Prefacing this review by saying I am not Nigerian, but I have friends who are and have been very curious to try Nigerian cuisine. Another side note.. I don't do spicy food. I'm a wuss! Having said that, I was really excited to try this. What I wasn't expecting was for it to be small and styled like a cafeteria. This is located in a small strip mall. There was parking, since we came in on a Wednesday. I think that the bulk of their orders are placed online or over the phone and picked up because we were the only ones dining here. Onto what we tried- a little bit of everything! Egusi soup with fufu, jollof rice, coconut rice, goat, mixed meat and chicken. The food was tasty but dry. I'm not sure if it was because it sat for a bit. I thought that it would be prepared at order, but it was already ready and under heat lamps. My favorite was probably the goat; my least favored was probably the egusi soup. The staff were friendly, and the portions were decently sized for the price.

Empty egusi plate!

This was my first time eating Nigerian food--I loved! We ate in and had egusi with beef and fufu and coconut rice with plantains and fish. The egusi was amazing and the fufu ball was perfect consistency, light and moist, a wonderful cloud to accompany your egusi. The egusi was my favorite, but the rice, fish and plantains were good too. There are plenty of tables, seating and parking. I loved the small but private parking lot. There is pretty are on the walls and a TV playing if you want entertainment. The ambiance is peaceful and tasteful. Service was kind and friendly. There was a man who was very helpful and considerate of our lack of knowledge. He made recommendations and we asked for low spice--and the spice level was perfect in the egusi! The egusi had just enough spice for flavor but not too much to ruin out meal for us (spice wimps!). We are thankful. This weekend we were just passing Long Beach, but we will definitely return again, looking forward to more Nigerian food - worth the trip just for the food. 10/10 egusi and okro soup was very flavorful. Service is friendly. I will be coming back to try other dishes

Combo coconut rice plantains and fish

This was our first time trying Nigerian food, and first time at Omalicious/Sumputous. We ordered the beef egusi with fufu and combo with coconut rice plantains and fish. Both super delicious we cleaned our egusi plate clean!! Very generous portions and service was really great. They were very nice! We loved the food so much we ordered okra soup (made to order fresh) and another egusi to-go but we decided to try with the goat meat. Normally we aren't goat meat people but we're down to try it! Everything was super delicious. We would definitely come back, excited to try the beef Patties in the future they were sold out when we came. Highly Recommend to others!

Okro soup with mixed meat

We had been looking for a place to try some Nigerian food and were glad we were able to find a place close to where we are in OC! WHAT WE ORDERED Egusi soup with chicken Okro soup with mixed meat Jollof rice with fish Coconut rice with goat FOOD I don't really have a point of comparison, but everything was delicious! The egusi soup was very well seasoned and one of my favorites of our meal, but as an okra lover I have to say the okro soup was my favorite. The rices were also super flavorful. I do wish the mixed meats were more tender, but that along with the chicken were okay. I really enjoyed the fish and was a huge fan of the goat - not too gamey. SERVICE We had an amazing experience with their service. They asked if it was our first time and they gave us great recommendations, especially when it came to serving size. They came back to check on us to see how we liked it, and were so friendly and welcoming. VIBES Family restaurant type of vibe, nothing fancy, but a good amount of seating to share a meal with friends. They play good music too. BOTTOM LINE Pretty good experience - I'd come back to try more of their menu!

Driving to the location just for disappointment

The lady that is either the owner or chef is a rude non welcoming nasty person, I'm sorry to say but I have never encountered a restaurant like this. So unacceptable, drove from Orange city to deal with this rude non welcoming nasty common sense only person running the restaurant when I arrived with ZERO customer and couldn't answer an honest clear answer about the food on the menu

Poundad Yam (left), Cow Leg Meat (Top Center), Mixed Meat ((Right).
Sokna S.

Food: 5/5 From the poundad yam, cow leg meat, and mixed meat so wonderfully good. The yam was perfectly soft, the leg meat was huge and spicy. Finally the mixed meat had a nice variation and perfectly spicy. Service: 4/5 Quick and attentive. Ambiance: 2/5 Table, chairs, food. Straight to the point.

Egusi and Fufu Combo
Anita C.

