Will is extremely knowledgeable and helped me narrow down what kind of mountain bike to get based on what trails and where I plan on riding. He gave me a great deal on a bike that he ordered for me. When my bike was in, Will set me up with everything I needed to hit the trails. Since getting my bike back in September, I've spent hours on the trails with no issues. When I got the bike, Will recommended to get some rides in and then to bring it back to make sure everything was good. Came in looking for a new or used bike in early 2021. Was told by staff due to COVID they didn't have any and to come back in a year. Thought that was a little drastic but getting a bike wasn't a priority, so I came back in early 2022, and was told due to the supply chain issue I'd be best to come back about six months later. Came back in October 2022, and again said I'm newer to riding (it's been about 15 years) and would like a new or used bike for trail riding, specifically to see if that's what I'm looking for, trail it out first. They don't sell used bikes, and for what I was looking for, they estimated a $2800 bike. I thought that was a bit steep and asked if they knew any other bike stores in the area that might have better options. They said no, the other places sell garbage and started to trash talk them. They otherwise seemed to be nice guys. I understand trying to make a sale, but when the customer clearly isn't interested with what you have, you're better off offering good customer service because I'll remember that although I couldn't get a bike there, I might come back for accessories. What a joke. I went into this shop looking to buy a high end hardtail. I brought another bike with me to have them do a minimalistic task on it. Using it to start a conversation. I was trying to get a feel for the shop. I basically told these two clowns what bikes I was looking at, which would obviously tell them my area to spend. They new both companies that produced these bikes. Neither of them made any attempt to sell me a bike. They just bashed the two companies and made a couple comments directed at me. I guess they feel old guys can't ride. I'm sure they'll be gone soon. Don't waiste your time here. read more

I upgraded my current road bike with the help from Philip at the Glendale shop. I went to Bianchi's website and saw there were a total of (4) authorized dealers. I called the first three dealers and none of them returning my calls. None of them e-mailed me back. None of them returned my inquiries via social media. It was very disappointing. I left Sonoran Cycles as my last ditch effort because according to the Bianchi website, the only authorized Bianchi dealer is their Yuma location. I did not want to make the journey that far south and drive that far out of my way if I did not have to. Desperation set in and reluctantly, I reached out to Sonoran Cycles via the e-mail address I found on their website. In the end, it was Philip Hantel who responded to my e-mail in a matter of just 8 minutes and assured me all of their Sonoran Cycles locations were authorized dealers. Not only did he respond to my e-mail efficiently and quickly, but he spent the better part of his afternoon a few days ago corresponding to me. He answered all of my questions and made me feel comfortable with the purchase I was about to make. I ultimately ordered my dream bike - a Bianchi Intenso with complete Shimano Ultegra R-8000 components in size 57 with the beautiful Celeste paintjob from Philip at Sonoran Cycles. We communicated completely via e-mail until it was time for me to give him a deposit for my bicycle. I don't have the most flexible schedule and Philip made it very easy. We're all adults and we're all busy. Philip recognized that immediately. His thorough communication, expertise, willingness to go above and beyond and extensive knowledge base is the kind of customer service that I would assume Bianchi wants its authorized dealers to execute. My only regret is that I did not contact Sonoran Cycles first! If anyone in Arizona wants to get ahold of a Bianchi, the only authorized dealer for the job is Sonoran Cycles. I would not hesitate at all to recommend my family, friends, co-workers and fellow Yelp'ers to Sonoran Cycles for all of their cycling needs! read more

Visiting friends from out of town and killing time looking for new shoes. Shoe company website recommended this store. Arrived to find only three pairs by this manufacturer and maybe 4 more from another. Guys in shop said shoes lose money (funny, the shop I use at home makes a KILLING on shoes). Then when I talked about pedals the pompous asses working there couldn't get over the weight of the ones I was thinking of, even though they're for a specific use. Another worker kept on harping on about the bike pics a friend of his sends looking to build a bike sends him (saw the pics, cool bike) aren't good enough. Of the couple dozen bikes on the floor probably 70% were in for service. HOW IS THIS PLACE IN BUSINESS? I don't know any other shops in the PHX area, but I would avoid this one!!! read more

