Nice open spacious ambiance. It's self seating / first come first serve, which i personally think is hard for this kind of establishment, especially on weekends. I've seen multiple groups of people having to wait around for a table to clear or there's groups of 4+ but only a table that can seat 2 available. I hope they change their seating system, or at least have something in place for the weekend. The staff here are nice. You can order with a staff at the counter or order through the QR code at your table. Here's everything that we tried and what I think of them: Ube Latte 8/10 It was good. When ordering through the QR code, the sweeteness options are extra sweet, half sweet, and less sweet, in that order. I wish they had a percentage option instead. Ube French Toast 8.5/10 Delicious, I think they fry it. Steak & Fried Rice 6.5/10 Rice was room temp/almost cold and the steak was a little too salty for my liking. Steak Longevity Noodles 7/10 Steak had the same taste like the steak and fried rice dish, and was salty. The noodles were cooked perfectly, but the sauce was on the salty end as well. Silk Egg 6.5/10 Interesting dish. Not what we expected. It's a poached egg over what almost tastes like a tzatziki sauce. Comes with a Chinese fried donut to eat it. Side of Fries 10/10 Perfectly cooked - crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. The white sauce (assuming aioli?) we dipped it with was good. It's nice they rotate their menu. I look forward to coming back and trying other items.
18 grams is one of my favorite local spots in Sac. I have been to all the locations and I used to frequent the Arden often when I worked down the street. This location is the one I prefer meeting up with friends because of the size and ambience. And I especially love Frankie Gamez' mural at this location (so beautiful!). Street parking is all around so it is fairly easy to find parking depending on the time of day. My go to meal here is the longanisa rice bowl with extra jalapeños, but I tried the Peach Phuzz pancakes on my last visit and loved them (especially the coconut whip on top). Granted, no pancake will be as good as the now defunct Harry's (still mourning over that closure but hope he's enjoying his retirement!) But if you're a pancake fan I recommend this one. The 1987 and Vietnamese Hazelnut are delicious, and their tea lattes are good too. For sweet items, I like their mochi muffins, and their ube & pandan cookies. Lots of seating and an ample patio area where you can people watch.
Came in with my girlfriend during the weekend, after learning that her friend had a new location downtown. We've been to the original location in Elk Grove several times, and the one off Arden several times as well. And now the newest location located right behind the ice blooks. Space wise this is definitely their largest location to date, and includes a bar where you can actually get alcoholic drinks if that suits you. Because it was late morning and we'd just come from Jiu Jitsu class. We stopped in to grab ourselves some breakfast burritos for us and our boys. Decor was really nice and carried on the notable mural theme from the other 2 locations. Just slightly different like the other two, to make ir unique to this location. Breakfast burrito, bacon (2x) Breakfast burritos, sausage Overall: The burritos were bomb, and we'll definitely have to stop back in when in the area. For sure for breakfast again, but we all want to dine in for lunch and or for dinner.
I first heard about Forever from one of the foodie YouTubers I watch (Feed MeiMei) and of course I had to check it out shortly after watching her episode! I've had 18 Grams at their other location by Arden before and loved their coffee, so I was excited to try out their food. This location is in midtown, so finding parking is as expected for being centrally located. We came on a Sunday and it was bustling. The ube latte was a no-brainer to order, and I told my husband to order the Vietnamese hazelnut latte. To go with my ube latte, I promptly ordered the ube HK French toast, while my husband ordered the breakfast burrito with bacon, since he wanted something lighter. It ended up being the perfect choice for him since my toast was ginormous. We took a number and headed to find a table. Thankfully, there was a cozy corner spot, but man was the rest of the cafe packed. When my toast arrived, I honestly wasn't expecting it to be huge, but wow I definitely got my money's worth. It was the perfect amount of sweetness as well, since ube itself isn't too sweet. I've never been a fan of anything too sweet, so this was excellent. The toast itself was pillowy on the inside and crispy on the outside for a lovely crunch. I loved the amount of ube my French toast came with, and shared a few slices with my husband. The fruit was fresh as well. He enjoyed his breakfast burrito, and stated that it was filling without being heavy, and that the salsa was correctly done. As a native Mexican, he is picky about his salsas, and he said this was authentic. The coffees were delightfully strong yet well-balanced. The ube in my latte shone through nicely, and so did the hazelnut in my husband's latte. I loved that they served the lattes in glass cups when you dine in. We enjoyed some of our drinks while eating our brunch and then got the rest to go. While they bring your food and drinks to your table, you're expected to bus your own tables after you finish your meal, which was fine with us, as it streamlines the tasks for the workers. We rarely have brunch, but this place was delicious, and we will definitely be back to try some other dishes Forever has to offer! Next time I'll also order their ube matcha, and the steak longevity noodles have caught my eye.
