We had a great experience hiring Sonoma-Marin Arborists. The team was incredibly energetic and pleasant to work with on-site and granted a request to shoot the wood chips into a specific area where we needed mulching. The quote was delivered in a timely manner and there were no hidden charges. Zac was great at explaining the work that would be done and listened well to our requests. I would work with them again. read more

These days it's hard to find vendors that are not only highly skilled, but also care so much about leaving everything looking great. We had a couple of 100' Sycamores overhanging buildings. Zac walked the property, noting other trees that could use some weight removed, others that just needed to be cleaned up. We added 9 good sized projects to the list and I was dreading getting the estimate. I was thrilled to get a very reasonable proposal a few days after he walked the property. One Valley Oak that started out tiny and 10 years later was threatening a septic field. They took it down, chipping it with everything else. A full day and the property is transformed. Very pleased with the work, the crew, and the invoice that was identical to the proposed estimate. No need to look anywhere else if you have trees and need someone you trust to keep them healthy and safe. read more

This firm is absolutely amazing! Zac, the owner, is extremely knowledgable and dependable. He got everything done on schedule and went the extra mile when unforeseen things came up. I can't speak highly enough of Zac and the whole team at Sonoma Marin Arborists. They have delivered for me in an extraordinary manner and I look forward to doing more with them. Thank you Zac and team! read more

Once again, Zac Wilder and his crew from smarborists did a fantastic job cutting back overgrown trees and bushes on my property. They literally let the light in, making my front and back yards lighter and brighter. They were careful, controlling where the large branches were placed after being cut. No other vegetation was harmed. They also did an excellent job cleaning up. I highly recommend sonoma-marin arborists, Zac, and his crew. They have always been careful, done a great job, and show great knowledge of and respect for the trees and vegetation. read more

This is the second time I have used Sonoma-Marin Arborists. I would recommend them to anyone. Just the best! Thank you Zach, Di Di, Francisco and all of the hardworking team that take care of our trees. read more

This is an overdue review of Sonoma Marin Arborists. Simply...they're the best. They've done tree work 3 times at my ranch, which has lots of trees on it -- and taken care of dangerous situations with some very large trees. Zac and his crews are seriously professional and very skilled. The most recent job, a few months ago, involved 3 very large, very very tall old Cypress trees that were endangering one of the houses. They brought down these trees exactly where they needed to come down (shout out to Francisco, his foreman on this last job). Zac is also very fairly priced, especially compared to the tree guys available in West Marin. I would never go elsewhere for tree work. Never. Thanks Zac. read more

Zac and his team were on great to work with. They were all very professional, on time and courteous to our neighbors. The service they provided exceeded my expectations, when I can home from work 4 trees were gone from my property and my neighbors came over to sing their praises. I wouldn't think twice about using them again or recommending them to family, friends or clients. Thank you Zac! read more

We had several big oaks come down in a storm. Sonoma-Marin Arborists were out to give us a price promptly and we happily hired them. Great work and nice crew! read more

After the 2 weeks of constant rain and storms in Sonoma County, and seeing all the tree failures throughout the entire area, I was very motivated to reduce the height of the 7 redwoods near my house. I called Sonoma Marin arborists and received a return phone call with 30 minutes- and scheduled a quote appt for 2 days later. Zac explained the scope of the work and made me feel very comfortable with the work plan. Fransisco and crew came out the following week and completed the job VERY quickly! Sonoma-Marin Arborists will be my go-to for tree work in the future. Thanks guys! read more

Really happy with the work by Zac and his crew. We needed a few old trees removed from our backyard, including a redwood, and maintenance work to a few more trees. Zac was super professional, his quote was very reasonable, and the team worked really efficiently on the day of the work. I'm really glad I reached out to Sonoma-Marin, and I can't say enough good things about the experience. read more

On January 9th a large cluster of old growth Eucalyptus trees fell next door to our property. It blocked a one lane dead end road and severely damaged the house next door. Zac and his his crew were there same day and in record time. The trees were promptly removed and the road cleared in just a few hours. This was a monumental task. They worked into the night to make sure the area was clear and safe for the residents. OUTSTANDING WORK !!! I highly recommend Sonoma-Marin Arborist. read more

