Food is average, but poor services wanna customer to leave even no other customer awaiting at all

I am in complete SHOCK!! To my core in complete disgust & I cannot believe Tesla recommended (not their fault). Ordered w fingers - 3 eggs, green chili, & avocado. They included what they had as menu item that included pork. After 2 regretful bites, I realize & call female over. She would NOT listen to my concern - left my table & pointed at older gentleman who took order. I waited patiently for 10 min !! drinking my coffee as I watch the couple ignore me. Then I call for the lady & owner (guy who took my order) brings menu process to yell & say that's the menu. Not once did he apologize. Not once did he offer to fix. He was NOT listening only yelling at me on how I ordered that meal on menu. And it's my fault. I explained I don't eat pork sir why would I put three fingers up saying only 3 items? Eggs, avocado & green chili 1. No apology. 2. No fixes. 3. Bill was $32 & I paid $35 & left. They were talking about me in their language - beyond rude! I am appalled. I wish restaurants had departments overseeing customer service because this place would win hands down! Tesla - pls I beg you to stop referring your dedicated die hard customers to this place since your customer service reputation is not reputable nor defined by cafe action. I have informed Tesla who will stop referring & thank god they are moving so as an indian Hindi - karma is in the air. I hope this cafe learns a lesson to be kind! I hope this cafe learns people in general are good people - I had no intention to rip off or eat free meal or not pay. I ate under 25%. Paid 100% plus tip. Because I dont play revenge games. Please take this advice & soften your approach instead of judging & assuming. Maybe if I had walked in with my scrubs or fancier clothes, I would have been treated with kindness? Or was it my skin or my race? I have NO idea. All I ask is be a kind human to others esp your customers. I'm disappointed to my core that our world must deal with such disrespect & I hope no one else endures the screaming & shouting as a paid customer! See picture - i zoomed out to share whorl view wish had down video & recorded their anger with me. i I barely took 2 bites & saw all the bacon coming out from rooftop of inside of egg. I wanted to throw up after realizing bacon. Btw I had hot sauce added so that didn't help not seeing the red bits but to my point - absolutely NEVER RETURNING! If you believe in humanity & kindness, spend your hard earned money elsewhere. I would have double had they simply said anything, something to take accountability as business persons. Never knew this place existed here in a predominantly office, warehouses, business row of valley blvd, but the owner said 10yrs here now. Glad we tried, just the organic coffee , tea and sesame smoothie!! available here will have us going back and the owner was pretty nice too. We all had mostly breakfast from the menu and it was good hash browns and pancakes. Enjoyed the waffle as well as the breakfast burrito. My albacore sandwich had a great butter lettuce instead of just a plain regular lettuce. Would love to try other things in their menu for sure as this place is neatly tucked in its own corner with a great ambiance among all the warehouses surrounding it. Place is owned locally by Asian couple so it's good to know smoothies with boba are available in their menu. That's a hit for any school aged kids for sure while the adults can enjoy organic pour over coffee and loose leaves tea!! read more

Visited this little gem after a morning hike and was pleasantly surprised when we arrived. There is plenty of seating and can accommodate large parties. I ordered the plain waffle with an iced coffee and the waffle was delicious! The staff were incredibly nice and attentive. I will definitely go again! read more

The corn chowder was good, not as good as Campbell's corn chowder. The grilled cheese sandwich was great. My friend liked the waffles and sausage. The price was reasonable. The servicer was very kind and attentive. The ambiance was very inviting. read more

Cute little spot tucked away in an industrial business area. It's in the back corner. Not a lot of parking. Doesn't really seem like a good spot for it. I feel it would do better in a busier spot. When you walk in the inside doesn't meet the outside. Very cute, clean spot. I ordered a chicken sandwhich and my friend orders the sugar rush French toast. She loved it cuz there's was nothing left on her plate lol. My food was a good portion. I took my other half of sandwhich to work. It was a little bland, but I added a little ranch to it. Service was good. Food came out pretty fast. Wasn't busy. Only two other tables there. Came about 10am though. It was an odd hour so I wasn't surprised. It was nice to try. I went to this restaurant for lunch. The coffee was supposedly freshly brewed; however, it was very bland and sour. I asked for another one, and the inscrutable-faced waitress brought me a replacement and asked if it was okay. I politely said it was, even though it tasted the same. Just finished having lunch at this awesome restaurant. I have no idea how this place wasn't jam packed when we were there. Although the prices have gone up they are still very competitive compared to what's out there. Especially when you consider the quality of the food and service. Every single staff member was so nice to my wife and I. I normally don't leave reviews but I really want this place to strive and be around for a long time. Please go here. I have to commend this restaurant as they are doing all they can to make a living during these times, and yet the quality is still the best. The steak and eggs is exquisite! We've driven by this little gem for over a year and finally stopped. The service was excellent, very friendly and gracious. The food was wonderful. We had the cinnamon raisiny French toast with candied bananas, scrambled eggs and ham, hash browns and toast. Everything tasted great. I had the french coconut waffle with bananas and almonds combo and it was a huge portion with probably the best waffle I've ever had! bacon was thick-cut and scrambled eggs were perfect consistency savory foods were light in flavor so I added salt, pepper, and tapatio to taste my boyfriend ordered the 3 chili's omelette which was also very good and it came with hashbrowns and toast. the toast was great and the hashbrowns were cooked to the perfect consistency of crunchiness. they were also light in flavor so add salt, etc. to taste overall I cant wait to come back here!! read more