Love the vibe of this place! Came here for casual brunch and it was easy to find a table after ordering at the counter. The burrito and breakfast sandwich was good, the burrito was big so I took some home. The Ube French toast was ok, a little too sweet. Both drinks were delicious! Would definitely come back!
Street parking only! Decent size location with seating outside and in. Lots of TVs Menu very limited Came with a party of 5 on a Monday during brunch time. You order and pay using a QR code. They ran out of steak for their burrito but had bacon so all good. Not a traditional breakfast restaurant. Leans more Asian inspired. We all got something different CHECK PIC. My bowl was perfection. I ordered it for its simplicity because a lot of their dishes had a type of pickled veg. If I could change one thing about my bowl It would be light yum yum sauce. We all got different drinks. My Vietnamese coffee was perfectly balanced and a huge size! The Ube matcha was actually so good (I dont usually like/order ube items) if I go back i would order that and my bowl again.
My favorite morning spot goes PM! You have to try the food, its ALL amazing! Its so great to see that they have expanded their hours. All that and keeping the great quality service and food. Also hosting some pretty popular events. Whats next?

Pleasantly surprised that I actually enjoyed the breakfast burrito. I also tried the "Tumi", a tea latte. It was on the sweet side, but a nice compliment to my meal. They have self-serve utensils and water along the wall (on the same side as the windows/doors). The interior feels a more on the dimly lit side, likely due to the dark ceiling and mural. Parking: Free street parking (1-hour limit, not enforced on Sundays or holidays), plus garage and metered street options (also free on Sundays/holidays). Restroom: Two unisex restrooms. Very clean and bright. Code required for entry. Cocktails (Chinese zodiac-themed: fun touch): * Pig - Ginger Rose Daiquiri ($15): Rum, ginger liqueur, rose, cranberry * Rabbit - Jasmine Gimlet ($15): Gin, jasmine tea, lime Food: Chicken katsu and ube/pandan cookies are standouts. What's interesting is their pricing style, lots of repeating numbers like $7.77 or $8.88. Even the table and order numbers follow the theme. I was seated at table #8 and got order #88... might be a sign to buy a lotto ticket ;)
4.5 stars!!! The vibe here is modern, chill and hip. This is an order by QR code at your table and they will bring out your foods but you are expected to bus your table afterwards. Meter parking along the streets. The reason why this is not a full 5 stars was because the coffees, although good just not robust enough. Good though here was exceptional. The egg sandwich with sausage had the perfect fluffy egg with chives in a nice toasty bouncy bread, the longanisa breakfast burrito was unique and epic! And last but not least the Ube filled HK style French Toast was seriously so good...we would order all these again but saw some other good dishes that our neighbors had ordered like the longevity noodles and steak rice smelled intoxicating...that would make one salivate.
It's giving cute and chique. The dragon mural was 90s photo shoot vibes. At first walk-in I was in love. I thought it would be a coffee shop but it was so much more than that. Service was really quick and moved the morning line with ease. We got the 1987 and the caramel sea salt cold brew. For food I got the avocado toast and added smoked salmon. The verdict : coffee yum, and toast good . Would come back .

