I work down the street so this is my go-to place for Chinese food during lunch. I often call the order in at 10:50am and it's done and ready for pickup by 11:05. Their lunch menu is cheap and they have so many options and flavors are on point! I always get the lemon chicken with fried rice lunch combo, which comes with a veggie egg roll. The portion size is very generous, and I always pick it up piping hot and fresh. Some Chinese restaurants will make lemon chicken with overly breaded chicken, but this place uses real chunks of chicken and is lightly breaded, so when you take a bite, you see a big piece of chicken and not all fried breading. The lemon sauce is perfectly sweet, tangy, sour, just the way it should be. The fried rice is good and not too greasy. The veggie egg roll is a nice size and comes with sweet and sour sauce which is always good! For less than $7 bucks, this place is definitely a winner! read more

I happen to love this place. I think the food is great! The prices are awesome. Like Chuck R. said, get there for happy hour. You can easily go for dinner and a couple saki bombers and spend, including tip, around fifteen dollars if you stick to the happy hour menu. And you are leaving full. As for the wait staff, I love them. They take care of everything you need very quickly if you sit at the bar. If you are sitting at a table, you might need to flag them down once. I guess I am completely understanding of this because everyone is just so nice. I go here quite a bit. And I have brought plenty of people to eat, drink and be merry as well. I have eaten their food numerous times (I love the pad thai) and I have NEVER gotten sick. And it does not hurt it is not some big chain like Panda Express. read more

The service at this restaurant is TERRIBLE! The wait staff is rude and unprofessional. I have had two bad experiences there. The first time, the waitress messed up a friend's over and refused to change it or take it off of her bill. She was rude to a customer over a $1 food item. Another waitress came to our table and treated us with the same lack of professionalism. My second visit was no better. I thought that the service couldn't be bad if I was just picking up a to go order. I was wrong. We were charged different prices than what was listed on the menu online and the menu items were different. Again, the staff refused to make any changes or honor the prices listed on their menu. I will never return to this location and would not recommend it to anyone. The happy hour prices are pretty good but not worth it for the awful service. read more

Food is greasy, waitresses speak poor English and get orders wrong. She brought me the wrong plate and I told her that's not what I ordered. She became aggressive and tried to have me just eat something I didn't want. they have no concept of personal space and reach across your face when they deliver your food. read more

The food was just OK. Their sushi needs some work and was mediocre at best and their fries rice was a joke. Looked as though it had been warmed up from a frozen bag. Their orange chicken was good but nothing to go back for. What really got us though was the service. After we received our meal the ENTIRE weight staff, and I mean the entire staff, cooks and all. Went on their lunch break. They proceeded to sit down a their own tables in the dining area and had lunch while customers were eating their meals. It was just bizarre. They didn't tend to their tables at all during this time which is why my husband and I almost got up to go and find the refil station for our waters. Overall it was OK at best and nothing special. I called for delivery, I ordered the walnut shrimp, pad thai, fried tofu, and crab rangoons. It came within 40 minutes and the delivery man was very kind and friendly. The food was great, and there was a lot of it. The crab rangoons were not skimpy, there was a lot of filling, which I haven't found very typical. I'm glad to have found Chinese delivery in my area. read more

To all the people that go eat here. I would like to tell you guys that I am going to give them a one star cause I don't like it when they TIP themselve without letting me know. I had $29 on my check and they TIP themselves $10 without letting me know. I confronted them and they told me it was mandatory. The service was so bad, that they took my plate without letting me finish my food. They never filled up my drink. They were very rude, and there food wasn't as good as I thought. Make sure to check your bill cause they over priced everything! Ive been told by couple of my friends that they experience the same thing. Beware. It wasn't my first time visiting this restruant and I never have any issues with the food. But lately the service is not even worthy of a tip. What really annoyed me was the other night when not only did they bring our food late and warm, (seemed like it has been sitting for a while) and my boyfriend and I were half way out he door the waitress stopped us and asked him for a $5 tip on a $17 meal. Worst service and food ever!! I'm a server myself and I know Asians are slow but that service was rediculous I didn't see my server besides when she took my order and dropped off my food. Besides the service the food was aweful!!!! I was so excited for my sushi which was fine... but it was suppose to come out before the rest of my food.. which it didnt. So I had a few piece and decided to try my teriyaki chicken DO NOT EAT! first bite tasted hard and for some reason like an uncooked piece of broccoli had to spit it out. Tried another piece thinking it was just a bad piece and nope another bad bite. It made me lose my appetite so I walked outside to get some air and had to turn right around and run to the bathroom to throw up! Which I repeated 3 times before finally getting the bill that I asked for more than once! I could understand if it was busy but there was maybe 3 other couples there.. also this isn't the first time I've been there but it seems to keep getting worse every time I go. I've come here for the last few years. Customer service is hit or miss but the food is always great. However this time my experience was AWFUL. My Boyfriend and I ordered two shots of Hennessy the waitress came back to let us know the price and still asked if we wanted the shots. We didn't ask For the price. We asked for the drinks. Her tone was trying to imply if we were willing to pay that price which was not what we cared about. Upon receiving and paying for our bill she rudely counted the cash out IN FRONT OF OUR FACES. As if we didn't have enough money to pay. So disrespectful and rude. Not to mention the Las Vegas roll had an awful cheap fishy taste. The food is ok. Their service not so great. I ordered food, and after an hour not received it yet. Called back and asked how it was going. They then asked me how I wanted everything cooked. ( which showed they hadn't cooked it yet) and they told me 20 more mins. After waiting another half-hour, I called back and got told by the person on the phone that I was already told that they were on their way and to hold on a moment. So again the food awesome. Service Bad. Then we get our food, and my co-worker finds a hair in her food. We call them back, ask to speak to a manager. We ask that they refund her meal. They say that they can;t do that. That the only reason there was a hair in her food was because it was busy!! They offer to give us 10% off our next order with them. After quite a bit of arguing with get it up to 20% off . I ordered food to go at the restaurant from an Asian woman who wore glasses. I requested no rice for my sushi rolls and asked for them to be wrapped in soy paper or cucumber instead of rice. There was a language barrier but she understood my request. I got my food and said thank you, came home and everything was wrapped in rice. I returned and spoke to a nice young man and explained the situation to him and he said he would remake the order. I said great. When the order was finished the woman who originally took my order brought the food out to me and she said" you check it and then get out". How's that for customer service? read more

