Decent food, but small portions for the price. We prefer Ali Baba's, but the service at the Sultan Grill is significantly better so if that matters to you... Sultan Grill has the amazing ability to find ripe tomatoes year-round, which is no small feat! They also have a great hummus and the most flavorful kofta kabobs I've had in the area. I've been less than impressed with their gyros, which is cut into long, thin slices that end up a bit dry. Their sandwiches are under-stuffed, with too much pita for how little meat, veggies, and sauce you get. The service is polite and friendly. read more

Started off on the wrong foot when the server told us we were not allowed to bring our service dog inside. We have a real service puppy in training with a reputable organization. We do not have a fake service dog, and according to Colorado law puppies in training are to be treated the same as full grown service dogs. We decided to eat outside anyway, but when I reminded the server that they actually cannot legally refuse to allow the dog, she said the owner is Syrian and he has the right to refuse service to anyone. That's actually not true, and he could get into a lot of trouble with the ADA. Turns out our chicken was dry and tasteless anyway. Won't be going back. read more

I'm not sure what's with all the good reviews. I came here for lunch based of some reviews. I ordered the lunch special. Beef kabob, rice, and salad. First off, the salad comes out with browned edges. Should have never been served. I mentioned it to the employee and they just took it away and didn't offer a replacement. Grocery stores won't even sell it looking like that. Second the rice was very bland. Wasn't seasoned hardly at all. Finally the beef kabob was over cooked and extremely chewy. My husband and I have been coming here for years. We drive all the way from Evergreen to come here. It's worth the drive! Walked in, no greeting. Asked if I should sit as there weren't any gestures made. I ordered. A salad that looked like bag salad with yellow and white lettuce far from fresh. Entree was fast however the beef sharwama was chewy like rubber difficult to break down. The hummus tasted store bought and it was a thin tiny portion. Upon leaving I had food left to take home, was I offered a take out bag, no! On top of that I had to go get it myself. Never again! This place was recommended. Came here because of a coupon. The service was very good although it wasn't very busy. The food was mediocre at best. The gyro sandwiches could have had more meat and it was a little dry and over done. The baba ganoush was pretty good. Watch out for the ketchup bottles, they have hot sauce in them. Ordered two lunch special for me and my two kids, $9 each, so I expected something filling judging from the price. my kids chicken shwarma was good but the portion was tiny, barely enough to fill my 9yo. My beef skewer was not very tender and one of the four small squares was too veiny to chew. For the price it was a rip off, won't be going there again, don't go if you are hungry. I ordered a greek salad with chicken shawarma and a gyro sandwich. The salad leaked all in the to-go bag and was drenched with oil & a lemony vinegar. I asked for no tomatoes - but they loaded them on there anyway. The chicken was decent but nothing to write home about, especially not worthy of the gushing praise from others. I have made better seasoned chicken at home. The gyro sandwich meat was tasty - that was probably the best part of the whole meal. I ended up picking it off the soggy pita bread and eating it plain. Pretty bland and the portions are small. The completely empty restaurant at dinner time on a Thursday was a little odd, but after getting home and having our meal now I know why. We split the veggie combo and aside from the lack of flavor the portions were all really small. The pita bread was also really tough and chewy. When my girlfriend mentioned last Saturday that there was a little Middle Eastern restaurnant close to where we were running some errands my taste buds began telling me it was gyro time. We found Sultan Grill in the strip mall and upon entering the place everything seemed good to go, especially the fragrance of nicely spiced foods. After being seated we started to feel like they really didn't want us in there at all. There's nothing worse than to go somewhere and feel like they wish you would just leave. The waitress completely ignored us for a good 10+ minutes, we were just about to leave when she stopped and asked if we were ready to order yet. We ordered drinks, the appetizer combo, and a couple of gyro sandwiches. The kitchen took about a minute to get the combo together, with the hot items coming from a steam table. It consisted of hummus, garlic dip, baba ghanouj, Syrian green bean salad, grape leaf, falafel, spinach sambuse, and pita. The kitchen rang the bell but our food sat in the window for a while because the waitress was taking an order from the other table that was in there. Not sure why she couldn't have waited to take the order, or even more why any one of the other 3 employees that were hanging out couldn't have dropped it at our table. Anyway, a few minutes later the bell rang again and the gyros were also in the window. And a few minutes later it all hit our table. We both liked the hummus and Syrian green bean salad, and thought the spinach sambuse and baba ghanouj were OK. The gyros had far less meat than any other place I've gotten one before, and the meat also tasted like it was from a steam table. Not so good. As we were sitting there waiting for the check I told my GF that I thought I might have to do my first 1 star review. After about 10 minutes we finally gave up waiting and went to the counter to pay, after which the waitress gave us a piece of (old) kunafeh on our way out the door. Yes, it was from the day before (or before) and tasted bad but she somehow managed to turn this into a 2 star review. Is this restaurant even real?! We went to try this place because it's kind of in our area, but when we pulled up we were a little nervous just at the look of the old blinds in the window. When we walked in a young hostess took us to a dirty table with a wasp flying around. We sat there for a second while the hostess went back to her cell phone up front. After taking a look around its dirty everywhere. The ambiance is terrifying. You can see into the grilling rates which hasn't looked like they cleaned it since the place opened. We sat there for a good long minute and left. They weren't too worried we were leaving. I'm sure they get that all the time! Why wouldn't you have your restaurant clean?! The service was extremely poor, and the food wasn't even good enough to make up for it. It took an hour and 20 minutes for three people to have lunch. From the moment we walked in, I felt like they wished we would just leave. Another review said the same and I echo that 100%. We waited for 10 minutes to have someone even acknowledge that we were sitting there. The one server then proceeded to clear a different table, wipe it, and get her child food. Her child was running around the restaurant, BAREFOOT, and annoying all the customers. The server was wearing flip flops. Looking at the bottom of the feet of the child, doesn't seem as though the floor has seen a mop in months. At one point my water had been empty for over 15 minutes, and I was about to just get up and fill it myself. We also waited over 15 minutes after we finished eating to even have her make eye contact about a bill. She made eye contact, noticed that we were about to ask her for something, and kept on walking. She never picked up plates, and then we had to go up front to get our bill. We then waited for her to come back, and she never did, so we had to get back up to ask if we could please pay. We asked her to split the credit cards by amount, she said she understood, and then proceeded to just run our cards for whatever she felt like. The food was just no where near good enough to ever come back and be "served" like that again. Just like another user wrote, there were multiple other family members around the restaurant. All just staring at guests, while the server wandered around chasing after her three year old. I think some simple things could happen to make this better. 1. WEAR APPROPRIATE FOOTWEAR. 2. GREET PEOPLE AND GET A DRINK ORDER WHEN THEY SIT DOWN, NOT 10-15 LATER WHEN YOU TAKE AN ORDER. 3. DON'T BRING YOUR KIDS TO WORK. (If you must, at least make them wear shoes.) read more

