Let me just say that I've rarely encountered the level of customer service we experienced when visiting Sun Cyclery. Our salesperson was Josh and his guidance and product knowledge really helped us cut through the lack of knowledge developed after not riding a bike for 40 years. While quality bikes are not inexpensive Josh was mindful of our budget, age and physical limitations and while we did wind up spending much more than we anticipated both Ann and I can say our purchases for our lifestyle, fitness goals and allows us to get out into Nature and enjoy this wonderful State. Had a phenomenal experience at SUN! Adam spent about 45 minutes helping me decide all the accessories for my bike... Which included me picking something out, wanting something else, thinking about it awhile... And then just getting what he just put back on the shelf. Aka- the staff was all so helpful in my bike decisions and patient as I thought about each! All workers remembered me the next time I came in and asked how my recent road trip was that I mentioned last visit. Great service, timely service, bike looks new, repairs were done well... I'm so glad Rickie's tire got a flat. Well. I mean maybe not SO glad...but glad we stumbled upon Sun Cyclery. This has to be some sort of 2 wheeled mecca (though I saw many 3 wheeled bikes as well) to cyclist enthusiasts. Yep. Those 3 wheeled bikes were pretty cool and very comfortable. I see a guy in CenPho peddling around and I thought to myself..."Self, what's this dork doing on that weird bike?" Well now I know he's far more comfortable with back support than a conventional bike. Now. Let's get this out of the way. Yes. They did have a Hello Kitty bike. It was too small (hmmm do you think it might be for a little girl LOL?) And it was $400. And I'm not looking to buy a bike. The variety of bikes was unreal! I truly was mesmerized and insisted on seeing every bike while they repaired Rickie's tire. Each seemed so unique and oh so cool. Though they are really crammed in there and you are unable to pull one away to check it out. That probably means "NO TOUCHIE!" I have to say I like at Wal Mart (I know, stone me, stone me) how the bikes are on slides and you can take them off and give 'em a sitty. But all in all this was a fun detour on our errand day. Great customer service. Amazing bike selection. Cool store. Hey. Maybe it is time for me to get some wheels. This is where I happen to purchase my awesome 3G cruiser. Like so many others, I experienced great customer service. It is good boy customer service as it can be mildly awkward at times (but I'm a girl). They let me try out all the bikes I wanted which was super awesome since I was spending the big bucks (at least in my world). They also helped me bling my bike with a sweet Paul Frank bell, a basket, a U-lock, my sweet pink helmet and tire stuff for all the nails I'll likely run over in the PHX! I had forgotten to write a review until now as I ended up going bike shopping with a friend yesterday. I took her to Landis (just to check out another bike shop) and was super annoyed with the rude service there so I decided to head back to Sun Cyclery. They helped her find something she loved and so I thought it'd be appropriate to send a shot out to my favorite Cen Pho bike shop. I searched for a bike and hit most Phoenix major and some minor bike shops. I was very impressed by one, but ultimately liked the bike and the customer service at Sun. I have never had a good experience here. ALL of the employees are condesending and belittling. Today I walked in, was not greeted, was not offered any help or anything. Just stared at by the employee. When I told him I need a new tube he says (verbatim) "Do you want me to install it or what?" I may be new to cycling but I don't need to be treated like some sort of child. The time I was there today I had a similar experience. No help offered. No help received. Took my daughters bike in for inner tubes after 5:30 on a Friday. The guy was nice and said he could change them right then if we wanted. Honestly, I was too tired to wait, but her bike was ready the very next day. When we picked up the bike, a different guy helped us and we were in and out. No wait time. The staff seem very nice and helpful. The price wasn't too bad. When I originally called about pricing, Mike provided me with 3 different pricing options which was nice bc I wasn't able to spend too much. Sun is probably my favorite bike shop- and I frequent bike shops since my bike is always broken. They have a great selection of Nirve, Electra, Phat, Schwinn, and others- plus a nice smattering of vintage bikes for sale. The selection of parts and accessories is large too- if you don't see what you want, ask. Chances are, they have it in the back. The staff is great- they'll help you find what you need, recommend something new, or order what you're looking for. I brought in my cruiser that had been neglected for about 10 years. I was promised that it would be ready to go with new tires and everything discussed by the time I got off work at 5pm. I came at 5:20 and I got the look of "oh shit we haven't even touched it yet". They said they were finishing it, and then 20 min later it was finally ready. I didn't ask, and they didn't fess up. I'll be going to another shop for my accessories. Side note, seats and accessories are poorly organized and mostly on the floor. Recently I had a problem with my bike computer not working, and they replaced it for no charge, because they determined that the previous one they had sold to me was defective. And left with two that were perfect for each of us. If you need a bike of