Customer service was poor and food was nothing special for the price. Steak and eggs was not actual steak. (Hash browns are served under the "steak"). Waitress said no to any substitutions. I did not want hash browns so I asked for fruit instead and she literally said "no my boss won't do it". So I said ok can I get the hash browns on the side not with my steak? & she again said "no that the hash browns had to be underneath the steak for flavor". Good, but could've been better. I got the 3 egg omelette with a side of fruit ($2 more) & 2 slices of wheat toast. The omelette was huge but was pretty bland tasting. Also, it was probably the most oily omelette I've ever had at a brunch place and you can see it before even eating it. The oil was oozing out as I was eating and it was kinda gross... haha the fruit was good though! The toast was perfectly toasted. I like my bread very toasty and dark brown. They spread the insides of the toasts with melted butter and it comes with 2 small jellies (grape and strawberry). I paid $13 for this and I don't think it was worth it. Alrighty, so this place can be easily missed when driving by. But that's besides the point. It's a cute little place, I believe it's family run. They serve breakfast, salads, burgers, teas, coffees, and soups. The food is deliciously made. The eggs are fluffy as can be, the hash browns are a golden brown and not a pile of potatoes, and the H20 is top notch. There are a few things I don't like about this place. The restrooms are quite open, right next to where you eat. The food can get a bit oily (mine was). Also, it's a little bit pricey in my opinion. Affordable, but I've seen lower prices. read more

First time here, probably during the worst storm in awhile. Anyway, the staff is wonderfully nice and friendly. Service was good even though the place was busy. The menu is small and easy to look through. Nothing like with 75 items and takes you 10 minutes just to decide what you want to try. Best part about the place, breakfast all day. I love breakfast. Tried the Eric's breakfast, pancakes and tuna melt with homemade potato chips. Eric's breakfast was nice, the extra crispy hash browns had a pleasant crunch to it while the inside layer was still warm and firm (not mushy like other places). Eggs, were supposed to be over-hard but that's no big deal because I don't mind if it was a little runny. The sausage is very good because it's a generous size not a small little link or patty that other places overcharge you for. A friend ordered bacon but got sausage instead and the great staff apologized for the mix up and brought out bacon to him so he got sausage and bacon, no charge. Great people (can't emphasize that enough). Pancakes, comes with 3 and although good, I felt that it should have come with sausage or eggs or something. The plate looks so empty. You could add ... some type of banana thing for $1 but didn't try that. The pancakes themselves are dense and have a good light taste to it. Other places have pancakes which make you feel like you're eating cardboard or it has too much air. Sugar Rush makes it very nice. Has a very homemade, fresh appeal. I dig it. Tuna melt: from this plate we mostly just tried the potato chips. The chips are dark and look really crunchy but they're actually well balanced. Had a nice potato taste while being mildly salted and soft ish crispy texture. I'm going to assume they fry it at a lower temperature so the chips don't get too hard and to retain that potato texture and taste. Either way great food. Looking forward to going back to try other things on the menu. Oh yeah, last thing to note, I totally passed this place by because it's in this small commercial plaza. Okay. So I might be biased a bit since I have gotten free-bees from this place, ranging from soup to bread, and half price for a latte, but I can't say enough. I come here once or twice a month, and every time I get their Chocolate Mocha :3 It's delicious!! I usually get a salad/soup/fruit and sandwich combo. Their ingredients are always super fresh. OH, and I LOVE their french fries, they must be fried twice!! I am not a big fan of breakfast or pancakes. In all honestly, I've never tasted their candied banana pancakes or any of their breakfast items. I always stick with their salads(Cobb salad), sandwiches, SOUPS (they are all homemade, and the best one has ground beef!!). Earnestly, I really love their service, their warm food, and the fact that we actually have a coffee shop five minutes away from the Cal Poly Pomona campus. This is such a cute place! I've passed by it many times and always wondered what they sold. Checked yelp and was inspired to give it a try. They're parking is a little weird, the place is in a business center and it seems like some of the parking is in front of rollup doors that are NOT for