Finally tried Nigerian food. I ordered fufu and Egusi with chicken. It was very flavorful and the yam was so soft it melted in your mouth. It was a tad on the greasy side. The meat was so tender!

Very good food. Not as fresh as I would like but affordable and kind staff. Loved the Egusi and the other choices.

We tried this place for the first time and this has to be one of our favorites! The place is very clean with friendly service, but the food is amazing! We ordered the Tom Yum soup, crispy bok choy, spicy pad thai, chicken fried rice & the garlic shrimp noodles. Each of us had a different favorite dish but we loved them all. The table next to us ordered an entirely different selection of dishes and they loved it as well so we will be back to try some of their favorites. When we walked in, I immediately felt underdressed because the inside of the restaurant was decorated so nicely! The only slightly off-putting thing was how many flies there were because of the hot weather, but luckily the restaurant was prepared with little fans/propellers to keep them away from the food so it wasn't a problem while we were eating. We started with the crab rangoons, which we devoured. You can't go wrong with those and I'm glad they had it on their menu! For our mains, we tried the pad see ew and the panang curry. The pad see ew was great in flavor. I wish there were more veggies and that the beef was a bit less dry but it was not a big deal and still delicious. The panang curry was spicy and nutty. The tenderloin was the best part and practically melted in my mouth! Of course we got thai teas, which were very sweet. They were also huge and definitely shareable. Service was okay, we had to ask multiple times for certain things but they were busy so it is understandable. Definitely a great thai place for date night or plans with friends, but it seems to get pretty crowded so expect a wait! I'd probably come back to try more of their menu.

We came as a party of 6 after the Long Beach Marathon, and it seemed like they were understaffed. My friend mentioned that she had received better service on a previous visit, so hopefully this was just an off day. Still, there were quite a few things that could have been handled better. They only gave us one set of banchan, which I thought was insufficient for a party of 6, especially since several of the dishes we ordered also came with banchan. We had to ask for water, and we finished our initial sides pretty quickly while waiting for our food. When we asked for refills, we had to follow up twice. One of the female servers came across as unfriendly and made us feel like we were bothering her when we asked for more banchan. She didn't even stop or look at us when she responded, "Give me a minute." The male server was friendlier, but overall, the service remained slow, even when we were trying to get our bill and check out. There were also some order mix-ups. We were served the wrong dishes twice, and my friend specifically requested no onions, but that was overlooked as well. Between the long wait, missed requests, and lack of attentiveness, the experience felt pretty disorganized. FOOD: - Rib Eye Bulgogi: came with rice and banchan. The presentation was pretty cool, with the meat served on a bed of salt that was lit on fire! It helped keep the food warm, although it did make moving the meat around a little tricky. The bulgogi itself was very tender and flavorful, and we really enjoyed it. - Pork Belly Tofu Soup: good, but I wish it had more tofu. Either there wasn't enough, or it had broken down into smaller pieces, because I was hoping for more substantial chunks. - Rose Tteokbokki: creamy and delicious; but it's definitely a dish meant for sharing Overall, we were satisfied with the food, and I thought the portions were fairly priced. Unfortunately, the slow, disorganized, and occasionally unfriendly service took away from the experience and makes me feel a little hesitant to return.

For this particular review, I am reviewing an order I got delivered using Grubhub. I decided to try something new - usually I get their glass noodle salad or either the yellow or green curry with rice. Yesterday I ordered the Thai basil plate with chicken and a side of rice. I got two lunches out of it - very flavorful and filling without being too salty or oily, which is a plus. I knocked down one star because I also ordered an iced lemongrass tea and it tasted like pure sugar/syrup! The lemongrass flavor was still there, but it was wayyy too sweet. I could only drink half. Today I filled the rest of the cup with water and it was still too sweet. I'll have to ask if they make a sugar-free version, or if the sweetness level can be adjusted because I definitely do not feel great after drinking that, haha.

