I usually don't write reviews but after last nights experience I feel like I need to let everyone know. I went in with a few friends and were greeted immediately by the bouncer, we did not have to pay cover so far its starting off as a good night. Then we walked up to the bar and the bartender took care of us with our drinks and was very friendly. My friends went and sat down at one of the tables. I stayed and talked to the bartender (Brittany) for a bit and she made me feel very welcomed and recommended a few drinks. The dancers were all very friendly and gorgeous. After the second round of drinks Brittany had to go because her shift was over. :( I thought I was going to get the same kind of service from the new bartender (Tyler), but I was wrong. From when he got behind the bar he looked like he did not want to be there. My friend went to get some drinks and said that Tyler was rude to him. I figured its cuz he was a guy so I went and it took a few minutes for him to ask what I wanted. He was busy flirting with one of the dancers and ignored the bar. When he finally came over and took my order, he got it wrong, and the drinks were over poured. He needs to learn how to mix drinks and be friendly. I wonder how many customers he has driven away. I spent many months working in Phoenix, and of all the clubs I visited, this was my favorite by far. At 44th and Thomas, centrally located and easy to get to. Pricing info: $5 cover, $20 VIP access, $10 floor dances, $20 VIP dances. Drinks are typical...a beer is $5 or $6 bucks, I drink premium liquor and pay $9 a drink, but the pours are usually generous. Jeff and Ryan are really cool bartenders. It's a small club, with a very small stage. The staff is very friendly and the drinks are reasonably priced. Here is how I break down my four stars: 1 star for the fact that everybody is friendly. This includes the fact that MOST of the girls are not too pushy if you aren't ready for a dance. I did have one or two exceptions but for the most part they were very respectful if you just wanted to sit and relax. 1 star for the fact that the girls cover a wide spectrum...not a lot of silicon (for me that's a good thing), Not a lot of 10's but several 8's and, as a I said, something for everybody from the variety perspective. 1 star for the fact that I was able many nights to go in, enjoy myself with a dance or two and some drinks, and not walk out feeling like I got robbed. 1 star for two very special dancers. I won't give it away but if you get a dance in VIP and your dancer doesn't let you pretty much run amok, you are either not being a gentleman or you need a different dancer. I got a GREAT show from more than one. I couldn't go to five stars. The girls are not quite hot enough, and I hate the stupid bracelet they make you wear once you have VIP access. I walked into Sugar 44 New Year's Eve 2017 around midnight, expecting the place to be fairly lively seeing as how they have it advertised as their annual New Year's party on the marquee out front. Upon entering, I immediately noticed it was dead as I greeted the cashier, who waved me in, no cover. I walked up to the bar, ordered a Long Island for $10, and went to look for a seat by the tiny stage. This place is very small and definitely has a divey, hole in the wall feel to it. One side of the stage was completely open except for one other guy sitting there but all of the open seats had empty/half empty drinks sitting in front of them, and one even had a used thong laying on the seat. So I grabbed a different seat and pushed the empty drinks to the side. The talent was definitely sub par. In fact, during the thirty minutes I was there, I only saw three girls on the floor, none of which interested me, so I finished my drink and got the hell out of there. read more

First visit: 09/07/2015 Last visit: recently So most of the strip clubs that we have visited were all part of a top ten list that was written in 2013. So yeah, a little outdated, but it was all we had to go on. Sugar 44 was on that list and like all clubs in today's society, it has changed we are sure since that list came out and after the past few weeks....we basically stopped having expectations based off of that list.But this club was actually not bad at all.There was a random $8 a person door fee, which is not a bad price, just random. You walk in and instantly see the bar which is a full bar with what appeared to be two attractive female bartenders working hard. We aren't sure who the door guy was, but he was a good guy; asked us about our night and we had just came from a horrible strip club that shall remain nameless, and we let him know we wanted to end our night on a good note. He assured us that we would.The club was small: one stage which wasn't too big with a pole in the middle that was maybe 10 feet. Lots of seating for the most part around the stage area as well as seating at the bar. Then there were a few areas it seemed for VIP dances in a raised area to the right of the stage and in a private room towards the back of the club. We were mainly there to use the cash cannon on some ladies, so we did not get the private dance prices.The music was low, which isn't really a negative thing at all; it was nice to not have to scream to each other, but it pretty much allowed everyone in the club to hear what we were saying. lol.The high lights of the night were most certainly Tasha and Heather. Tasha was just all around a go getter on the pole and on the stage in general. I believe we cash cannoned her with $100 just on general principle alone because her pole skills were quite possibly top five of all of the females we have ever seen. I've been here dozens of times, but this is my first review. I lived right down the street for years and was able to walk to and from, which was a plus. I moved a few miles southwest, but the attraction is still the same....great drink prices, sexy ladies, and a great overall experience every time I go there. I've been going there since it was Bombshells, and I'm glad they