parking. But anyway, not a deal breaker. You walk in and are seated to cozy tables. The atmosphere is very relaxing, they were playing Frank Sinatra and that's always a plus in my book. Their prices are VERY reasonable! Especially for what you get! Everything is made fresh, and portions are perfect! I got full with my breakfast. They also specialize in drinks, which I'll have to try next time. Their staff is very friendly and attentive. We went around 9am and it was slow so we got treated like royalty! So I'm not sure how they would do during busy hours! Ehhhh. I had high expectations for this place since so many people said it is delicious. This location is definitely a "hole in the wall." If you don't look closely enough , you could miss it. When we came, there was a short 5 minutes wait. The inside felt very homey and the ambiance was very welcoming. We sat down and waited a good 7 minutes for someone to hand us a menu. Finally, I believe it was the owner who came by and dropped off our menu. We contemplated for awhile on what we were getting since it was our first time. After reading reviews, we decided to try the sugar rush cinnamon raisin toast with their syrup. According to yelp, everyone loved it so why not? I decided to ask for the syrup on the side becauae I don't like my toast soggy. I'm glad I did becauae I did not enjoy the syrup as much as I wish I did. Sugar Rush is a tiny Mom & Pop corner shop in a commercial park, tucked near an auto-body shop and car repair. You're most likely going to drive right past it without seeing it, so as you drive into the park from the street, crane your neck to the left and you'll see it there =p Sunday morning it was packed but we didn't have to wait-- we came at a great time! Our young server sat us quickly but it was several minutes before we saw menus. We ordered coffee drinks and that took a while.. and our drinks were not brought out together. ONE cup of one of their select coffees roasts runs $3.75-- steep for a steep!! There are 5 selections of coffee roasts: Anjilanaka Organic Blend, Tres Santos Colombia, Decaf Librarians Blend, Intelligensia House Blend & Nathan's Home Roasting Gourmet. Each cup is made to order.... But really, I'd rather you ditch the options and serve a hot cup fast.. At least it was good coffee! (Better than Dripp's weak serve). In less time it took to receive our menus or our drinks, our food was served! It wasn't trying to be anything more than a tasty meal. The Breakfast Wrap was good and hearty with eggs, onions, cheese and served alongside a HUGE brick of hashbrowns. Those hashbrowns were good, but could be divided in half and served with a small salad and there would be more balance. The raisin-bread french toast was delicious! Wonderful! Is it possible that they make THE BEST scrambled eggs ever? They're just so soft and yummy tasting--not ever overcooked or undercooked--perfection! Okay, got carried away with that. I know I need to order something else, but I really love their hash browns, scrambled eggs, and toast. Well, the sourdough toast doesn't really taste really sourdough-y, but it's still good. Oh, I thought the coffee is wonderful. I asked the owner what does he use in the mochas, and he showed me the chocolate/coco powder that they use--oh, it has a distinct flavor--I don't think I've had mochas taste like that before. So damn good! Oh, not to mention he does the latte art thing--cool. Service is always good. The staff is always attentive. The owner (I think he's the owner) is very friendly and was nice enough to show me the coco powder that he uses in his mochas. He always refills my water and provides condiments (that's ketchup and stuff--duh). No, I don't think it's the same as IHOP (although I like IHOP) and Denny's (I eat there too sometimes). Denny's has really crappy, crispy "hash browns" that looked like it was some reject dehydrated food kit from the space program, and Denny's bacon is like some sort of hybrid plastic meat--so thin that you could practically see through it. Yeah, I love this place. It's in a industrial area, so you wouldn't even know that it's there. This is definitely a gem--not a cheap place, but still worth eating there. This place is completely out in the middle of no where and on top of that, its almost hidden!! We decided to check it out on a hungry Sunday morning. Walking into this warm and cozy place I noticed that the waiters were all young and seemed like college kids. They were super friendly and welcoming and gave us all the time we needed to order our food. I ordered the chicken spinach melt. The chicken was not dry and the tomatoes, cheese and the bread fell in a perfect combination together to create my meal. Wilson ordered the candied banana pancakes. They were good but thats it. I've been to this place multiple times, and each time, I have