeinated, and a seasonal menu. I got the Banana Cream Hojicha and wow was it delicious! The banana cream was made on point and has dried bananas as well. Great banana flavor that complimented the Hojicha tea, which can be nutty. Their matcha drinks are also very good and had great flavor. We also opted to purchase their banana pudding ($7) and it was delicious! They had a few other unique pastries too that I will try next time. read more
Came on a Wed before thanksgiving! It was relatively empty around 1pm. I've been wanting to try for a while now. I love seasonal menus and wanted to try the peppermint. the cafe itself is really cute and street parking wasn't bad at all. It's nice that you are able to see them prep the drinks. Peppermint Matcha- flavoring wasn't anything special, cream top seemed a bit flat and bland taste, only peppermint was the topping. a bit disappointed. Banana cream top hojicha- better!! but flavor wasn't completely there either. Had better. Overall, maybe i came on an odd day? Maybe one day I will try again. read more

I've seen Sun House all over social media, so I was exited to finally try it. I went during the week so there wasn't a line. The employees were all super friendly. I ordered the banana matcha and strawberry matcha cookie. The banana matcha was delicious - perfectly creamy, sweet, and I loved the little crunchy bits. The strawberry matcha cookie was not my favorite flavor, but I did like the soft and chewy texture. Overall, solid matcha spot. I would return and recommend. read more
Sun House Cafe- An adorable little coffee shop on 16th street. No parking lot. Street parking only! I felt like I kept seeing people rave about this place so I had to go try it! It's a very small coffee shop with limited space. I ordered an iced chai with the Banana cream on it! It took quite awhile to come out- the place was packed. 8.5/10! I couldn't really taste the chai because of the Banana cream. It really just tasted like a banana coffee. I wasn't mad about it! Sun house also had some cookies and pastries. It was decorated for Halloween! The staff were very nice! Would love to come back to try more of the menu! read more

Great spot for lattes and matcha! I tried the iced chai latte with banana foam (recommended by my daughter) and it was so good! I tried a sip of my daughter's matcha and it was delicious as well - not too sweet with the right amount of bitterness. Will definitely be back. read more
