The tiny trailer…read morethat Morty has set up at 43rd and Stateline has barely enough room for a person, let alone a functioning kitchen, but it is pumping out some mighty tasty offerings. Morty not only welcomed me, but asked my name, what I did for a living, and how satisfied I was with my job within the first minute of meeting. A natural at conversation and customer service skills - my new best friend that I had never met. While he prepared my dogs, I asked him about the "ripper" sauce that is on the menu. Not only did I get a sample of his handmade recipe, but the origin story of how he discovered it while serving in the military in Germany. It was a sweet / tangy mustard and onion concoction that I will definitely order on my next trip if it's available on his rotating menu at that time. My Chicago Dog and Chili Cheese Dogs were perfection. The Chicago Dog had all the proper fresh ingredients with a Vienna Beef dog and a soft poppy seed bun. With one bite I was transported back to my frequent Chicago Dog lunches when living in Chicago almost 30 years ago. The Chili cheese dog was just as magical with a creamy warm cheese sauce between the soft bun and dog and then covered in a no-bean saucy meat chili...just as God intended. Morty's is only open 7 hours a week - 11:00am - 1:20pm W, TH & FR, so plan accordingly and go meet my new best friend and get a couple of life's simple all-American pleasures.

Couldn't ask for a better crew. The dog I got was delicious and was enough to make me want another... but I was just snacking! The only downside was the fact that they were out of quite a few things. Sadly, if something is one of your menu staples, running out is a bad look. The things I like most about Tay's include: the fries, sriracha ketchup, a fun car for kids meals, and of course the burger with all of the available toppings to choose from. I ordered a single with fries. My wife and I decided that we'll probably share next time. We might even get the slider with fries. My son loved the car his burger was served in. The ladies working were so friendly and worked quickly through the long line to get orders placed. We didn't have any issues finding a table to sit. They have plenty of high chairs and booster seats for kids too.

I tried the Single Cheeseburger with fries, I will say that I didn't find it very special. My least favorite part was the buns, they didn't seem like they were toasted at all. Just your typical old cheeseburger. The fries were not my favorite. It does make a cute date night and maybe late night snack.

Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and our food came out quickly. I ordered a turkey club while my dad got one as well, and unfortunately we both had the same issue. The turkey was on the dry side, and it was sliced much thicker than I personally prefer. I tend to like a thinner deli-style sliced turkey, so it just wasn't my favorite sandwich. My mom ordered one of the salads though, and honestly it looked better than my sandwich. It was loaded with fresh toppings, and she said the ranch was excellent. If I come back, I'd probably skip the sandwich altogether and give one of the salads a try. Overall, I can definitely appreciate what they're going for. The prices are fantastic, honestly unheard of in present day, and that's the main reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 3. It's a true local spot, and I wouldn't mind giving it another chance to try something different from the menu.

However, when we made the request, they were happy to come up with a custom "dog" with veggies, black beans and sriracha... it was so great. YUM! It was good and well balanced for a vegetarian. They were friendly, easy to work with and the food was DELISH! We love you Brock Hops!!! Having had pizza just a day or two ago I decided to scratch my itch for a Chicago dog. This one was pretty good. I am a purist for the Chicago dog, having lived in the area for a short time. This one is spot on. It's exactly everything that it should be; nothing more and nothing less. If there's a better Chicago dog in the KC Metro, I don't know about it. In my opinion, the Polish sausage with sauerkraut is not only the best deal on the menu, but it is absolutely perfect! They asked me if I wanted a spicy mustard on it and of course that is an automatic yes. The sausage itself was beefy and substantial, and the kraut was excellent and just the right amount. Plenty to taste, but not falling off. Having seen others, enjoying their pizza and Italian beef, I will absolutely return to try at least the beef. Buona in Chicago is my favorite so I look forward to seeing how this stacks up.