We have full kitchens in all the rooms where we're staying along with plates and all the set ups. The rooms even have dishwashers! So, I found this S T Noodle Bar near by and decided to give it a try. I kinda know what there guys like to eat, so I just ordered a bunch of food. The only request from anybody was for Pad Thai, the most common dish at all Thai restaurants. I GPS my way over and order the food. I was Khao Soy on the menu and I don't see that at too many Thai places that I've been to, so I got an order of that with chicken. Of course, an order of Pad Thai, 2 orders since I have 5 hungry people to feed. Also, I ordered the Thai coconut soup, I think it's called Tom Kha with chicken. One more noodles dish was the Drunken Noodles, it's kinda like Chinese Chow Fun, but has a more spicy flavor and basil in it. The food was all pack and bagged for me to take back to the hotel. We used my room since I have a bigger room. We had plates and set ups for all five of us and we re-plated the food on the serving plates that came with the room. All the food was really tasty and everybody was happy not to have to leave the hotel. I heard compliments on the Pad Thai and the Coconut soup. Anyway, now about 3 months ago... we were here around lunchtime on a Saturday, cause we were in the area, and hadn't tried it yet. Service was great with one weight hiccup. We sat down and had water in front of us and our order taken basically immediately. Ordered a pad se ew, khao soi ($16 each for the entrees), and a large Thai tea ($7) to share. The pad ke mow and the Thai tea came out basically immediately. We'd already drunk all our water and had someone come back out to refill it, when the khao soi showed up about 15 minutes later with no mention of the delay. (We also got our check and paid quickly when we were done. Dunno what happened with the khao soi.) The Thai tea was great, and if you're sharing it with someone, 7 bucks is a great price for basically two Thai teas. The pad se ew - the first dish we always judge a Thai place on, being one of both of our favorite Thai dishes - was excellent. Great noodles, perfectly cooked and seasoned, with plenty of Chinese broccoli (I always like to call out the places that use inferior, wrong American broccoli instead, as was *not* the case here). 16 bucks, but that seems to be the going rate these days for Thai food (I remember when it was like half that much...), and you get a good portion. Good portion on the khao soi too. Wonderfully delicious crispy chicken, and a good amount of it. Great curry. Slightly too many crispy noodles, slightly not enough of the regular king - noodle-wise, just ok. In terms of khao soi, ST Noodle is definitely still the gold standard, with Thai District in 2nd. This could be 3rd, though. "Medium" spicy also wasn't very spicy - my wife liked it; I liked it a lot more after adding a bunch of chili sauce.

We alway get seated pretty fast. The place isn't too big but decent in size with two sections available. Staff are alway so friendly and welcoming. That's a good sign and of course the food, another reason why we come here whenever we're in the area. I have my usual that's a must for me as I know what to expect. We tend to go with either their larb or papaya salad which both dish are quite tasty and flavorful. Spice level to your liking. This visit, the larb. Always served with a wedge of cabbage. The flavor is alway great and every bite, flavorful. Of course the only place that I alway get the boat noodles. I've had it at other places but this is my favorite in Long Beach. The broth is great and thick with all the meat. Chinese broccoli accompanied as well. It's comfort food and alway hits the spots. This time we've tried another dish that we've never had. The chili garlic fish with rice. We were informed that it would take about 15 minutes which was fine. Deep fried sole fillets with garlic and chili sauce served on top a bed of mixed salad. First off, there was loads of fish and it was quite tasty and the sauce, it was good. A dish that was quite tasty and great for sharing. Overall, the food has alway been great and service has always been excellent. Each and every meal have always been enjoyed. It's our go to in Long Beach.

We parked on the side street after circling around 3x. Upon seating, the staffs were warm and friendly. Interior design was nice and cozy upon entering even if the place was a little tight. We ordered Pad Thai, Khao Soi, Chicken Satay, Mango Sticky Rice and Nam Prik Ong. All dishes were quick to arrive so we were able to enjoy everything as it is served altogether. It's our first time trying Khao Soi so we don't have a base to compare it with but the broth is soo good! It was rich and creamy, and the egg noodles are al dente, it was chewy! We were just a little underwhelmed with the Nam Prik Ong which had a lot of veggies included in it, and the Chicken Satay. All the portions were big on all the dishes, we were so full even before trying the dessert. Their Mango Sticky Rice has the perfect balance of sweetness from the cream and the tanginess from the Mango.
