Strawberry & Taro w/ Coconut on the side

Sul & Beans is always a reliable go-to for bingsoo. We stopped by the Convoy location after dinner nearby and satisfied our sweet tooth. We ordered the Taro Bingsoo ($13.95), Strawberry Bingsoo ($13.95), and the 5-piece Boong Uh Bbang ($9.75). The bingsoo portions were a good size and definitely shareable. Both flavors were excellent - the strawberry tasted fresh (though a bit tart), and the red bean + taro combination was especially satisfying. Extra cups and spoons are conveniently available at the pickup area. As with most plazas in Convoy, parking can be a bit of a challenge.

We LOVED this dessert spot! They had refreshing drinks and Bingsu. We've been looking for a place in Northern California where they serve Bingsu and no one has it! We were determined to fill our craving when down in SD. Mira mesa has the best Korea spots for dinner and dessert. We got the chocolate Bingsu and two Boong uh Bbang filled with red bean and Nutella. Both desserts were delicious!!! The restaurant had many tables to sit. Sul & Beans share the space with Somi Somi which sells similar products. We've had Somi Somi before but it doesn't rival Sul and Beans we would definitely prefer Sul and Beans. I highly recommend this spot over all the others. Parking is the only downside. You'll have to get lucky in their strip mall parking situation. You also have to pay after the first hour. You pay by QR code using your phone. There is also street parking.

When the weather is warm, it's always a nice treat to have some shaved ice desserts here. The ice is flavored and the texture of the shaved ice is like snow melting in your mouth. My favorite is the berry one that comes with fresh strawberries and blueberries. The tartness is the fruits is a nice balance to the sweetness of the shaved snow and condensed milk that is drizzled on top. It's a very satisfying dessert that doesn't leave you feeling heavy. Satisfy the sweet cravings without compromising too much on the calories.

Check out this insulated to go bag that came with my order. Awesome.

I really like this place! We came in to try the SomiSomi next door but ended up here because the display case looked so delicious. We got the Strawberry Bingsoo and it was so light with the perfect amount of sweet to it. The ice was like snow! So fluffy and good. The girls at the counter were very sweet and even asked if we have any allergies when ordering which I think it's a great move on their part. The place is clean and has a relaxing ambience to it. We got it to go and it came in a really functional insulated bag with an ice pack in it . You don't see this type of service and dedication to the customer anymore. This place really hit the spot!

Just wanted a drink without caffeine and the sweet potato latte sounded nice. I've had Sweet potato latte back in south Korea but in a hot version so I wanted to try it with light ice. As expected, it did remind me of the one I had but def. Would've been better in a hot version.

Nice Korean coffee, tea and dessert place on Convoy, prompt service and spacious atmosphere connected to a SomiSomi ice cream / taiyaki place. Their iced honey lemon tea is also great. Met up with a good lawyer and screenwriter friend of mine who works for the City of San Diego, Brian Byun. Recommended!

Love the boong uh bang! It's the Korean taiyaki (fish pancake) and they have many fillings to choose from. You can do an order of 2 or 5 and they don't have to be all the same fillings. I tried the red bean, black sesame and hotteok and they're all good. My favorite is the hotteok and it's the best when it's fresh and hot. Highly recommend it. My friends enjoyed the shaved ice and there's a lot of variety of the shaved ice that you can enjoy. The service is quick. Place your order at the counter and wait for your number to be called. It may be hard to get a table during their busy hours.

One of my favorite desserts spots in convoy and there is a lot! Very chill vibes during day to do school work, hangout, or a cute date spot. The atmosphere changes I would say during the weekends because convoy is busyyy! It is also attached to Somi Somi so finding seating may be a challenge when it's busy. There is a lot of seating however, with booth side seating too. The menu is big, and they have a display space for their popular options. Service is very kind too. My bf and I got the Oreo Bingsoo - yummy and refreshing!! and we studied away they don't have Wi-Fi though!

    Strawberry Bingsoo
    Kimme F.

It looks more appetizing than what it really was. Strawberries weren't ripe or sweet, very tart and it was more white than red. The shaved ice was very soft and fluffy. I liked the sweet condensed milk it was covered in. I also liked the mochi on top. I thought it was pieces of cheese or cake but pretty yummy mochi cubes. If you're craving something light but slightly sweet after dinner, I would recommend this place. Service wasn't too bad but it was pretty packed on a Sunday night before closing.

Had a lovely visit to this dessert café! The ambiance was clean, well-decorated, and welcoming. definitely gives off cozy café vibes. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and they seemed to know the menu well. There are so many options on the menu that we had a hard time choosing! We ended up going with their new chocolate banana bingsoo. It was delicious and more than enough to share between two people. It was around $15 - maybe a bit on the higher side, but totally worth it for the portion and quality.