been satisfied! I've tried a lot on their menu, but what stands out the most is their Chicken Spinach Melt. The sandwich comes with fries or chips, and really does taste delicious. The chicken and spinach are topped off by the cheese that melts in your mouth. It's extremely tasty! I used to always always get the spinach chicken sandwhich though. I'd give that one a 3.5 stars, but the rest of the food choices don't exactly stand out (good or bad) for me. Service: 2.5 stars The service used to be much much better I think. I understand that it gets busy there, however, my waitress (middle school/high school girl) was unattentive and almost unfriendly. I'm so sad that the rating went down for this place. It's been my to-go breakfast place since my first year of college. Five years later, I'm back for some omelettes. It's a very small restaurant in a complex full of industrial businesses. You can't miss it. It's the only place that actually looks fun. It's beautifully decorated with art done by the locals and can be purchased if you ask. I usually get the Belgian hot chocolate that's a rich blend of four types of chocolate and wonderfully decorated with foam. However, I needed caffeine. I'm always nervous about getting coffee at places outside of Starbucks because of how weak the blend is but their Diablo is the perfect cup of black coffee. For breakfast, I had the three egg omelette with spinach, cheddar and sausage. Let me just stop and recommend the extra sausage links - the outside is kind of crunchy and the inside is soft and juicy with tons of flavor. Anyways, back to the omelette - it was great but it would've been better if they didn't hide the spinach right in the middle. It felt like I ate two of the three eggs before I got to the spinach portion. It comes with a side of hash browns and toast which was a surplus of food for me. I salute whoever can finish all of that without having to be rolled out of the restaurant! Haha The service was okay. You can see them trying so you can't be mean about it. Nice spot to go to for some coffee :-) and free wifi... The food here is a bit minimalistic but what they offer is very tasty. They serve breakfast all day, salads and sandwiches. We wanted some brunch that wasn't too far of a drive and this sounded like it was worth a try. She had the tuna melt which was ok... only time you talk about your tuna melt is usually when it's like the best you've ever had or it's screwed up. The fries that accompanied it were really good though, crispy on the outside but light and wispy on the inside. I had the Cobb salad and it was ok... the ingredients were fresh and well proportioned, the lettuce was crisp. Yay!... Good thing we found a place that has decaf coffee without going to a Denny's... I don't know why some Asian places that I've been to lately like 85C and JJ's Bakery don't have decaf or why we've had so much trouble finding it. Their method of using filtered coffee (Chemex carafe) was kind of neat and you could taste the difference in quality. I ordered a Mocca and I could tell that the barista has a bit of an art sense as there was a design in the whip... pretty sweet tasting compared to her black decaf. The service was friendly and attentive... our waitress was even the one who recommended the fries. The owner mentioned that they are planning to bring in some pastries soon. This wasn't what I had pictured in my mind while reading the reviews. Sugar Rush is located in a rather random industrial area. I expected a wait for brunch on Sunday but there was none. Instead, they were ready to seat our party of 6 relatively fast (two tables were joined together). The server was ok. I opted for a cup of Decaf La Tortuga, Honduras (because the description sounded so good). Honestly, I didn't taste any of the orange sherbet or tootsie roll candy or the tangy citrus/tamarind...it just tasted bland to me. They mixed the orders up and gave me sausage in my omelet and my friend got my ham. We didn't bother to complain. This was a convenient place to meet my friends since they lived in Pomona. I don't think I was overly impressed with anything and I can't say that I would ever come back. The place is pretty small and on the day I went there, my group was the only people in the place. The menu selection isn't the biggest, but their food is pretty good. I decided on the BBQ Rush Burger. It had grilled onions, sauteed mushrooms, lettuce, tomatoes, bbq mayo, a juicy beef patty, and all on an artisan bun. All burgers come with a side of fries or yukon gold potato chips. The portion was enormous. I needed to use a knife and a fork and a good 40 minutes to finish my burger! When I left, I was one happy camper. Their breakfast is always a good choice. I LOVE ALL DAY BREAKFAST! Also, their house brewed black tea is delicious and incredibly refreshing!