So yummy! The coffee was delicious and so was the food! The service was quick and the workers were super friendly! Ambiance was so chill, I took my niece with me and she knocked out in 5 minutes (usually takes her 30 lol!) Def will be coming back! read more

Came here excited to try the Ube Latte which was great but the French toast was disappointing. It begs for syrup or coconut milk. It was extremely dry and hard. Really hard to eat. Imagine a dry stuffed French toast that's dry inside and out. Wasn't good to me. The coffee was great and service was good. read more
I love their coffee shops so we were excited to try this spot. I was looking forward to try their custard filled French toast. Maybe in my head I thought the custard was going to be creamy and thick but it was dry and a very thin layer. Couldn't really taste it as it wasn't a creamy custard. Their breakfast sandwich was good. And I saw other dishes that looked delicious. The drinks were good. It's a beautiful place with plenty of seating indoors and out. Parking can be difficult since it's downtown. read more

I've been to Forever by 18 Grams 2 times and really enjoy their creative Asian fusion brunch concept. The menu has a fun mix of flavors that you don't usually find at a typical café. Food (4/5): We tried the Ube French Toast, Shrimp Noodle Salad, and the Longanisa Sando. The Ube French Toast is definitely worth ordering--the ube flavor is rich without being overly sweet. I do miss the older version with the ube cream though; I thought it was even better. The toast itself is a little on the oily side since it's fried, but the flavor is still delicious. The Shrimp Noodle Salad is refreshing and well-balanced with a nice kick from the chili crisp, although I wish the portion were a bit bigger for the price. My favorite was the Longanisa Sando. The Filipino sweet pork sausage patty is juicy and flavorful, and the combination with the egg, banana ketchup, and jalapeño sauce works really well. Atmosphere (5/5): The café has a fun, modern, and chill vibe. It's a great spot to catch up with friends, work on a laptop, or enjoy a relaxed brunch. The overall aesthetic is bright and inviting. Service (4/5): It's mostly a self-service café, and ordering is straightforward. Food comes out at a reasonable pace. Cleanliness (2.5/5): This is the biggest area that needs improvement. Even though it's self-serve, I still expect the dining area to be kept clean. During my visit, the tables weren't wiped down promptly, and the floor could definitely use more attention. A cleaner dining space would make the overall experience much more enjoyable. Value (3.5/5): Prices are on the expensive side for a brunch café. The food is creative, though some dishes, like the Shrimp Noodle Salad, could be a little more generous in portion size. Overall, Forever by 18 Grams is a unique brunch spot with creative Asian fusion dishes and a fun atmosphere. read more
The vibe of 18 Grams epitomizes why people visit Midtown on a Saturday afternoon. It's a lively brunch place that suits most occasions whether it be studying alone, large-group meal, or anything else in between. It appears very lowkey from the outside -- just their restaurant logo without a clear title. However, the inside is filled with beautiful elements such as a Chinese-themed lion painting encompassing the entire wall and an abundance of plants. I dropped by for a virtual work session, and this place checked all the boxes. The booth seats are as comfortable as they are spacious. The interior looks spotless; even the restrooms left me quite impressed. Hip hop + R&B plays through the speakers at medium volume. My herbal lemonade tasted refreshing. The herbal tea infusion almost tastes like a light strawberry. This is my favorite productivity spot in Sac at the moment. You're missing out if you don't have pay it a visit! read more

If you're looking for a place that does brunch well, this is the spot! They have a good variety of sweet and savory items. Items we ordered were the loco moco, steak and fried rice bowl, and the chicken and waffles. Everything was fresh, full of flavor and seasoning, and I will dream about thar fried chicken. I wish I lived closer to the area, this would easily become my go to places. You order at the register then take a number and the food is brought out to you. We came on a Sunday late morning/early afternoon and the wait for the food wasn't too bad. Parking is fairly easy to find there is street parking along the road. read more
Parking is decent, and the seating is limited (it really depends on if people stay longer than needed as it's open seating concept). The interior design is very niche and the painting of the fudogs on the wall is easily a 10/10. Staffs are great folks. Shaking beef with fried rice: 2/5 the fried rice was very good but the beef was NOT ribeye. It definitely is along the line of sirloin or some sort of type of cheaper choice grade meat. The meat was not fully seasoned. Loganisa breakfast sandwich: 4.5/5 best bang for the buck, the eggs were on the well done side but that's okay, the overall compatibility was very very good. Loco moco: 1/5 the meat patty was super overcooked, it had to be cut with a knife and fork. Super random to have kimchi and arugula where it doesn't mix well. The food was good, especially the Ube French Toast, it was definitely the highlight of the meal. The Egg Sando was good, and the Caramel Cold Brew was a little stronger and more bitter than I prefer, so we asked for extra sweetener. My only complaint is the service model. Guests seat themselves, order online, get their own water and place settings, and are prompted to leave a tip before receiving any service. Personally, I enjoy having a little more table service when I dine out, so I found myself wondering what I was tipping for since the staff mainly brought the food to the table. Overall, the food was good, and I'd return for the Ube French Toast. read more