Green tea with strawberries on the side! Sul & Beans is a classic and automatic dessert option when in convoy. The ultimate night cap in my opinion following kbbq

Sul and Beans feels like the absolute best spot when you're craving something refreshing and sweet! Service was fast and there were plenty of seatings. Can't wait to try the other flavors!

My SIL took us here for dessert after eating at SOT BBQ. I've never had bingsoo before even though I'm Korean. We ordered the strawberry, matcha, and Oreo. All of them were delicious! I really enjoyed the matcha and Oreo varieties. Definitely, would come back when we are back in town!

There's lots of seating for anyone who wants to hangout with friends or study. So awesome to see that they serve Nami (aashleyk's matcha brand). I ordered a chicken empanada, pan de elote, & an iced matcha cloud (less sweet & oat milk). Everything was absolutely DELISH. I'm pretty picky about my matcha, especially when it's in an Einspanner form. I loved the contrast between the sweet/salty cloud and the matcha itself! This place has their ratios down perfectly. Can't wait to come back (probably tomorrow)! 11/10.

Most other coffee shops charge $1.00 or more now, so that was a really nice surprise. They also gave me a stamp card for future visits, which I'll definitely be using. Will absolutely be back!

It was so good I've recommended it to a bunch of people, so I decided to check out the original Kearny Mesa spot out of respect. In my head, the first location should be even better since that's where it started, but that wasn't the case at all and it ended up being pretty disappointing. I ordered online and it showed a 19 minute wait for just a drink, which felt long for around 6:30 in the morning. I placed it anyway, but when I got there the plaza was basically empty. It's in a quieter area near military and recruitment offices. My drink was already sitting at the pickup counter with my name on it, so I was in and out in seconds. There is some outdoor seating with music playing, which is nice, but I didn't stay long. I ordered the same matcha I got in Mission Valley because it was that memorable. The only difference was dairy milk instead of oat milk, but that shouldn't have changed it this much. The color was the first red flag. It was super light, almost pale green, instead of that bright vibrant green you expect from good matcha. You can usually tell quality just from that. The taste didn't match either. The Mission Valley one had a strong matcha flavor with a slight sweetness from the date syrup, and the knafeh cold foam pulled everything together. This one tasted weak and kind of flat. The cold foam was still good and tasted the same, but that's only a small part of the drink and not enough to save it. Now I'm honestly confused because I've been recommending this drink to people and if they came to this location first, their experience would be completely different. It just didn't live up to what I had before. I'll probably go back to the Mission Valley spot to see if that version is actually the standard, but this one left me pretty let down.

Wait outside on the sidewalk (no exterior seating) and someone will come to take you inside. Do not ring the door bell. The theme is to take it slow. Each customer typically waits 20-30 minutes to enter as part of how they do things, even if there is open seating inside. Not sure if they use a timer to space entries but it seems consistent. They take one group in at a time. Interior: A few tables around the wall and then bar seating. Would not recommend for parties greater than 2, there just isn't the space. They welcome service animals, babies/children and strollers from what I observed. The music was very, very loud. It was difficult to hold a conversation. I did not see a bathroom. Ordering process: After seating you wait for a little bit for them to bring small water cups and a QR menu with a table number and a set of rules. They do not have a physical menu, you must use your phone to order. Cell phone reception was dicey and took a long time to load. They have an interesting concept where you have a digital 'tab' open on their toast website. Unfortunately you must provide your full name, email and phone number. They have pour over drinks (note these can take 15-20 minutes), matcha, Hojicha and others. You may only order one drink per person at a time. They have a small snack menu with rotating foods. They use oat milk only. No substitutions allowed. After mobile ordering, drinks take 20-30 minutes as part of their take it slow vibe. Matcha $8 is from Paru tea and was very good. Hojicha $8 was too milky and didn't have a strong enough flavor. When you are done you walk to the register by the door and wait to be checked out. If they are making a drink you wait until they are finished. I wasn't really a fan. Staff were brusque. Music was too loud to converse.

The vanilla was an old fashioned vanilla which was creamier than the other flavors but still definitely a bit icy. I would just get 3 scoops of coconut next time! The added mango on top was super sweet and soft, which contrasted drastically the meaty texture and very subdued flavor of the coconut pieces (maybe shouldn't have eaten it after that sweet mango!). They also have some unique Thai flavors of Lay's chips + special desserts (mango sticky rice, coconut pancakes, coconut pudding, etc.). I'd return for some more coconut ice cream and to try those special desserts! There are a few tables inside and more ornately decorated tables outside. No restrooms. Service was friendly.