any type and live in the Phoenix/Tucson area, don't go anywhere else. Wow! What a find! I wish I'd found them years ago. Went there to look at bikes,trikes, locks, much other cycling gadgetry. I was looking to buy a trike, though I could have walked out with most things a person could be looking for in a bike shop. The in store stock was FANTASTIC! I could not have asked for a more helpful associates. They insisted we try what they call a 'tadpole' style trike. They even let us take them out for a test ride around the neighborhood. No high pressure sales, just knowledgeable and very patient with questions. I love my tadpole trike. I've three other very nice bikes, but this is one of the most fun cycle experiences I've ever had. Purchased a Cannondale Quick 8 to get a modest workout. After one month, the spokes starting popping in the rear wheel. Despite the fact the bike was under "warranty," I had to pay for the spoke replacement and truing of the wheel. I was told that the spokes popped because the tires were over-inflated by 5 psi. What?! I then took it out for a simple ride around the neighborhood and the same spokes popped again. I contacted Cannondale directly to see if this is a common issue. They are in the process of investigating. Stay tuned on that front, but they were amazed that Sun charged me for the repair and said they will contact the shop. Once again, stay tuned read more

I purchased an Electra for my wife here 8 months ago. When I went to pick it up the custom elements I had selected with the help of an employee would not work. Without those elements the bike was not what we were looking for. The owner allowed me to selected a bike that came with the elements I was looking for and worked with me on the price to make it work for all of us. I totally agree with all the great comments on customer service at Sun. The people there are super nice and knowledgeable. I had taken my bike to a shop mentioned frequently in these reviews, that begins with an L. They reassembled my bike from out of the box I had shipped it in, and the barrel adjuster for the brake was missing, so consequently the brake didn't work. Not only did that place that starts with an L not replace it, they actually told me it had probably been like that all along and I didn't notice! They were jerks there and while I had been set up to spend an additional $70 on a new lock and various accessories (on top of the $35 they charged me to reassemble the bike) (not to mention the road bikes that I had been eyeing) I informed them that they had just a customer and I'd never be back. So I rode my barely-rideable bike down to Sun, thinking it was at least close enough to walk home if I had to leave it (at the other shop i had to make an appt. one week in advance). Joe popped it on the stand and spent the next 15 minutes replacing the barrel, lubing the brake cables as needed, adjusting both front and rear brakes AND derailleur, and chatting with me about the cycling scene in Phx. The best part though was when this very scruffy guy came in off the street and needed a part for his bike trailer. One of the guys came back with the part and told him it was "free-fifty." He misunderstood and thought it was 3.50 and said he'd have to come back for it. This was clearly a guy who doesn't have a lot of money to spend. Then the guy repeated the joke again and he finally got it. I was so impressed by how respectful and kind they were to this guy who probably would have been chased out of the other store. That other store being Landis. He charged me $10 for the labor, and I bought the like and accessories that I would have purchased at the other shop. and guess what. Honest, helpful, and superior service. I took my unridden for 7 years bike in for a tune-up and whatever they thought it needed to be ridden again. We discussed new tubes if needed. They stuck to the simple tune-up and said I didn't need new tubes. How would I have known? Honest guys. Unlike the Fat Tire shop in Cave Creek who falsely told me the derailer needed to be replaced and over $250 needed to be spent. I think a Schwinn top line bike was beneath them. Having been exposed to all-terrain recumbent trikes last month at Teton Adaptive Sports in Jackson, WY, I knew that I needed to purchase a trike upon returning home to Las Vegas. Internet research resulted in a desire to check out TerraTrikes products and that SUN was 2016 Dealer of the Year for TerraTrikes. I called in advance to determine if SUN had a variety of recumbent trike models on the floor and ready for test driving. The answer was yes, and I made plans to drive to Phoenix for trike shopping. I stopped by the store on the way into town on a Friday afternoon and spent the better part of an hour looking at trikes and learning a lot from Joe. I returned the next morning to test drive several, found one I really liked, developed an accessory list with the help of Joe and then hung out in the shop several hours while accessories were added to my trike. While hanging out I was able to observe the staff interact with a variety of customers and it was impressive. The teamwork was fantastic and it's obvious that everyone on the team enjoys genuinely helping everyone who walks through the door find biking happiness. Mellow, laid back, friendly, focused and passionate about biking/triking are all words that come to mind when I think of the team I observed and interacted with at Sun Cyclery. If you haven't been in a bike shop lately, you owe it to yourself to visit one. In addition to a comprehensive display of various recumbent trikes, SUN has a wide variety of great and fun looking bikes.
