And if you're lucky enough to have someone in your neighborhood that gets up with the moon and makes the donuts while the world is sleeping, then count your lucky stars. Daylight in Lenexa is a great small biz focused on delivering a great donut and a super array of drinks. Whether you go cake or raised, iced or filled, there is likely something for anyone. Try a chocolate cake with a stout cuppa and take a comfy seat on one of the sofas inside, or, if weather allows, sit outside and watch the Sar-Ko traffic whizz by. It's not the most serene location, but hey, grab a couple to go and walk a hundred yards to the east and you can indulge by the park pond. And as for you pickleballers, just know that Bois d'Arc is right next door and that is some of the best outdoor pickleball space in western JoCo. Just don't steal Daylight's parking spaces even if you're planning on shoving half a dozen donuts in your face after a game. The parking is for *donut* lovers, not for orthopedic cases waiting to happen. Daylight doesn't take up much space, so enjoy the friendly service and amazing donuts when you can. read more

Place was cleans and bright. Service was fine. But one chocolate long john cost $2.83! And, it was nota good long john. It was dry and didn't have much flavor. I've had much better donuts from grocery stores. Very disappointing. read more

This business feels very LGBTQ+ friendly and safe and I really appreciate how good my mornings are started off by the people at this location. The coffee really is better than a lot of the places I've had at trendy spots in the area (for my taste) and I also really enjoy their sausage rolls. Donuts tasted good! Oil that Daylight Donuts uses tastes good, fresh (have gotten Krispy Kreme on occasion and you can tell when they fry donuts in old oil because you can taste it! Yuck!) On one visit to DD went in late morning and saw that there were only 2 trays of donuts left and thought I may be leaving empty handed but somehow they still had good variety left, enough for 1/2 dozen and cinnamon roll! read more

Place is out of the way but make time visit with the kids. Some of the better donuts in town. Today was disappointing. Both staff members were outside the front door smoking. How rude and disgusting. Had to walk past them both to get in the store. Once they got behind the counter, they couldn't stop talking about some personal issues. Ruined our families experience. read more

I really want to like this doughnut shop but how do you always run out of chocolate old fashioned doughnuts? They apparently don't make any of the doughnuts in house and get them from some central bakery. My wife's favorite doughnut is a chocolate old fashioned so because they run out I planned ahead and called an order in so they could hold the doughnuts for me. The person was kind enough to do so and I tell him I will be there in 30 minutes to pick them up. When I arrived at the store on Lackman in Lenexa there is a sign on the door stating that he was out on a delivery. There was a woman sitting out front saying she had been there for 15 minutes the store was closed. I waited for 15 minutes and still no one returned. To me this is completely poor management. For one why wouldn't the employee tell me he had to go on a delivery when I was on the phone with him and second apparently they can't manage their inventory. If you are always running out of certain doughnuts you would think they would stock more of the popular doughnuts and stop making so many unpopular flavors. Skip this place. I wanted to give it a second chance hoping it would be better, it didn't look good! They barely had anything and what they did have didn't look good! Our donuts tasted like day old -sold as fresh.

I live in Boston, MA and recently had to do an on-line order for a delivery of some lettering donuts. The address in KS that I needed them to go to was out of the delivery range. I called one of the shops and was quickly given the cell number of the general manager, Lori. To make a long story short, Lori told me to put the order through as a "pick up " and she assured me that she would personally make sure the donuts were delivered on the day/time I needed at no extra charge. WOW! Without question this was one of the best customer service experiences I've had in a long time!! I do a lot of this type of thing as part of my job and Lori's personal attention and willingness to do whatever necessary to make this happen is for me was so special and why I will be ordering from Daylight Donuts for sure in the future. My only complaint is that these donuts look A-MAZING and they don't have any storefronts in Massachusetts! Maybe someday....? read more

This place used be good but now they really suck. They got a lot more expensive while the quality went way down. Today I went in to try a raspberry jelly donut and wow, I'm super disappointed! There was only two drops of jelly, literally, and it was to cover the entry/exit hole to give the appearance of a jelly filled donut. Nothing in the middle except for some uncooked dough. Like are you kidding me?!?! I'm not paying $1.50 for this. I can just go down the street to Dunkin' Donuts to get at least the donut I paid for, not a glazed donut disguised as something it's not. This place used to be our fav. They have gone down hill. If you aren't there by 830, forget it. Nothing to get. They are good donuts but not that good. They simply just are not putting enough inventory on the shelves. They don't actually make them at this store but ship them in. Really wouldn't matter if they shipped enough. I tried this place a couple of times in past, it was good, but this last time I got assorted dozen mostly glazed and chocolate glaze couple of bear claws and a filled donut.. $18! I tried a cake donut, it was hard. All the donuts were hard as if they were made last week and frozen. Donuts should be fluffy, yummy, finger lickin good. This was not the case! The lady who rang me up was surprise I was a little upset about $18. She just shrug and said "sorry". Yes, sorry I won't be back. read more
