It's difficult to rate Duck Donuts because my rating completely depends on how quickly you eat the donut after it's made. If you're able to eat it right after coming off the conveyer after watching the donut decorated in front of you, then they are fantastic. However, the clock starts on the donuts once it's handed over. The longer you wait, the less enjoyable the pastry becomes. And if you purchase a dozen, the donuts that sit around for several hours before being eaten aren't that great at all. The donuts are colorful and I love the idea of a donut breakfast sandwich, but make sure not to wait too long before eating your donuts for the best flavor. donuts were delicious. We were there on Sunday, August 3 around 11 AM. There were two teens working behind the counter. The young man was polite and helpful; the young woman was diffident. We ordered our donuts with a minimum amount of conversation. Then we watched as our donuts got made. As we took our box of donuts to go sit outside, we realized there were no napkins. I observed to the girl that there were no napkins and she acted like she was going somewhere, but never brought back napkins. Then I asked the young man if we could get some napkins and he looked around a bit and came out with a package of napkins. We sat outside to eat, but had to clean our own table. Then went inside to dump our garbage, but both garbage cans were overflowing. There was a minimum amount of traffic while we were there. A group leaving as we came in and two teens arriving as we were leaving. The donuts were very good, but the ambience and service were subpar.

What an intriguing business name and concept. We just had to try it out. In the past several years I have found myself avoiding donuts because they are usually too sweet & hurt my teeth or are too heavy feeling in my stomach and of course, wreck the healthy diet. That being said, I was weak and ate all of my donut instead of sharing with my husband as he suggested. Donut style: Cake ... Do not let anyone detour you with the 'they only serve cake donuts'. These are NOT your usual cake donuts. By the way, I think if you ordered one without frosting I think you would find the cake donut 'as light as air'. But I digress.. You customize your cake donut with your choice of frosting, topping & drizzle. Plenty of unique options. I told the Ryan (one if the owners) that I wish this place was on my way to work as I am very interested in trying the breakfast sandwiches and coffee drinks. He said to definitely come back and have one. His father-in-law comes most morning because they are just that good. Hmm ... might have to go soon on a non-work day!

What a cute concept! Stopped in not knowing what I was walking into - and was absolutely blown away but the amount of donuts on the menu to choose so they are freshly made. I got the pumpkin spice and cinnamon swirl donut and both were made in a matter of minutes.

It was different! I am pretty basic when it comes to sweets - so I just tried this off of a recommendation. I ordered a glazed donut and added bacon...I also ordered another donut that had cinnamon and powdered sugar ( I think). To be honest I partially ate the glazed/bacon. Not that the taste was off, just that it was DIFFERENT! Sometimes different can be good. So I recommend at least trying the place out. I'm sure that the little ones will get a kick out of all the cute donut options

Terrible. Donuts are generic grease sponges dipped into liquid toppings like iced cream cones. Messy and gross mm

I've always been a big fan of LaMars but the pricing there has kind of gone through the roof, and I'd rather spend my money locally than drive thru Krispy Kreme so my kids and I found ourselves here around 9am on a Saturday. I was a bit worried it would be busy as many donut spots are around 9am on a weekend, but it was fairly empty except for a few cyclists that had ended their am ride here. The kids and I decided to get a mixed dozen of "small" donuts which the gal working said was essentially anything with a hole. The price with a small tip was around $20 which I think is reasonable, at LaMars I think a dozen can easily put you back closer to $50 which is absolute lunacy. When I arrived at my friend's house she said this place is her husband's new favorite donut spot and I could see why. I ate a chocolate sprinkle cake donut my daughter took one bite out of and it was fresh, tasty, honestly just as good as LaMars. I'm not ready to go all in on a five star review, but I'll be back! Definitely above average and reasonably priced. If you're in the area give them a try!

I genuinely love LaMar's and would order often -- but pricing on Uber Eats and DoorDash has…read morecompletely stopped me. I understand businesses need to make a profit, especially on delivery apps. That said, seeing a single donut approach $8 is simply out of touch. If owners wouldn't pay that themselves for one cinnamon twist, it's hard to understand expecting customers to do so. Donuts are psychologically a low-stakes treat. Once they cross about $5, the brain rebels. At $8, the brain stages a coup. When a donut costs as much as a rotisserie chicken, a gallon of gas, or a Chipotle burrito, it has lost the plot. At that point, either something is broken -- or we've been teleported back to Weimar-era Berlin. This pricing doesn't just feel unreasonable -- it actively destroys repeat demand. What should be a casual, joyful purchase turns into a "nope, never mind" moment. From a consumer's perspective, this may be legal, but it is certainly not reasonable, and to anyone with a memory of 2019 it feels indistinguishable from price gouging. For context, a "Manager's Specialty" priced at over $70 is comparable to the cost of a full dinner at a high-end sit-down restaurant. Seeing single donuts listed near $8, or basic cake and cruller donuts priced around $6 each, fundamentally breaks the value expectation customers have for this product category. At those prices, delivery stops being a convenience and becomes a deterrent. The result is simple: customers who would otherwise order frequently online choose not to order at all. It's also worth acknowledging that some businesses intentionally price delivery very high as a way to discourage orders without fully turning delivery off -- a kind of "soft disabling." Staying on platforms like Uber Eats preserves visibility and prevents customers from assuming the business is closed, while extreme pricing quietly pushes most people back to in-store purchasing. For bakeries and donut shops, this is understandable. Donuts don't travel well, glaze melts, presentation matters, inventory is finite and sells out unpredictably, and single-item delivery orders often become unprofitable once platform commissions, packaging, staff time, substitutions, and refunds are factored in. From an operator's perspective, the thinking may simply be: "If someone orders anyway, at least it's worth the headache." The problem is that this strategy backfires when it isn't clearly structured or explained. Customers don't experience it as operational triage -- they experience it as pricing that feels absurd and disconnected from in-store value, which damages trust in the brand. There are far better ways to handle this that many well-run bakeries already use: minimum order thresholds; delivery-only bundles or assortments that are pre-set with accurate descriptions of what those sets include; limited delivery windows when inventory is predictable; and clear disclosure that delivery pricing reflects platform fees. Extreme markups with no context don't just discourage delivery -- they quietly drive away loyal customers who genuinely want to support the business. If delivery is painful, it's better to design it intelligently or opt out cleanly than leave it on in a way that makes customers feel dismissed. This channel doesn't have to be all-or-nothing. There is a version of it that works. I love the product and want to order regularly. Delivery pricing alone prevents that -- and it reflects poorly on the brand, not just the app. I hope leadership takes a close look at how third-party pricing is being handled, because this is the kind of issue that quietly, and loudly, drives loyal customers away.