My son has been to this shop multiple times came in today to buy a bike talk to Ian and I believe the manager was there told my son a cash price so my son went to the bank to go get the money out when my son returned the price went up $50. I am more upset about the way Ian treated me when I called back since we were not in town to help my son purchase his bike and thought he could handle it on his own . Ian Was completely out of line and disrespectful told me that my son just wanted a cheaper price but in reality you guys told him the price and didn't look it up and take into consideration there was shipping cost which is not our problem, my son came back to purchase it for the price you told him. Ian also told me in a smart ass kind of manner that my son did not sign a contract and didn't think my son would return what a joke!!!! What a way to treat a customer and a young kid. Needless to say I bought his bike from a different shop for the price you told him to start and we're glad to take the money elsewhere after being treated so poorly.. and to think I was happy for him to go there because he had been there so many times researching and making sure he got what he wanted for his well deserved saving that he had. I thought the hub on my kids bike was broke and took it in to be replaced. This awesome Husband and Wife team, looked at it and immediately recognized that it just needed to be tightened, with a tool I didn't have. Within two minutes I was walking out with the bike repaired. How appreciative I am that a local business gave great service as well as honest service too. Much appreciative. This shop and these guys are really amazing and wonderful experience today. My ETap system was having issues. Found a broken battery and the SRAM guy just happened to be here. Gave me a new battery. Rear brake cable had repositioned during flight here from Holdredge today. Easy for them to put back correct. And kinda needed new Lizardskins bar tape, and they had exactly as I like. Avoid service with this place at all cost. I've been in to have my intense mountain bike worked on six times. I have also sent in multiple referrals. Always a little over priced but convenient until this last time. After having my bike for 14 days fixing things that weren't broken and forgoing repairs that were requested they tried to double bill me. When I questioned it I was told to change my tone. After we worked out the billing and I paid what was actually owed I was asked not to return. Horrible costumer service and just rude. read more

Awesome bike shop with attentive, kind, professional employees. Hooked me up after replacing my rear pads and a bleed only to discover a cracked piston. I had a great experience. They were very patient with me as I looked for a mountain bike. I am a novice rider looking to upgrade from the Dicks sporting goods version of a mountain bike. The three guys I talked with at Sonoran were very informative, answered all my questions, and asked me a lot of questions to ensure I got the right bike. Their prices are very competitive. I got a new bike for around the same price as the same bike used on Craig's list. Went in to buy something I thought I needed to go with a new seat I purchased and could not figure out how to install. Did not buy the seat there but they could not have been nicer to me and totally put it together for me. I tried to pay them but they said no... Back down to one star. After installing q rings and a mid cage derailleur on my giant defy the shifting was rendered unusable and left me with 1 working gear during a gran fondo. Upon return I was blamed saying vaguely that q rings don't always work, when the problem was an obviously incorrectly installed lower pulley wheel that was self destructing. I was sent on my way with that tightened rather than replaced even though it was very damaged, and again told it was all my fault for having q rings. A few days later during my next ride, i found the rear derailleur out of trim so badly that no gear was useable without terrible grinding, and a loud click had developed. I called the store and asked for the manager and was told both the manager and owner were on vacation, i asked for their return date and the employee Ian refused to even ask and took my name without any promise of a date for a return call, only that my complaint would be "passed on". At this point my bike has left this store operating worse than when it has entered nearly every time. read more

This was one of the best experience that I have EVER had. I bough a bike from there and I took it in 1 moth later and they had it all fixed up in no time! A buddy of mine also brought his bike there, which he bought at a Sonoran Cycles many years ago, and they did the same as mine. They took his bike, adjusted everything and even lubed up the chain for him in no time. They are honestly masters at bikes. And to the people that get a cash offer and it ends up being $50 more, it's called sales tax. For the record, bikes are NOT food. Highly recommend this bike shop. :) read more

I don't go on social media sites much, if at all, but I need to let people know that this bike shop is great. Bought a new bike based on their recommendation and I can not be any happier - and yes I DID shop around, but with all things considered they were the best buy. That's great, but not why I am writing this. I brought my bike in for an adjustment or 2 and there was no charge. I then brought it in my other bike to be worked on (forks "retuned" -- honestly I think the gentleman, Phil, rebuilt it) -- they treat you as if you are family and will not guide you wrong. Cost, average, but if you take all the EXTRAS they do, just because - well its inexpensive by all means. I highly recommend these guys, if not for a new bike purchase, service but heck just a good old conversation!! read more

I started riding mountain bikes in 1984 and road bikes in 2002. If you are a serious cyclist or just getting started one thing I consider essential is to find a good bike shop. When I moved to Phoenix that shop was Swiss American but they closed their doors in 2015, after 38 years. I had looked at Sonoran but the window full of high end bikes made me worry that they might be too expensive; Wrong! The people are friendly, prices are very reasonable, mechanics are super and I couldn't be more pleased with my experiences with Sonoran. read more

This is a review for the Glendale location of the Sonoran Cycles. It is a fantastic local bike shop. Not only do they have very competitive prices (i know, I bought my last bike here) but have an outstanding service business. Always welcoming, even for issues that other shops clearly cannot be bothered with. These guys are willing to assess the issue, troubleshoot and provide a very clear, no-nonsense assessment of what may be involved what it may cost. Almost every single time they were able to complete the simplest and most economical repair option, and I never had a feeling they were there to sell me something I don't need. But the most importantly - I have had repairs done at several other shops in the valley in the past, where the repair departments are staffed and repairs performed by guys with "interest in bikes" and no matching expertise, requiring me to either re-do the repair on my own or bring the bike somewhere else. In contrast, the repairs at the Sonoran have always been done quickly, accurately, and with no subsequent issues. I live on the other side of the Valley, but will drive 20 miles to this shop any day... read more