In a business shipping and storage area. So the location might seem off. Service. They look like a family who is running the restaurant. The older lady kind of forced you to order, but indirectly. The older gentleman is way nicer and he brings out all the food anyways. It's pricey, and decent food. The portions are decent but you can also get the same amount of food in other locations for nearly the same price or a tad cheaper. It is one of the better stores out here in walnut for breakfast though. Small but nearly never have to wait. I've been here plenty of times but I don't think I ever seen a wait. Can you study in the cafe. Not really. It's a bit loud and the older lady wants you to leave but subtlety pushes you out as she gives the bill halfway through your meal and keeps asking if you need anything else. read more

We found this local restaurant after we moved in the area. We love all their breakfast items here and it never disappoint. We really enjoy their omelet and toast. The way they serve their coffee is pretty unique too. The waitress and waiters are very nice but there were language barrier for those who did not speak Chinese, but they recently hire someone who can speak English fluently. read more

I used to drive by this little cafe located in a business center when I used to work in Pomona. I finally decided to give it a try last Saturday. The place is small only 10 tables but you don't feel cramped. Probably one of the best pancake breakfast I have had in a long time. The service was great very attentive. This could be a good regular spot for breakfast and coffee at a reasonable price; but it's not. The Sugar Rush Cafe is located in an industrial complex on the border of Pomona and Walnut. It seemed like it would be a standard breakfast/coffee re-charge your batteries from the night before place, but the average food and coffee was way overpriced. The coffee is $3.50 per cup and not refillable. The built up coffee descriptions are lengthly and describe a potential exotic experience. When asked if they had regular refillable coffee, the answer was no. Thus, I ordered the El Diablo dark roast, and it tasted like regular coffee to me. We ordered the breakfast wrap with hash browns and a roast beef sandwich with mushroom soup. The breakfast wrap came with eggs, bacon, and ham, and was $10.25. The price of the breakfast wrap could not be justified. The roast beef sandwich was small, very good, but including the $1.50 up charge to have it served hot, the cost was $10.25. The Sugar Rush Cafe serves basic breakfast and lunch items at a premium. At their prices, I would just stay home and make my own breakfast wrap. read more

Wow! OK, I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt because I came in at lunchtime. But after being handed the menu and left at my table for over 12 minutes (yes, I timed it) I started to make eye contact with the older female owner. She opened her eyes brightly and smiled and nodded her head up and down as if to say are you ready? And I smiled back at her and slowly knotted yes enthusiastically. Sometime goes by..she comes to the table right next to me, collects their dishes, ask them how their food was And leaves. That table leaves the restaurant. she comes BACK a second time to wipe down the table, still not acknowledging me or making eye contact.?? Then the elderly man comes over and he says yes yes yes how can I help you! and I said wow I had to wait a long time :( he then very angrily tells me "Well lot of people, you're the last person to come in! " what the hell does that matter? Somebody could have at least taken my drink order... I could've been sipping on a drink while I waited for someone to take my order? I wasn't even given a place setting or a cup of water! Yeah... Yelp you guys hit this one on the headl! Lol service sucks mediocre looking food anyway, definitely won't be going out of my way to try this dump. read more

My boyfriend and I came in about an hour before close today. We ordered two smoothies and two meals, nothing crazy. After we got our food and my smoothie, another couple came in just asking for coffee. They talked to the (I'm guessing here) owner and sat down after giving their order. Meanwhile, my boyfriend and I are still waiting for his drink. The employee started making drinks again, and I thought they were working on it. Noooooooope. To our surprise, he made two smoothies for the couple that came in, delivered them, and paid before my boyfriend's drink was even started. I'd understand if the restaurant were busy, but we were the only two pairs inside...my boyfriend is black, by the way. I won't assume race is the issue, but the other couple was of the same ethnicity as the owner and spoke the same language, so it seems pretty likely. All in all, the food is great, but the atmosphere is a bit racist. Come here if you'd like. We probably won't be here again. read more

In the past month or so, we have eaten breakfast here three times. We've had a mix of pancakes, bacon, hashbrowns, eggs (over easy), and toast. We usually get a mix of the Two egg breakfast $10.50 and stack of pancakes (3) $7.00 or the pancake sandwich $10.50 and a side order of hashbrowns $3.50. The food has been excellent and consistent all three times we have eaten at Sugar Rush. There hasn't been much of a wait the times we have gone cause we usually go around 11:30am or 12 noon. The restaurant isn't big and seats around 40 people (my guess). The service is friendly and attentive. It's a mom and pop restaurant and located in an industrial part of Walnut. You may think you're getting lost, but you'll eventually run into the restaurant on Valley Blvd. The interior is homey and nothing special. Xie Xie! read more

Located in an industrial park on Valley, this place is hard to spot unless you are traveling east on Valley Blvd. I came here just because I was craving breakfast in the middle of the day, and didn't feel like going to a chain restaurant. This place touts a pretty standard breakfast menu, so I opted for french toast. I can't say that this was the best breakfast that I've ever had, but it sated a craving that I had. Very rude servers and manager as well, I was going to ask one of the servers a question and they were completely rude and laughed about and said I have to wait 10 minutes before I can ask a question, what kind of service is this? I can't say enough about how much I LOVE this cafe!!! It's a family, breakfast favorite. And the pour over coffee is out of this world. I always get the Librarian. Ray's Favorite is mine as well! The scrambled eggs are THE BEST I've EVER had. The chef is a master. Sausage is savory and scrumptious. The pancakes are so good you don't need syrup or butter. But, of course, I use both! I've had lunch here a few times and it's also AMAZING!! The BLT and Club are faves! And if you're looking for a smoothie, their's are the BEST in town! The Cookies and Cream is a favorite.
