My son and I stopped by Sugar Llamas this weekend to get a lil treat while out and about. I'm so glad we did! This shop is so cute inside and out. We were greeted with a warm mini donut sample! The staff was so kind and nice. They explained how we can order different flavors of donuts and how it all works. I love that they have ice cream and fancy drinks too so there is something for everyone. We got a 16 pack of mini donuts with four flavors and really enjoyed them! We will definitely be back to try other items.

The cutest spot! The llama is the best idea ever and I honestly came here just for that haha. Turns out they have pretty good donuts too! They're basically donut holes with different flavors. You can mix and match. It's a great deal! And they are really good. The donuts themselves are a little crunchy, which is perfect. And they are not dry at all, which can happen with donut holes. Also everyone working there was super nice!

New donut coffee and ice cream shop was so fun. Great quick service. The atmosphere is instagram worthy. Check it out!

The whole family enjoyed theses sweet treats. Great service and very friendly. 10/10!

    A sampling of the icecream.

Yes, $9. That's on the expensive side for a latte, so I went in with pretty high expectations. Everything about the experience was quick and efficient. The line moved fast, my drink came out quickly, and I was in and out with no issues. The shop itself seemed like a great place to sit down and get some work done or catch up with a friend. Since it was such a nice day, I decided to sit outside. My first sip immediately stood out because of the texture. It was probably the smoothest coffee I've ever had; silky, creamy, and almost pillowy on the tongue. Unfortunately, that's where most of my praise ends. The coffee itself tasted fine, but nothing about the flavor stood out, especially considering the price. I ordered a vanilla latte, but I couldn't taste any vanilla at all and got virtually no sweetness from the drink. Overall, it's not bad coffee by any means, and the texture was genuinely impressive. But for nearly $9, I expected a lot more flavor. I don't regret trying it, but I wouldn't come back at that price point.

It's shaded because it's on the backside. I ended up getting an iced Blue Moon Latte, Full Moon sweetness and hot moon matcha to go. Both with oat milk. Their signature sweet cream and oak coffee was good. Since I asked for light ice, it was definitely more milk so the flavor was light, just a hint. My mom liked her matcha just fine.

It's smooth every time, not bitter or watery, and the baristas always use the perfect amount of syrup. I love the housemade bourbon vanilla. Service is great, and the ambience is quiet and cozy. They have good coffee there. I believe they may make their syrups. They do not have any sugar-free syrups. I used to love their brown sugar latte, but they did not have that syrup this time so I just got vanilla and it was good. This is a quiet coffee shop that is good for reading or working on a laptop. Their prices are in the range of most coffee shops. They have a variety of seating from seating against the wall with a table in front and chairs on the opposite side. They have quite a few high tops with stools, but no backs on them. Then there are a few high tops that do have backs. They also have a large couch, which is what we sat at. They have an outdoor couch by the front door that people can use. I'm not sure if they share the patio seating with Jason's deli next-door. The only suggestion I have is that the floor needs to be swept more often because each time I've been in there's quite a few crumbs. Also, the couch probably needed to be vacuumed and the cushion straightened.

It often takes me a while to get to a new place, and this one had been on my list for a while. Opportunity arose when I needed a coffee shop to meet a friend at in this area and I was determined to not have it be a chain. To be honest, I was a bit nervous as I've had hit and miss luck with coffee shops outside of KCMO in terms of quality. I'm from Johnson County and currently live in JOCO, so I hate to admit that, but I think that things are really changing and for the first time since the Latte Land on State Line closed, there are now officially more than a small handful of great coffee shops on the Kansas side of the state line and this is one of them. First of all, the ambiance is inviting and calm. I did some work while I waited for my friend and it was the perfect spot for it. Since it's pretty close to home, and super close to daycare, I'm adding this to my list of places to go get some work done when I need out of the house. Also, I had an almond croissant which was excellent, and my coffee was really well made too. On top of it all the baristas were exceptionally friendly. All in all a huge win for this part of JOCO.

I had never seen that before and I really appreciated it. Their menu has upgraded since the last time I came, it's now on two large TV screens that help you read before it's your turn at the counter. They also have a sandwich board with seasonal drinks for those that are looking for something sweeter or with different flavors. I had the Banana Cabana which was my first banana coffee drink ever during this time where they seem to be popping up everywhere. My immediate reaction was that the banana flavoring is not for me. It was still drinkable though, with the perfect amount of sweetness. I don't fault them at all, it was an experimental choice on my part. Next time I will just stick with adding my own flavors to an iced latte. Plenty of seating and despite being crowded, there was a relatively low noise level. They also have plenty of pastry and food options. By the time I left I realized I forgot to order a chorizo breakfast burrito, so I will have to try that next time.

Their other location has colorful seating, artwork, with tables & chairs woven into a forest-like wonderland of plants. This one? A table. A gray backdrop. Sure there are plants, but they're a ways away and it felt more like hanging out in a midwestern garage. The other issue that has me knocking it down some stars is that this has become THE place to get warm. Sure we have our furnaces blasting in January, or a fireplace roaring, but you know that kind of late spring, humid warm? This is usually it, but I have to say I was borderline cold on my last visit. It felt clammy and more "March spring" than "May spring." Coffee is EXCELLENT from Thou Mayest, and it's hard to go wrong. Wifi was not all that strong and ran into a few issues on a video call, but is relatively sufficient for most day-to-day work items if you choose to work from here. If it's equidistant, I would say go to the Shawnee location for sure. If this is the closest one, it's not all bad, but I would love to see some real warmth and color in here to help complete the escape-winter-energy that we all need during this cold, gray stretch.

If you're queer like me, you'll likely be drinking a cold black coffee and they have options! They have a regular cold brew in 3 sizes, a cold brew of the moment / seasonal (ask about it!) and a cold brew shandy for something different. My partner and I got two different cold brews on tap today, the original and the Seasonal Single Origin Honduran one. The single origin Honduran was better, but their original was good too.
