I live somewhere where Jerry's Tree Service (more like disservice) has been used, and these guys are NOT skilled tree cutters in the least--they make it sound as though they have a skilled arborist on site with the tree cutters supervising--NOT. All I've seen them do is butcher trees, and strip suspiciously large amounts of foliage off trees. These guys are not in this business for the love of trees and nature, and we need trees more than ever! This kind of mindset (that human actions have no effect on the rest of the planet) is not only toxic but antiquated. The crew that came did a little damage to a very old and decrepit fence section that needed to be removed to cut the tree, but when I contacted the company they said they'd take care of it, and they did. (Crews sometimes have to run to get all their day's work in, and this fence needed replacing due to age and rotting posts, but the boss and his son came out on an early Saturday morning and fixed it up better than it was before without even telling us they were coming! Called Jerry for service, first appointment time was missed second appointment he was 30 min late past his window time. Made contact with my wife and left, never mentioned his recommendation for tree. The next day I called and the lady said she would find out. Short time later she called and said he recommends doing nothing for now or possibly just fertilizing. Made appt to fertilize the tree for Friday and he never showed up. Wasted my time of going back and forth for 3 weeks and never completed the job! Complete waste of my time. Call someone else- Sadly he was recommended but will not ever call this company again. His crew even took a bush off my yard waste bin that was sticking out and threw it in the chipper without me asking. If I could give this business 10 stars I would. Removed a 90ft tall Pine Tree with multiple trunks without a crane right next to my house with no damage and no crane. Most other companies wouldn't touch it without a crane and wanted another $3000.00 just for the crane. Removed a smaller tree today and what I would expect would take half the day was done in a couple hours. Area was raked smooth and you couldn't even tell they had been there except for the missing tree: One thing I noticed today which impressed me was that while Jerry was grinding a stump and his guys were climbing a tree you could tell he had one eye on the guys. Not because he was "watching them", but because he takes pride in the work and cares deeply about the safety of his crew. You could tell he quickly assesses the way they are harnessed in, tying off branches and if they need a quick hand to handle a larger branch. Jerry is all about the money. He came out quickly for an estimate & though he was high, he was available. Now I know why. They left the place dirty. They cut the stumps quite high & kept trying to up-sell their stump grinding service. Later, after I had paid, I found that the watering system under the pine Jerry's had removed was damaged by falling rounds. He wouldn't return calls. Finally he picked up the phone & I explained the situation. Jerry curtly said there was nothing he could do about it. When I suggested he pay for the damage he suddenly got an attitude. Since then I've talked to several people in the business about Jerry's and they all say the same - Jerry's can do rough tree removal & trimming - he's fine for PG&E work but no good for homeowners. He's known for telling people how "unsafe" trees are to get more business. If you're the kind of American who cares, his crew only speaks Spanish. Jerrys tree sevice has pruned and removed trees for me and my very elderly neighbor.. I went on Yelp to write a reveiw. Both my neighbor and I were so thrilled with his service and employees.. Our trees look great, he even did some extra work for me above his quote at no charge. I read a few of his reveiws and rather then continue to write about how pleased we were with him I feel I want to address the idiot who has no clue what he is saying about the Jerrys tree service we used. His workers are very Americanized and one of them maybe two are his own family members. Jerry who is a native Californian does alot of his own work and meets with most of his clients personally. When Jerrys workers left my house it was very clean and neat. He blocked my neighbors driveway for a bit, walked over first and asked if it was okay, they too have him out next week for a tree trimming. As far as being a proud American when I went by to drop off my check in his mailbox he flies an American flag out front and has a flag decal on his boat.
