I am middle eastern and the son of a chef and I can say this is what you should expect of a middle eastern restaurant. I don't know why all Middle East restaurants in Denver get great reviews, probably people want to feel cultured, but I assure you this place is what you would expect if you travel. The staff are friendly, but not the American expectation of fake bubbly servers, just like you would get in the Middle East. I actually take their hummus home to have, which is the first since living in Denver. I only wish they would make their own pittas. We have tried many things there. My favorites are the hummus, baba ganoosh and the kafta kabab. I have been there enough times to say they are great, authentic Middle Eastern cuisine. read more

First impression: very pleasant. We weren't all that hungry... Just wanted to eat something light. We always leave feeling like it was money well spent. The authenticity of the food can't be found anywhere else in Arvada. I could bathe in the hummus or just stick my whole face in it! In my opinion, the service people aren't happy with is most like a cultural difference. The remodel has added more to the ambiance, but honestly I just love the food! My wife and I has been coming to this restaurant for years. We absolutely love the food, the hummus is the creamiest hummus I've ever eaten! We often meet our friends here and enjoy a great meal and great company. The service is always good and the chai is fantastic. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is that its in a strip mall and has that mom and pop kind of feel to it. read more

After serving military time in the Middle East I developed a taste for Chicken shawarma. My husband and I found this small eatery in a shopping center next to a Safeway and thought we would give it a try. I am so glad we did. They have the best flavors and they serve saffron rice with their meals which is so rare in the other Denver Mediterranean restaurants we have been in. Chose to take out tonight. Ordered the beef kabobs and the grilled mushrooms. Ordered baklava for dessert. The food was great and hot. Ready for me as I arrived. Seasoning for the beef was perfect. Really enjoy the rice. Large portions as well. The sauce was a bit runny. That is the only thing that was wrong with my order. No silverware in the bag, however I think I needed to grab it from the table when I picked my order up. So that's on me. Will defiantly order from this restaurant again. Great job guys. read more

Sultan Grill has become one of our favorites. The hummus, gyros, shwarma (some of the best I've had), and garlic dip are definitely my favorites, and we've become convinced that the garlic dip may possess magic powers... cold healing, sinus-clearing, erasure of general malaise...seriously it's straight garlic and lemon juice. It's so good for you while at the same time being basically garlic mayo you scoop up with pita. Awesome! read more

First time here, came with a friend. Nice environment, good wait staff. The lamb dish was very nicely done and I plan to order that next time. But the gyro wasn't as I expected, was just braised meat on a bed of rice, with tatziki on the side. That's my only complaint. Wonderful place. Really excellent gyros crispy just like I love them. The hummus was literally the best I've ever had. Even the kids enjoyed it. They had the standard stuff for kids Mac n cheese, chicken nuggets but also gyro or kafta pita sandwich which my oldest loved. Try the mint tea for sure as well. We will be back! read more

We order from here for lunch frequently. The food has always been amazing until recently, after their remodel. Today the food was almost INEDIBLE. I called to let them know and the only response I got from the woman on the phone was "Sorry." I paused and she said nothing else. Excellent excellent food and service!!! I've been here several times and each time gotten the hummus and pitas for starters, and then the chicken and rice dish with the yogurt sauce. All are amazing, they were so good that I keep getting the same thing every trip! So I can't speak to the rest of the menu unfortunately. But the small staff is friendly and helpful, and appears to be a family operation. Just the type of small business that I like to support, and the food is soooo good! Now based upon first glance the Sultan grill doesn't look like much, certainly not fit for a Sultan but I'm game to give anybody a shot to impress based on what I came for...The Food! First I ordered the Fatouch Salad, a pleasant mix of tomatoes, cucumber, mint, olive oil, and lemon juice, tossed with roasted crunchy pita bread pieces ...combined with a Falafel appetizer, 4 pieces in all, fried ever so lightly and to perfection. Pocketed with warm pita you most certainly should be full and satisfied. I also had a bite of the fresh Tabbouleh salad and partook in my share of a vegetarian sampler highlighted by the hummus and a smokey flavored Baba Ghanouj (sure the menu says baked but I tasted smoke). The other peeps with my crew, feasted on an awesome and 'as good as YaYa's' bowl of Bamya or Syrian okra cooked with lamb meat, tomato sauce, pomegranate sauce, fresh cilantro, garlic, and spices. All in all, the sultan grill is worth a stop and fit for any King who likes to eat !! read more

Dear Sultan Grill, If zero stars were an option, that is what I would give you. That was the WORST customer service I have ever received. And that's actually saying a tremendous amount. I drove a short 1.2 miles from my work to grab a bite to go. I ordered harira soup. For the sake of this rant let us liken it to chicken noodle soup. I waited approximately 15 minutes for my order of soup and a pita. I received soup and a pita in the store bag, still cold, no spoon, no napkin. A block away I looked at the soup, it was only broth. I ordered "chicken noodle soup" and was given broth. No chicken, no noodles, no celery. Just the oregano. I turned right around and explained that the soup was only broth and it was missing the solids. it was missing the lamb, potatoes, and chickpeas listed on the menu. and this is where I started to get pissed. Instead of apologizing the girl at the front tried to tell me that it had been "blended" and that's the way they make it, like she didn't really understand what I was asking. I've read comments that perhaps there is a language barrier at the Sultan Grill. That's bullshit. It's a pretended language barrier because while she acted like she didn't know what I was requesting she went to the kitchen window and repeated what I said word for word, as in "hey! it's only liquid! no chickpeas. no potatoes. no lamb." I waited another 15 minutes (she ignored me), the cook came out and avoided eye contact while he waited for the microwave to finish. That's right. Not once but twice I was served soup microwaved in the plastic to-go container. Sultan Grill, at least act like you give a shit. At this point, I could care less what your food tastes like. I drove a mere 2.4 miles round trip and it took 45 MINUTES to get a cup of microwaved soup with a cold piece of pita bread in its original wrapping, and no eating utensils. read more