This is by far the best Greek food I've eaten in the Denver metro area! My husband and I always get the Gyros plate with a side of hummus. We love it so much, we don't want to try anything else! The atmosphere could be better... it's in a corner shopping center with a grocery store. But it's family owned, the service is great, the prices are reasonable, and the food keeps us going back over and over again. We've eaten there at least 15 times, and it's always great! I ordered some pickup from here today and I was really impressed. I ordered the Chicken Kabob Entree which had more than enough food for me. The hummus was creamy and rich in flavor, the side salad had a really good dressing. The garlic sauce that came with it was super flavorful and not over powering like some places serve. And even though my food was waiting for me when I got there (Traffic was kind of a pain), but the time I got back home which was another 15 minutes it was all still warm, and the chicken was very tender and had great flavor. I will for sure be ordering food from Sultan Grill again, and perhaps eating in next time so that I can enjoy it right away! read more

We went to the sister restaurant in Golden and were so enamored of the food that we decided to try Sultan especially after one of the wait staff told us that Sultan had a more extensive menu. Sadly we were disappointed. This place is actually filthy, can't believe it still opened, and the service was poor. My husband ordered the quail appetizer which was undercooked. The soup, which is what we kind of came for was underseasoned. Also, the sister restaurant is clean and has a wood-burning oven where they make their own pita. Here the pita is just average. I am middle eastern and the son of a chef and I can say this is what you should expect of a middle eastern restaurant. I don't know why all Middle East restaurants in Denver get great reviews, probably people want to feel cultured, but I assure you this place is what you would expect if you travel. The staff are friendly, but not the American expectation of fake bubbly servers, just like you would get in the Middle East. I actually take their hummus home to have, which is the first since living in Denver. I only wish they would make their own pittas. We have tried many things there. My favorites are the hummus, baba ganoosh and the kafta kabab. I have been there enough times to say they are great, authentic Middle Eastern cuisine. read more