Our very old and beautiful oak tree fell in the current storm and blocked our street completely. The city of Novato was very responsive in getting Sonoma Marin Arborist out to clear the street, and they did an outstanding job. They were careful, responsive, and driven to clear the tree as quickly as possible. We highly recommend Sonoma-Marin Arborist for any job you have. Exceptional crew! read more

We had a very large deseased pine tree on our property that was hanging half over our neighbors fence that promised to be a very tricky removal project. We sought a few bids and ended up going with Sonoma Marin Arborists. Which we are SO glad that we did!!!! It was a great price and an excellent experience. The tree work was amzing to watch and his crew worked like a well-oiled machine! We also had them trim some mistletoe out of a birch tree and clean up up some dead branches in one of our redwood trees. They arrived at 8:00 AM and finished at 5:00 PM. They hauled all the chipped branches away and left the whole driveway area clean as a whistle. We HIGHLY recommend this company!! read more

Hero of the Day "Francisco"....We had a cat, believe to be a "barn cat" wonder in our yard and our dogs chased it out and it went up the tree across the street. After a two days and not coming down we called one Arborist and they never called us back. We then found "Sonoma-Marin Arborists" and they saved the day. They came over within a few hours when I was at work, located the cat in the tree and managed to get her down safely. We feel so much better that she is not stuck in the tree. Thank you Francisco and the Sonoma-Marin Arborists team. Our new Arborists from here on out. YOU GUYS ROCK!!!! read more

Zach's the man! His crew down three Eucalyptus trees that have gotten out of control. Did the whole job while I was away on vacation. He rescheduled another appointment to get to mine sooner because he was concerned about the trees leaning towards my neighbors homes. When I got back from my vacation I was welcomed with no more trees threatening to kill my neighbors. I can't even see a trace of them. His prices are also quite fair compared to others. I have some more trees that need attention and I am for sure going to use Sonoma-Marin Arborists again. read more

Arborist was great. Very knowledgeable, and honest. Didi in the office was very professional, prompt, and helpful. Crew worked fast and did a nice job with the clean up. Bid was more than fair for two trees. read more

Zach and his team came to my rescue! I had a huge tree in my yard that was growing over my roof and my neighbor's house. Not an easy job, narrow space on my side and gazebo on the other side of the fence. These guys cut the tree down without even getting any debris in my neighbor's yard. They arrived on time, were pleasant to deal with and cleaned everything up. Great job! Will refer for sure. Michelle M. read more

Zach is the best! I Had two large pine trees quickly dying in my backyard precariously close to high voltage PG&E wires which always made me nervous. I reached out to a few arborists and Zac responded quickly and was out to inspect the trees fast. He coordinated with PG&E to view the trees and make trims near the wires. In the end, PG&E determined the trees so highly hazardous that they needed to come down asap and they completed the removal themselves. Zac understood the situation and was gracious and professional with me the entire time. He was happy for me that I saved money even though he lost the job. How many people would do that!?!? Zac was the utmost professional, trustworthy, and I would highly recommend him! read more

Look no further when you need tree work done. Every employee I dealt with from the office to the actual tree trimmers could not have been better. They made the whole process simple read more

The big winds we had last Sunday in Petaluma blew over 1/2 of our very large Ash tree onto the neighbors property, making it more of an emergency situation. After calling three 3 tree service or Arborists, I immediately received a text, phone call and email all from Zach and his staff at Sonoma-Marin Arborists. As my luck would have it, he just so happened to be in Petaluma removing Eucalyptus trees along E. Washington with his Crane! How often do you call an arborist who just happened to be in your neighborhood with a giant crane? A crew of six arrived later that morning with the crane & removed the giant branches from the neighboring property, and then took down the entire remaining tree from my yard, cleaning every bit up, as tho they were never there. It was like having 6 lumberjacks in my backyard. read more

Wow!!!! From the start to the finish, internal and external team......top notch!!! Best communication and best work I've ever experienced!! With what seemed like a complicated job of big trees in tight residential spaces, bees and smaller messy trees, this team took care of it with ease, skill and extreme professionalism. The proposal was extremely competitive, complete with proof of credentials. I'm so happy to have this team in control because when they showed up with all the appropriate equipment for this job, I was extremely confident this was going to be a smooth operation. And it was!! Nothing but the best from this team!! Amazing!!! I didn't realize how big of a job this really was going to be until everything showed up and they skillfully took care of everything!!! And when they were finished, the site was cleaner than when they started! I'm still in amazement of what this team did and I'm so grateful!! I completely recommend Zach and his entire team!! read more