haven't really changed the vibe. I will tell you that if you want Hustler model type models with fake boobs, go to Bourbon Street...if you want a small, intimate space with very attentive, alternative girls (ala Suicide Girls), then this is your place. The girls are awesome from that standpoint. Big fake boobs? No. Super approachable and tatted out? You betcha! And thats what I like, so thats while I will keep going here, and recommending this place to everyone as long as the dynamic remains consistent. I have been coming here for years. It's always been ok, but since the new owner has taken over, it's been great. Probably 90% of the girls are great. You always have those few that are pushy or ignore you for whatever reason, but that is any club. This review is directed more at a couple reviewers. I crack up that he says he has spent $10K here over the past 2 years, but is trashing your establishment. If he thinks it's that bad... WHY COME BACK? Just a thought. The other is the one complaining about Madison being an escort. You're complaining about it, but yet, to find her, you had to be looking at the escort section. Hmm.. It's ok for you to seek out hookers, but not for her to be one? If she is or isn't, that doesn't mean anything to the club. She's not doing it at the club. Why do you care? Or do you just want to complain. The place is very friendly. The other day, I was getting a double dance. Now a customer, who was obviously hoping to see one of the girls came over and asked if he could join us and buy us all drinks. While I thought it a little strange, the guy was nice and offered drinks (I drink coke because I was still working - Self employed), so I said sure. So, to the two guys complaining that management won't answer you, I say, why should they, unless you had a valid point. Complaining just to complain isn't worth the time to respond, because your mind is made up and you'll never be happy. And it was probably just a bad day for her. Otherwise, you wouldn't have been talking to her for 2 years without a complaint. Or maybe she was just tired of you BS and was done with your comments or attempt to date her. I'm going to throw out a little advice here first. A little common courtesy and polite compliments go a long way at this club. Obviously, its a business first, but since most customers fit the stereo-type than dancers do most of the dancers react very well to a few compliments to things other than their tits and ass. Likewise, asking for and respecting their boundaries will loosen those boundaries a lot more than pressing those boundaries. Look them in the face until you are getting the dance (what you want to see is closer for inspection than anyway). I had both girls that I bought dances from and girls I just happened to talk to comment on me being a gentleman. Two of the three I got dances from were more to the tune of "you have no idea how much I needed a customer like you tonight". Again its a business and comments like that are part of the sale, but I can tell you that I was pretty much invited past each girl's standard limit to their definite limit because I was respectful and made them feel appreciated for their work. Also, what's with tipping so much at the stage? I mean, if you bring a certain amount of money to spend (which is smart) they're going to get that money. Spend it on dances. You're going to tip for the dance anyway. While she is on stage just pick out something to compliment (interesting costume, her hair was done nicely, her act was particularly impressive). Near the end of her stage dance give her five ones in the hip of her thong, pay her the compliment and ask her "Do you think I could get a dance from you?" and smile at her face. Usually they will give lap dances in sequence of asked, but you will probably be most pleasant request and likely will get the best service. Its worth the wait. Plan on spending about $100 to $300 depending on if you get a few drinks and a few dances on the floor or a lot of drinks and dances in the VIP lounge (its elevated with a four foot wall that hides you from the crowd). You can get away with spending less. In the past I went with my girlfriend at the time and never went over $80. I'd only get one dance of course. The prices have seemed to vary just a bit, but last Friday it was an $8 cover, $6 bottles, $10 lap dances on the floor, $25 to have all night access to the VIP area, $20 for lap dances in the VIP area. I went on my own for the first time last Friday. I got the VIP access, about 7 bottles, 3 lap dances and two double lap dances. Obviously, I went towards the higher end, but I think I would have been happy with just the two double dances in the VIP area and less beer would have made the experience a little better, too. *note* bring as much money as you plan on spending, plus how much you're willing to spend. The ATM charges $8. There was one girl who was a particularly sweetheart and I went back for money twice. When they were closing down, I asked her if she'd give me one last dance. She looked absolutely elated and convinced the manager to have the DJ play another song. Keep in mind they can't sell alcohol at that point, so it was one part her enjoying my patronage and one part the club being good to their dancer. Also, as far as the club itself: It's clean. It's smallish. The area is decent. I've seen a guy or two kicked out, but reasonably so (one I know didn't pay for his last lap dance) and the bouncer managed to escort them out without a fight. The music isn't too loud to talk. The girls last Friday were all a 7 minimal, mostly 8s and 9s. I have seen one 6 there once. They tend to be white blondes, but there were a couple of other ethnicities. I saw Bs to DDs and both inked and untouched skin. Most of them were mid height to tallish last Friday, but I've seen short ones in the past. I'd actually rate the overall club a 4, but that 3 average seems a little ridiculous, so I'm rating it a 5 to offset. I'd rate the girl I got the most dances with a 6 (out of 5) though.