This place is awesome! I tried the Kung Pao and Hot Plate Beef. The serving is just any regular chinese restaurant which is BIG. This has the best Kung Pao I've ever tried. Plus, they have boba!!! I had the Thai Iced Tea with boba. Definitely going back to try more dishes! read more

YUCK! ick! ewwwww! would be how I'd describe my lunch at Sun Asian Kitchen. Whatever was served was albeit presentable but in terms of taste not good at all. I ordered the wonton soup and the Honey Chicken combo (comes with a chicken eggroll, and choice of fried rice, steamed rice or lo mein, brown rice is extra). The wonton soup had a weird taste to it, the broth was alright and the vegetables included in the soup canned. The Honey Chicken combo arrived shortly after, and it looked promising. And what goodness it seemed to offer ended after the first bite. I know how to cook fried rice, and yes, fried rice is made with day old rice but what I had was the rice at the bottom of the pan, there were hard bits to it that would stick to my teeth and there was no flavor to it, as for flavor, the honey chicken had nothing close to it being honey chicken, and the dish tasted off. It was a mess. I was hoping to at least enjoy the chicken minus the lackluster fried rice but the fried pieces of chicken was mostly batter and less chicken. And the sauce was just too sweet and thick that I really didn't know what I was eating hence I just stopped eating and considered my lunch a loss. =( I agree with a yelper that sun asian kitchen is a step above fast food but if I were to compare this tragedy with Panda Express, I'd take Panda over this hot mess. Ordered Take out yesterday to go after work. Was afraid I would have to wait a long time being that it was busy Dinner rush and I was about 10 mins away. Just got off 1-10. Called anyway cause I was in mood for chicken egg rolls and shrimp fried rice and chicken Lo-mein. Lady said 10 mins I was really??. ok. Got there in 5 mins. Got there decided to order one more item. Orange chicken at last min for hubby. I only waited another 10 mins which was ok. It was definitely worth the wait. They were busy but I was glad to wait. Food was awesome hot and fresh and delicious by time I got home. And large portions had leftovers for lunch Saturday. Staff at register was courteous and friendly as always. If you have never stopped here you don't know what your missing . I live in Laveen not to far away would have loved to dine in as we usually do but hubby was home already. I typically get the crispy honey chicken from here along with white rice and a chicken egg roll. I have yet to be disappointed and consider it a good alternative from the Panda Express down the street. I've always gone in and ordered to go so I cannot speak for the sit down service but the to go ordering is quick and easy. I rarely have to wait more than 8-10 minutes from when placing the order to walking out the door with my food. read more

There are very few places in this area that deliver. Sun Asian kitchen claims that you can send in an e-mail order for delivery. I did so tonight at 5pm. At 6pm I decided to call and see why the order was held up. They said they don't check e-mail often and that it would be another 20 minutes. An hour later, they called and asked if I still wanted my food. At 7:30 (2.5 hours after I placed my order), the food finally got here. I called and talked to the woman, and she fought with me on the phone and blamed the situation on me for saying after 2 hours that I still wanted my food. Go down the street to PanAsia. Sun Asian is one of the Best Chinese restaurant in the valley overall. I've been pleased with their fast service and NEVER felt I needed to check the bag. I would give this a lower star if possible, a friend of mine took me here once and it was fairly enjoyable so I decided to take my best friend here. First time we came there was an extremely loud argument with one of their customers and instead of trying to defuse the situation the employees egg them on and make matters worse with threats of violence and calling the police. The second time I didn't appreciate the service so I didn't want to leave a tip so the waitress decided to guilt me into leaving one and even showed me how much I should be leaving. The food wasn't that good to begin with, the rice was dry, burnt, and all around flavorless; and on top of everything it felt as though the waitress was trying to get rid of us as soon as we got there. I've worked in the food industry before so I know how stressful and draining It can be but this was just terrible all around and I definitely won't be coming back. Also found multiple black spots in my food and I had no idea what they were and there was a cockroach maybe five yards away from our table, honestly looked as though they tried to hide it. read more
