Mavrix is a Bowlero establishment in Scottsdale. I stopped by on a Wednesday night for the arcade. Parking is easy in the huge lot they share with a bunch of other businesses. One of the main attractions at Mavrix is bowling. Another is laser tag. I passed on both and checked out the arcade instead. It was time well spent because it's a pretty awesome arcade. I've been to the Bowlero in North Scottsdale and it's smaller than this one. Here, you have a bunch of fighting and driving games, interspersed with carnival-style games. I played 10 or so games total in about an hour. Wednesday is a great day to go because the games are 50% off. I didn't come away empty-handed either. With the tickets I won, I redeemed them in their prize room. It's a pretty large room too, with more prizes available than the North Scottsdale location. While I didn't have many tickets, I had enough for two pieces of candy and a T-Rex toy. Outside of what I mentioned, Mavrix has plenty of areas to sit, including a full bar. I haven't had food or drinks here, but I did take a look at the menu and it's a pretty extensive one. Definitely nicer overall than your typical bowling alley. read more

It's definitely one of those all-in-one spots where you can bowl, play arcade games, do laser tag, and grab food and drinks all in one place. The vibe is super lively and modern, with a lot going on, so it's perfect for groups, date nights, or even just something different to do. The arcade had a good variety of games and the bowling area was clean and well set up. It's the kind of place where you can easily spend a few hours without getting bored. Food and drinks were decent--nothing crazy, but good enough for a night out. The menu has a mix of bar food, appetizers, and drinks, which makes it easy to snack while you play. But honestly, the service alone made me not want to come back. The bartender/waitress took our drink order and clearly made my boyfriend's drink stronger like noticeably stronger. I asked for the same thing at the same moment saying "she was going to hook him up " she didn't do it me, but still charged me the exact same price. That made zero sense and came off unprofessional, like she was more focused on him than actually doing her job fairly. It didn't stop there. My food came out soggy and borderline unappetizing, while his was completely fine. So not only are the drinks inconsistent, but apparently the kitchen is too. For how expensive everything is, you'd expect better service and quality across the board. The place looks nice and has a fun concept, but it's not worth it if the experience depends on who you are or how the staff feels that day. My sisters work had a Xmas party here so I got to tag-a-long. I've never been here so I was excited to check it out. Unfortunately I suffered from a pinch nerve in my neck/arm and couldn't participate in the bowling part which was a bummer. I'm not good anyways but it's always fun to play. Others definitely took advantage and had a lot of fun. One thing that was pointed out to me was how the pins are attached to like strings. That was a bit weird as I've never seen that before (idk if that's a new thing or what) but some of the other people who bowl regularly said it kinda messed with their game. As in some pins wouldn't drop when they would in a regular bowling game. I can't attest as I don't regularly play but it was interesting to hear. My sister and I definitely had a lot of fun playing the games though. Our favorites were Jurassic Park, Mario Kart and especially the car driving game. We had a lot of fun playing that one! I even got my name on the leaderboard! lol. Since this was a Xmas party, they had catered food. Staff were super nice and on top of getting drinks, service, etc. Restrooms were stocked and clean. They had signage, and they seem to have some great deals regarding food/play but unfortunately I live on the other side of the valley so I won't be a frequent visitor. We recently had my son's baseball team holiday/end-of-season party at Mavrix. It was a great choice for a group of kids. The boys were able to bowl, eat dinner, play in the arcade, and do laser tag, which kept everyone entertained. Since the party was during the week, it wasn't busy and the space is large so it never felt crowded. We were inside, but I also love that they have a big outdoor patio with large TVs. For food, the boys had pizza, french fries, and funnel fries, which was the perfect kid-friendly food. The funnel fries were a big hit, especially because they came with a side of chocolate dipping sauce. They also brought pitchers of lemonade, Sprite, and fruit punch, even though we had asked for root beer. The red fruit punch with a bunch of 10-year-old boys might not have been the best choice. The arcade was a lot of fun for the kids. Somehow they all managed to win a ton of prizes, including several giant bouncy balls, which made them very happy. It was nice not to feel like you spend a lot of money on arcade cards without the kids winning anything. They also really enjoyed laser tag. For the adults, I ordered the fish tacos and the buffalo cauliflower bites. The tacos were just okay, and the cauliflower bites were spicy, but that's to be expected with buffalo sauce. We did have to ask for water a few times before they finally brought over cups and a couple of water pitchers. Some friends ordered the nachos, and they were