On Christmas Eve, we had a neighbor's redwood tree fall on our house in the middle of the night. I called Sandborn Tree Service at 4 am and was able to talk to someone about the situation. Chip Sandborn came out at 6:30 am to assess the damage and had a crew clearing the tree off of our roof that same morning. If anyone ever needs an arborist or any tree removed/maintained, I can't recommend Sandborn enough! We have a bunch of large trees that needed to be pruned: valley oak, live oak, pistachio, walnut etc . Matt came out and walked the property explaining which trees needed what type of pruning. He was extremely knowledgeable and personable which was why we chose to go with Sandborn tree service. It was a two day job with four workers and they were extremely careful not to damage anything and did an excellent job cleaning up both days before leaving. The trees look great and our neighbors were also happy with how the workers were extremely careful when accessing their yards to prune our trees. I had Sandborn trim my poor fruitless mulberries that had been incorrectly pollarded in the past. They are old and I didn't know what to do with them. They took time and shaped them properly while helping me keep my insurance company happy by pruning them away from my roof. From the very first interaction with the office (Linda, Diane & Mariah) to meeting Ernie, who provided a very detailed, itemized proposal within 24 hours, to the crew (Daniel, Luis, Juan and Ignacio) who treated our property like their own - everyone was an absolute pleasure. When we bought a home in Sonoma County our property had a few whacked eucalyptus giants. One stood over a live fireplace chimney (go figure)! Early this September an estimator from Sandborn gave me an estimate to remove a large branch from my Liquidamber tree and we agreed on a date and price. After confirming and cancelling three times, Sandborn called again to reschedule our appointment. I asked them not to bother and was very disappointed in their customer service. Last winter, in a bad storm a limb fell out of my 100+ year old HUGE fir tree leaving another limb dangerously dangling by a thread over our busy road. I called Sandborn and they were there in under 45 minutes. They had a crew out in under an hour to remove the limb, and didn't leave until they felt they had removed any additional limbs that were dangerous. It wasn't exactly cheap, but considering the urgency with which I needed them there, I can't complain at all! Will hire them again! read more

I went for a walk at the back of my acreage one afternoon and lo and behold, Sandborn Tree Service had cooperated with my neighbor to clearcut 1/4 acre of my land without my permission. They did not question taking down an 8 foot fence, or double checking ownership of land, but instead perpetrated unscrupulous cutting of trees without permission. A volunteer in my vegetable garden grew to become a 50+ ft. monster pine, seemingly, in just a few years. Due to its size and location, the folks I normally call on couldn't remove the tree. It was growing close to two homes, in the back, and had split into two trucks midway up, with massive limbs extending out more than 30ft.