I came to "Forever by 18 Gram" Food Lounge to celebrate my girlfriend's friend's birthday. I didn't realize it wasn't a full-service restaurant, so I was a little surprised and honestly a bit bummed. I thought it was a regular sit-down restaurant, but it's actually self-service. You scan a QR code and order online. If that's the case, there really should be a bigger and clearer sign explaining that. Also, if customers are ordering online, there needs to be a visible WiFi sign posted. Service can be spotty depending on your carrier, and I had to walk up to ask for the WiFi password. That could've easily been avoided with better signage. I ordered the Loco Moco. The flavors were good, but my food came out cold. If the food is prepped ahead of time, it should at least be heated properly before serving. I upgraded to fried rice for an additional $3 charge. The staff was okay - the lady I spoke with wasn't snobby, which I appreciated. And I will say, they have really good iced coffee. Overall, it was a bittersweet experience. With clearer communication about self-service and making sure food is served hot, it could be much better. I'd give it 3 out of 5 stars. read more
I was soooo excited to hear that 18 Grams has a new location right in downtown! It's part of the Ice Blocks that had been under construction for a few years facing S St. Even though it's a busy area, it wasn't hard to find street parking nearby. I got lucky with a paid meter spot right around the corner! We had a party of 3 at 11am on a Saturday and was able find a table easily. You're immediately greeted by the staff members behind the counter as you walk in. I ordered a longanisa sando and then sat out on the patio with my friends. There's a lot of seating outside, most bar height, with some guests bringing their pups! The interior is also a whole vibe, so I had to take a picture :) The longanisa sando was DELICIOUS. I love a brioche bun and theirs was so soft. The longanisa patty was just the right amount of sweet and savory. The egg was perfectly runny and the fries were crispy and extremely addicting. My friends ordered the loco moco which they didn't really enjoy. They said the gravy wasn't too flavorful, but I didn't try it so make of that what you will. Came back after a week to have brunch, same items ordered except for the grilled chicken rice bowl; flavorful marinade and tender sliced thigh meat. But the star of the day...Jumbo Joong! Sticky rice, red beans and pork for $18 bucks...heck looks like it's 18 lbs.! Only bummer was even though it's cooked, the won't heat it for you and you have to take it home to heat and eat, so had to order another lunch item, which was the chicken rice bowl. *joong only offered through the Lunar New Year Great service, good vibes and food here as usual today! Fast forward 6 hours...got home , opened up the Joong to slice for pan frying, and OMG it was sooo good. I normally just microwave the normal sized ones, but they insisted I try it pan fried. The light crisp created on each side was heavenly, and the pork tasted like it was roast pork. Even though it didn't have the traditional fillers (dried shrimp, Chinese sausage, salted egg yolk, dried scallops, fatty pork), this monstrosity of a joong was the best I've had. One of my go to coffee places. Forever seems to have all the things on the menu when it comes to matcha or any special coffees. I have gone to their other two locations (which is hit or miss for the drinks I want) and found that their downtown location is usually the best stocked on ingredients. They have a good breakfast menu selection (Filipino style). They have special events on certain weekends. It looks like people like to hang out there to work or just hang out. Love the decor, it is a vibe inside with the beautiful artwork. The amount of detail they put into the materials used and the tables and chairs make it a fun place to hang out; I even love the bathroom decor. Pros: one of my favorite drinks is the strawberry matcha. Sometimes I make it a dirty strawberry matcha (add an espresso) which helps me with focusing my attention for intense work days (it's a neuroscience hack; look up Em on the Brain). My other favorite drinks which is only during the holidays is Xmas in '87. I love their steak and fried rice dish. Full of flavor and their sauce is spicy. Another favorite is the loco moco. The staff are super friendly and they recognize me since I go pretty regularly. One time I forgot to get my drink hot and they made it cold. The staff member said it was no big deal and that he was willing to make it again even though I tried to pay for another one since it was my mistake. Cons: it is downtown so parking can be really hit or miss. During the weekends, it's pretty busy so I usually have a hard time finding parking. read more