huge. Overall, the boys had an absolute blast, and there was plenty of space for everyone. It didn't feel cramped like some other indoor bowling and arcade places. So much fun!! I took my nephew for the day and spent hours here. Abi up front checked us in and was the absolute sweetest!! We played unlimited laser tag and bowling with the package we bought. First time at Mavrix for a business event. This is not the type of bowling alley that I remember. Guess I would describe it as a bowling alley, bar, restaurant, arcade, and a private event venue. They had a nice hosting space for events consisting of 8 bowling lanes, a bar set up, appetizers and a meeting room. Got a chance to look around and impressed with the amenities. I cannot remember the last time I had this much fun. This really was such a great time. We reserved a lane for 4 people. When I made the reservation I did not like that there was not a 1 hour option, since I knew there was no way we would play for 2 hours. But my goodness did we ever! 2 hours went by so quick and my party of 4 all let out a little cry when the screen said TIME UP. Lots of balls to choose from. Shoes fit great. We came for the laser tag and bowling and it was great! Laser tag games last 8 minutes and there are two teams. It was a lot of fun with the kids. I was blown away by the bowling balls...they have different size holes on each ball! One side would be medium, and switch it over and it had large or small on the other side! Silly thing to be excited about, but it was so easy to just use whatever ball you wanted and easily experiment with sizes and weights. It's a fun place to hang out and take the family. read more

We came here to initially play a round of bowling and go home. The man at the front desk talked us into the season pass which we can use in any state or Bowlero location. He upgraded us to the VIP area and gave us a free round of bowling with animations on the lanes for signing up. We weren't very hungry, but the menu had a lot of food including burgers, appetizers, wings and more. We ordered spinach dip which was delicious, and the right ratio of spinach to cheese. Our waiter was sweet, he was smiling and checked on us frequently. Many of the staff there wished us a happy Mother's Day, and our waiter offered to take our picture on a couch with a "I love mom" behind it for my family. The ambiance is definitely a plus. The place is decorated nicely, the bowling lanes are clean and new, the arcade area had all the games we were wanting to play like air hockey, ring toss, Skeeball, basketball, claw machines and the artificial reality games. Lastly the prize area had a lot of good prizes to choose from, but nothing really good to get unless you have over 1,000 tickets. Well my son thought the arcade at Mavrix was "Skibidi Sigma" which translates in his alpha gen vocabulary to be pretty great..with variety of fun entertaining arcade games..good working maintained VR arcade games as well.. decent prizes especially for the little 300 tickets my son earned from hour half hour play of the arcade games.. I am more for buying a bowling game per game versus hourly which is the only option provided at this location..price at around $50-$60 per person for 2 hours of bowling included shoes..and packages that include food options and arcade play..definitely great for bowling with a group for a determined amount of time like happy hour with coworkers events or gathering with friends.. Definitely recommend online scheduling as it seems this place gets quite busy and better rates/packages found online..then buying the items separately.. great big sports bar area to enjoy a great sports game watching outing with the crew.. First things first, the service was great. I was escorted by the manager on duty to my bowling lane and introduced to my server. The service was great and the food came out quick. The venue is amazing- everything is modern and very well designed. My date and I played some laser tag (fun even though it was just the two of us). We played arcade games like we were kids again and generally had a blast. Walked in and waited for a long time without being greeted or seated at the restaurant. Unfortunate, as this was everyone's first time here and looked like it had high hopes of being the best place to hang with video games, bar, restaurant, and stylish decor. At least 10 different employees walked by and didn't acknowledge us standing there as a group. Might help to have all employees work together, and even if you're in the front desk/bowling area, a greeting would be a good gesture. Sad, as many employees were standing around, but no one helped us. After a good while of looking around, we finally got seated. The menu was your standard bar foods. Nothing a dairy or gluten allergy person could consume at first glance. Menus were also not notated with any allergy notes, which I thought was more common nowadays. We felt bad and didn't want to dine there given the mediocre menu, and our choice was confirmed as walking out many plates were left half full, no fries touched on tables from recent diners. Guess it wasn't great. We left to find another restaurant, but we still tipped the server that dropped waters and the menus off. As usual, once we started bowling I forgot to take pix but I'll try to get some from the gang and post them later. We had a few starters in the restaurant first, quite spacious and many