Not only did Daren take the time to assess my bike but he gave me a lesson on mounting, dismounting, braking and changing gears for safety. He lowered my seat so I could handle my new bike with care. Today was Thursday Sit and Chat, 2:30-4 pm Corner on the Market. He loves it because people enjoy him. Plus food and Independence! On the journey home was Grey Matter Bike Shop. We stopped to investigate. You donate a bike, they refurb it. Proceeds from used bike sales are donated to Barrow Neurologic Hospital. The owner's son died from brain cancer. Barrow treated him. The owner is paying back by healing old bicycles and donating the profit.. They also have a full showroom of fine electric and pedal powered bicycles at standard pricing. Plus excellent repair and service staff. Mr. G wanted a bike with a wide, comfortable seat. Sit and Chat Dave advised him to pick a bike short enough to not injure his groin areas when putting both feet on the pavement. We found a One Speed coaster brake cruiser, semi-fat tires. Simple to ride and repair. Wide, supportive seat. Built for comfort. Nearly new, brand new rear tire. $125.00. We pick it up tomorrow ar 10 am.