Came to Forever by 18 Grams expecting a hearty brunch and left with mixed feelings -- some great, some disappointing. First, credit where it's due: the coffee was excellent. The Vietnamese hazelnut iced coffee and ube latte were both smooth, flavorful, and clearly a strong point for this place. The cookies (ube and chocolate chip) were also amazing -- easily one of the highlights and absolutely worth grabbing. My wife's egg breakfast sando was good, well-balanced, and satisfying. Everything was beautifully plated -- presentation is definitely on point. That said, I was honestly disheartened by the portion sizes, especially after specifically asking the cashier what the biggest, most filling meal was. I was recommended the loco moco, and I have to be transparent here: it was nothing special. It was literally a hamburger patty with gravy and an egg, and the portion felt small for the price. It looked nice, but didn't feel like a "go-to" or standout dish, especially when you're hungry and expecting something hearty. The katsu chicken bowl was similar -- very pretty, decent flavor, but again lighter than expected for what you're paying. Overall, this place shines when it comes to coffee, sweets, and aesthetics. If you're coming for drinks, cookies, or a lighter brunch, you'll probably enjoy it. If you're coming in hungry and looking for a truly filling meal, just know that the portions may not match the price or expectations. I'd definitely come back for the coffee and desserts -- I just hope the savory portions either become more generous or are better represented when recommendations are made. read more
Service was quick despite it being busy and everything tasted fresh and flavorful. They have one of my favorite ube iced lattes although it can be sweet. The breakfast burrito presentation is creative and fun to eat with some nice salsa. read more
I love the decor of this restaurant. It has a dark, modern, and chill vibe to it. There's plenty of seating and space to wait for your drinks. The barista was nice, and she was patient when we were browsing through the menu. She answered all our questions, since it was our first time eating here. The food and drinks were good. Some items were okay. I liked their Ube Matcha, Pandan cookie, and Grilled Chicken rice bowl. The ube matcha combined both flavors very well, and it complimented each other. The pandan cookie was moist and soft; get it warmed because it made it that much better! And the grilled chicken bowl was the perfect size, and the chicken was hot and juicy. We weren't huge fans of their Vietnamese Hazelnut or their Chicken Sando. The Viet coffee was a bit too light in color and it just tasted like regular coffee. The chicken sando was good flavor, however, it was a bit too sweet. read more

Loved our visit here! Staff were friendly and accommodating, and patient as we took a bit to figure out what to order. You have to order first, pay, then grab a seat. They have pastries and sweet treats, entrees you can order, as well as a ton of different coffees, teas, and beverages. Seating was comfortable, though it was crowded when we arrived so we had to wait a few and jump on a table when one opened up. They also have a cute outdoor patio. It was hard to decide so we ordered a bunch! We got the steak and fried rice bowl, silk egg, avocado toast w/smoked salmon, a breakfast bowl (forget the name) and a breakfast sandwich with a side of fries. I forgot to photograph the last 2. We enjoyed our drinks, food and a few pastries. They also have plugs for you to plug in and work. We were able to do a bit of work from our laptop and my son was able to do some important back to school items. They did not rush us out and it was comfortable. Saw the Ube french toast and knew i had to stop by and try it. I was expecting more of a brunch spot but it was giving cafe, saw some folks with coffee working. Ube Hong Kong French Toast: Really flavorful, pretty decent ube flavor. Fruits were fresh. I was expecting the toast to be crispier as it was panko coated but I honestly barely saw any panko coating. Overall, cute little spot and I would come back and try some of their other items. read more
We came on Mother's Day. Each table has a QR code to order food and drinks to be delivered to your table. We ordered the Longanisa Sando, Ube French Toast, and the Thai Iced Tea. We loved it all. My sister lives across the street and we love Filipino food so this was such a modern take on it. I can't wait to take my Lolo and Lola to see what they think. read more
Forever by 18 Grams has been on my list for the longest time, because of seeing their toast everywhere, and I finally got to try it. Yes, the toast is as big as it looks in the photo! Definitely a portion that is shareable or if you want breakfast for the next day. I also loved the added ube cream as well as the addition of strawberries and blueberries. I also ordered a lemonade for my drink. I thought it was pretty good. Service was good. I'd love to return to try some of their other menu items since everything sounded so good. read more

We ordered Ube and buttermilk waffles with fried chicken. It was excellent. Strawberry Matcha was good. Hot cocoa was good. Hot mocha was also good. Beef fried rice was yummy. Service was professional. Highly recommended. read more
Happy to have an 18 Grams in midtown! I especially love their 1987 -- always my go-to. We also got their bfast sando, matcha latte and potato wedges, both very good. I would like to come back and dine in, as I love their food menu at their Arden location. Plenty of indoor seating and we found parking right away out front. read more

For cafe beverages to go, not long. Maybe 2-3 minutes. For food, varies on how busy it is, but around 5-10 minutes. When I went with a friend and dined in during a busy Saturday. We ordered 4 food items and 2 drinks, all came around 10-12 minutes.