Happy to report a great experience! Zach was friendly, knowledgeable and made our family feel at ease that the job would get done. His crew showed up on time ready to go. Did an amazing job, leaving the tree that was once scary, huge, worrisome looking great and cleared up so much space. We are thankful for them and our yard looks great! Thanks again! Such a nice crew too! read more

These guys did a great job on the removal of three 80 foot redwood trees from our property. The trees were only six feet from our house, creating some concern. After two days they were removed, stumps ground, all the debris cleaned up without any damage to our home. What's more, these guys were the best of three quotes. I would definitely recommend Sonoma Marin Arborists to anyone looking for tree service for a reasonable price. read more

We had a lot of unhealthy or dead tree limbs (a result of the November 2017 wildfires) on the few remaining oak trees in front of our rebuilt home. They were a constant reminder of the devastation. We asked Sonoma-Marin Arborists to remove what they were able to reach. The crews did an excellent job. They climbed to the highest branches and trimmed away everything that needed to go. They exceeded our expectations. They worked hard, were super friendly, took care not to damage our newly planted shrubs, wore masks, and cleaned up the property perfectly. We're very happy with the results. read more

As another reviewer noted, Zac and his team are difficult to reach and not very responsive. We had to contact them several times to get the bid and they were not responsive to our questions after that. On top of this, Zac was prickly and abrasive about scheduling work even when the communication problems were mostly his and his company's fault Skip Sonoma Marin Arborists. Lots of other friendly, responsive, and professional arborists in Marin and Sonoma County. read more

My neighbor had a large willow tree removed. I watched these guys work for the better part of an hour roping down limbs and cleaning up/chipping. They worked safely and efficiently and based on watching them work I would not hesitate to hire them to work on my trees. Additionally, the tree they took out overhung my property and my kids play structure. They did a fabulous job not damaging anything and cleaning up the resulting tree mess. TLDR: They are a good crew don't hesitate to go with them. read more

Sonoma-Marin Arborists - chainsawing tree - Landscaping Near Me - Petaluma, California

Knowledgeable, competent, professional, and pleasant to work with--that's the low down on my experience with this company. I got a number of estimates and played phone tag with other companies. This one was by far my favorite and I was pleasantly surprised at how competitive their bid was in light of the high quality, detailed evaluation Zac did for the estimate. His office staff was friendly and professional as were the team members that Zac brought to do the work. We got on the schedule quickly. We had a few trees removed, others trimmed and thinned out, and one tree substantially pruned to top down for its health and vitality. The work was done very well and the clean up was complete. We are very satisfied and would use them again. read more

I have used Zac and his team many times over the last few years. His team played a major role in clearing our property for fire protection prior to the 2017 fires. Our property largely survived due to their work and was viewed by fire chiefs/captains as model of what they wish other homeowners would do. We continue to use Zac and team. They have a large crew to get big jobs done and the equipment to make it happen. They have some very talented crew members that are able to tackle difficult jobs and are fun to watch in the process. His team also works very well together and enjoy the work they are doing. read more

The estimate was fair. Zac was here on time with a large crew. These guys knew what they were doing and in a few hours job was finished;yard cleaned up and trees trimmed. We recently bought a house with a lot of trees in the backyard that had been neglected. Zac walked thru the yard and pointed out that one of our Birch trees had a beetle infestation and should be removed. All my other trees are healthy but needed to be trimmed for better growth. Sonoma Marin Arborist are super professional, courteous, safe, punctual, and team work oriented. They went above and beyond my expectations. My neighbors all stated they were impressed that they removed a 100' + Redwood by crane, having to bring it OVER my house and load it by sections into their truck. When the tree was removed, they cleaned every area and left no visible signs of this enormous task. They expertly completed this removal with 4 hours of their arrival! Amazing. read more

These guys were great. Zac's guys were very personable and very professional. Here by 8 and gone by noon. The best part, you couldn't even tell they were even here.
