We explained why we had chosen the restaurant, offered flexibility about seating and service, and asked for a manager. The answer remained a flat no. With appointments afterward, we stayed in a freezing dining room just feet from the outdoor seating we had requested. There appeared to be only about three other occupied tables, which made the inflexibility even more frustrating. I understand operational limitations. What disappointed me was how dismissive the response felt. We left feeling like accommodating our request was an inconvenience. The service staff were fine. The food was unremarkable. With sandwiches around $17 before adding tots and drinks, our lunch came to approximately $34 per person including a 20% tip, before tax. For the overall experience, that was poor value. Our office is a block away. This could have become a regular lunch destination, but I won't be returning. Customers do not owe a restaurant their business. It has to be earned. A prime Power & Light address doesn't make up for dismissive hospitality. BRGR, do better.

I made a birthday dinner reservation at The Town Company months in advance through Tock, provided my credit card as required, and received a confirmation text the day before the reservation. When my family arrived, they were told there was no reservation. I showed the manager my confirmation, and he explained that the restaurant had switched from Tock to OpenTable about two months earlier and that all existing reservations were supposed to have been transferred. Clearly, mine was not. What was most disappointing was not the reservation error itself, but how it was handled. The manager immediately told me they were fully booked and there was nothing he could do. When I asked how they planned to remedy an error that had clearly happened during their reservation-system transition, he instead suggested that I must not have put my card on file and said this had never happened before. There was no real attempt to problem-solve, no empathy, and no ownership of the situation. It was not until I became visibly upset that he offered the possibility of seating us later or having us eat at the bar. Good customer service could have saved the night. Mistakes happen, and I understand that reservation systems change. But the way a business responds when something goes wrong matters. Instead of making us feel taken care of, the manager completely fumbled the situation and made an already frustrating experience significantly worse. I had been to The Town Company before and was genuinely excited to celebrate my birthday there, which made the experience even more disappointing.
