We've used Summit several times now and are pleased with their work. We've had them both trim our oak trees. They don't just cut off the lower branches but also make it more airy inside by removing crossed limbs. They have also removed two trees and several large shrubs for us. The workers are all very professional and clean up well afterward. We have not had them remove stumps so can't say if they provide that service too. read more

I needed to have some trees trimmed back and one removed as it was touching my house. Doing due diligence, I got four estimates for the work. Three were within $100 of each other; the fourth (Sonoma Marin Arborists) was nearly double the estimate of the other three. I went with Summit Tree Care because of the reviews here, on Yelp, and because I got a good feeling when Bob arrived and surveyed the work. We chose July 6 as the mutually convenient day to do the work. After an initial scheduling mixup, (somehow his manager picked up the wrong work order and went to the wrong job site) they came the next day, July 7, and did a good job clearing the trees I asked them to (I actually had them out for a second day once I saw the results of opening up the view). They cleaned up the job site and aside from a couple of minor breakages (drip system timer and a small piece of a fence) there were no casualties. Frankly, with the amount of weight these guys are hauling around I might have expected more peripheral damage, but there was really no major damage at all. Mistakes happen, as occurred with the scheduling issue, and Bob and I reached an agreement to make it right. I guess the lesson I learned was to reconfirm the appointment to get the work done on a major job like this a day or two before it's supposed to be done, not only with tree care, but with any major job. In any event, I would use this company again. read more

Summit Tree care just finished remove 3 huge pine trees from my property. The trees where very close to the house and the root systems were growing into the driveway so they had to dealt with.. Though I got several estimates, I chose to go with Summit... Summit owner Bob returned calls when he said he would, came out to estimate the job exactly when he said he would and completed all follow up as necessary.. Bob's team were professional and polite and to my eye looked like true tree professionals.. Safe and efficient, using judgement and communication for the safety of all. Their clean up was great. This is the second tree we have removed from our property and the first time we have used Summit Tree Care. Bob responded to our request for an estimate quickly and by the end of the day, every utility company had come by and signed off on the removal. We could not be home the day of the tree removal but when we arrived home, the tree was gone, the stump was ground down to surface level, and they had cleaned up the work area. Their crew was professional, careful, efficient and amazingly able to take those huge trees out without any damage to our fencing or building; clearly an experienced group. Having never posted on Yelp before, we felt it was necessary to warn others so they wouldn't have the same experience. Summit does not take credit cards and they don't say that when you hire them. Generally, we were pleased with the work they did, but blind-sided by having to pay cash. Our project ran into several thousand dollars...that was quite a shock to not be able to put it on the credit card. Their paperwork was less than professional as well. In seeking bids, have them write out their quote and specifically indicate what they will and won't do. Tried to seek out local businesses, unfortunately wouldn't hire them again. read more

We have really been pleased with the final product of how our trees looked once they were trimmed (or removed). Summit Tree Care removed two trees for me. Bob called and made an appointment to give us an estimate. He actually was early (called to make sure it was OK to be early). His price was very fair, I told him we were having a solar system installed and asked if he could get the trees within a week. He said he would make it happen. Later that day he called and told me his crew had finished a job earlier than expected and could take the trees out that afternoon if I wanted it done. His crew arrived, very professional and courteous. They were also very attentive to safety (using lanyards to climb trees, being very careful where the branches came down, etc.). Had the job done in no time, cleaned up like they had never even been here. The only way you could tell was the trees were gone. I highly recommend Bob and Summit Tree Care, they are the best. When I need trees trimmed or cut down, I will definitely call him again. Almost forgot to mention, a neighbor's tree roots were growing under our garage, his work crew took the time to trim the roots on the other side of our house. Doesn't get any better. We hired Summit to do major brush clearing, tree removal and trimming for fire prevention on our country property. Bob, the owner, provided us with a detailed and very fair quote and fit us into his schedule within a reasonable time. Their impeccable and thorough work was everything we hoped for and more--our property has been completely transformed! Raul, the foreman (with Summit for over 20 years) and his crew of 5 worked quickly and efficiently to remove many tall bay trees, restore our valley view which we hadn't seen in years, cut 30 years of accumulated brush, and raise the canopies and trim nearly 50 oaks over four very full days of work. At our request, they also cut, split, and neatly stacked nearly 3 cords of wood. They did a through job of cleaning up as they went. Raul and his crew were very pleasant and easy to work with. He checked in several times with us to show us their progress and make sure that we were comfortable with their plans. We would highly recommend them and we will have them back again next year to do more for us. read more
