My short, stubby lashes finally have some life to them; farewell, my lash curler. (I haven't needed to use mine in months now.) While the effects of lash lifts aren't generally as pronounced as extensions, I can definitely notice a significant difference, and so do close family and friends. Every visit feels like a spa-like experience -- one time I even nearly fell asleep! To grow out my lashes, Shiori recommended that I start using RevitaLash. I'm always a little skeptical about these kinds of products, but I tried it, and wow -- I definitely noticed a difference in my lash length after a few weeks. I use it every day now. My only comment is that parking can be a bit tricky as it's all street parking, so I'd recommend showing up a little earlier to account for parking time. I had the lash perm done and couldn't be happier. Let me preface this with the fact that I have the absolute straightest eyelashes in the world. I've tried everything, heated lash curlers, the Korean Q-tip and fire method, and anything else I could find. Nothing works. My lashes just refuse to curl. My entire life, I've never seen my natural lashes curled. Then, enter Skin Care for Shiori. I tried the lash perm for the first time, as I had heard about it from a friend. I had tried extensions before but they're way too high maintenance and really uncomfortable, especially when showering or washing my face. I also felt they were way too gaudy for me. The lash perm looks more natural, but still makes you look sort of glam, but in a more natural beauty kind of way. It's also a lot more affordable and A LOT more comfortable. I can't emphasize how much happier I am with the perm than with the extensions. And they look GREAT. And even added to that, Shiori is SUCH a pleasure to work with. My lashes were pretty damaged from long time of lash extension, short stubby and all in the same lengths, so Shiori warned me that it might be a wow lift. I have never seen my eyelashes pointing upwards in my life. I've tried lash perm before and was told that my eyelashes are hopeless. I've used numerous expensive eyelash curlers, including heated ones, with no avail - within 30 minutes they are bound to point towards the earth. I've stopped wearing mascara because my face always end up wearing more mascara than my eyelashes. But 30 minutes with Shiori fixed it! I basically screamed with joy when she showed me the mirror after the lash perm, because they looked fantastic! If you're looking for a cheaper alternative to eyelash extensions, come here! I think Shiori also does eyelash extensions, but I receive lash lifts from her :). They're $50 for a lash lift and last about a month and a half for me. My lashes have never been able to stay up with an eyelash curler, so finally seeing it up right was great. Most of the time, I don't use mascara, but if I want it really noticeable, I'll put a little on. She has a little room where she does the lash lift. It's nice and clean with some calming sounds, but me and her talk the whole time :P. She is very personable! You will get on a comfortable cushioned bed. I think the process takes about 35-40 minutes? Time goes by quick! It wasn't uncomfortable at all. If you are curious about lash lifts, I would definitely recommend her! Shiori is an eyelash extension wizard. She worked her magic and did an amazing job. My eyelashes are short and needed to be fuller for my upcoming wedding and Shiori did just that. I purchased a Groupon and met Shiori for my FIRST photo rejuvenation session. I'm not going to lie, it wasn't completely painless. If you've ever had any type of laser treatment, you'll understand what I mean. That saying "no pain no gain" does apply here. What's a photo rejuvenation facial you ask? It's a skin treatment that uses intense pulsed light or other thermal or chemical methods to treat some skin conditions and remove wrinkles arising from photoaging. The process induces controlled wounds on the skin, prompting it to heal itself by creating new cells. This process reverses the effects of photoaging to a certain extent by removing wrinkles. I opted for an additional 15 minute facial with an organic honey mask and scalp massage, which was A M A Z I N G and tasty! I feel so rejuvenated and my skin is ultra soft. I find her prices to be reasonable for the quality service I received. The lady has skills, particularly her massage technique. In general, I prefer small boutique and/or self employed aestheticians because they seem to take more pride in their work and are more concerned about pleasing their client. I was very very skeptical about getting my first lash lift. I was worried I would have some sort of allergic reaction, that my lashes wouldn't actually look longer and that it would be a waste of money. I was getting overwhelmed and antsy from all the research I did between a lash lift or getting lash extensions. In the end I went with a lash lift because I didn't want to worry about any maintenance that would come with lash extensions. I was also going on a long vacation to Thailand and wanted to wear zero makeup due to the humid weather. Shiori is a very kind and sweet lady. She makes you feel extremely comfortable from the moment you step through the door. She's very gentle during the whole procedure and her voice is very calming while explaining every step. I ended up drifting to sleep because I was so comfortable. Next thing I knew I was done and it was time to go. At first I didn't think my lashes looked that different. Very curled, but not long. It looked like I went a bit overboard with a curler. After a couple days my lashes started to look more nature and actually longer. I want to be clear, your lashes don't look thicker, but they will look longer. Having asian lashes I had to be realistic with myself that this wasn't going to happen without some help from mascara. However, I was very please with how much longer and thicker they looked when I applied a bit of mascara. The lash lift lasted about 2 months for me, which is amazing!!! 1. It's low maintenance 2. It lasts a long time 3. I can still accidentally rub my eyes without feeling panic and guilt. This was one of the best decisions I ever made! The building looks like an apartment complex. You need to get buzzed in, which I think I must've overlooked when I booked because I had a hard time figuring out how to get in and what code to use. Shiori provides that information in your booking confirmation so take note! Her prices just recently went up this year to $60 but it's still a great deal and much cheaper than lash extensions. read more
