This was my first time at Sugaring NYC, located in Capitol Hill, Seattle. It was a quick walk from the Link Light Rail Station and very easy to find among the other businesses on Broadway. Kayla let me into the shop, checked me in, and was my esthetician for my wax! She was easy to talk to and had great customer service! She paid close attention to the little details, like going in after to pluck any leftover hairs that didn't come off with the wax. As well as, removing the ingrown hairs and recommending an ingrown hair serum to help for future hair growth. I would definitely come back again and book with her. I have never been to a sugaring/waxing place like this one before and was super impressed. I used to go to the location in Gig Harbor but haven't gone in years because it's out of the way. So glad they opened a location in Seattle! Julya was a fantastic aesthetician. She made sure I was comfortable, walked me through it, and gave me a little gift bag since it was my first time there. I was worried it would hurt since it had been a few years but she made it practically painless. The only downside is that there were flies in the lobby. I'm not sure why, I didn't see anything lingering around. It must be a summer thing. But it felt completely clean besides that. Jade was incredible! I've been sugared at a number of places and this one was awesome. I will definitely be back! First off, the studio is adorable! Clean, bright, well styled. I appreciated the esthetics and details in the design. Jade was a great communicator leading up to my appointment and made me feel so welcomed even though I was running a few minutes late. I am a baby when it comes to pain tolerance and she was great at talking me up to prepare for the hard parts with breathing and applying pressure after. I was a sugaring virgin...I didn't know any of the perks of sugaring till I met with Jade. Let me tell you she is so knowledgeable, warm and friendly. We made each other laugh and there was no awkward moments for me through the whole process. Also I'm a big girl, at 320 pounds and she knew all the angles to put me on to make the process quicker and more efficient. I had never tried sugaring before but had heard it was easier and better than waxing. The aesthetician commented that something about my body temperature and the sugar didn't seem to mix, but it was, well quite a bit longer and more painful than I anticipated. But, I am still giving 4 stars because the atmosphere was enjoyable and my aesthetician was a delight to be around, even considering the circumstances. I'm hopeful that with regular appointments the process will get easier. read more

Buyer beware!!! While the actual sugaring service provided by all the estheticians at Sugaring NYC has been nothing short of fantastic, the business practices of this franchise are terrible. In August 2023, I purchased an unlimited underarm sugaring membership and was provided with a Terms and Conditions document that stated I could cancel at anytime. Fast forward to December 12, 2023: I was notified the day before my appointment that the Capitol Hill location no longer had any staff so they were cancelling my appointment. I immediately requested to have my membership canceled, as I was no longer going to be able to use the service I paid for. I was informed the message would be passed along to the manager for assistance. Since then, I have reached out to the store in Gig Harbor (same owner and the contact I was provided with) multiple times via phone, email and text messaging and I have yet to hear back from anyone. I also reached out to their corporate headquarters with no luck and was charged the monthly fee again; I have already disputed that charge with my bank. To the owner: your lack of response has been reprehensible and I have been left with no choice but to go this route so no one else makes the same mistake that I did. read more