tables, high tops and regular, big enough for groups ; as there were six of us we had a large, comfy table with couch-like seating - I can't call it a booth because it was very comfortable and accomodated us well! Hubs and I shared a quite delicious Artichoke and Spinach dip, cheesy-gooey-good, that came with tortilla chips. Me being me, I just dug in with a fork because it was so good, and the chips were so thin they broke easily: not a crime but I was starving... Then we both had boneless wings: for me the Garlic Parmesan and for him the Sweet Chili and shared a side of Garlic Parm fries. I know our friends ate starters too but honestly I was so into my food I didn't pay much attention to their orders..oops. Our server Denise was super nice, helpful and very atttentive to my extreme allergy to capsaicin (in all peppers and chilies and some medicines) and made sure my food wasn't near any of the danger foods: thank you Denise !! It's always so great to have friendly and pleasant people around when going out for a good time ! The ambiance of the entire place was overall very chill and cheerful; the lady at the lanes who was on duty and brought us more drinks and food - sorry darling I didn't catch your name - was also very sweet and helpful, she came over often and we didn't ever have to wait to order, which was wonderful. I can't bowl if my life depended on it, but it was still fun and we had a great time. There's also Laser Tag, Go Karts, and all sort of fun arcade games to play, and a bar in the middle of them all. Super busy but still lots of fun! We have a big family so waiting for a table is normal when we go out and it was no exception here. As soon as we entered, we reserved a lane and headed over to grab a bite to eat. An enormous wedding party had just come through unannounced so the kitchen was shut down until they could catch up. It wasn't Mavrix fault. Just some thoughtless patrons overwhelming the facility and pushing staff to the limit. We ended up having just appetizers and drinks in the dining room since the kitchen stayed closed until our lane reservation. The upside was that they got food service going again shortly after we got settled into our game. Food on the lanes is brought to you by a lane server and was the same as the offerings from the restaurant. We had the pizza (surprisingly delicious), chicken strips (mid), spicy chicken sandwich (ok) and pasta (meh). The pizza was the hands down favorite. Presentation was lovely and the server provided everything we needed. There's even ice water in containers on the lanes for non drinkers which I appreciated. We got a cookie skillet for dessert and while my favorite is still the one at Fired Pie...this was pretty dang good. It took all 6 of us to finish it bc it was massive. We were really here to have fun though and for that, I'd say Mission Accomplished! The games were mostly all in working order and it was easy to find help when needed. Laser Tag was great fun for all ages and there were a lot of options for our bowling game as well. This is a great place to bring the family but keep in mind that a lot of other people are there to do the same. If you can accept that you aren't the only/most important person in the place, you can have a great time with everyone - including your family. read more

We have also spent time in the arcade and we enjoyed the selection of games they had available. The prize selection wasn't impressive so that was the only thing we were not happy about. I reserved a lane online and paid a $15 reservation fee, which was a little ridiculous, but I didn't want to risk it on a Friday night. When we arrived, the rate per lane per hour listed was $20 less than what I had prepaid online. So not only did I pay a $15 reservation fee, but I also ended up paying $20 more per hour than the rate posted at the venue. When I brought it up to an associate, he said it was because we booked online but the website clearly lists the reservation fee as a separate charge. This is a huge overbilling scheme. Do not waste your money, there's nothing to even justify the rate listed in the establishment, let alone online. read more

I've been to Mavrix countless times but just recently hosted a small gathering for my daughter's 10th birthday... It was planned mostly online and via email, but I admittedly would have liked a bit more of a personal touch... a phone call would have been a nice touch. Even so, everything went smoothly and the kids had a blast. We went with the bronze package and put some extra $$ on the gaming cards as the kids are just obsessed with racking up points for the gift shop, and the dollars go super fast! Had the impossible burger (Planter) at the bar area. The bartender was just a cool dude to talk to. Forgot his name but he was real nice. He knew his drinks and I asked him what was better the fish and chips or the planter burger. He checked to see what kinda fish was being served and gave his honest opinion which I always appreciate. Even recommended the provolone cheese on the burger which was the right call. Burger came out and was delicious. The environment was nice too, kinda chill, lots of screens, and clean. We absolutely LOVE Mavrix for family night or date nights! Compared to other similar facilities like Dave & Busters or Main Event, Mavrix is by far the best. We typically go during a time the unlimited activity passes are available. These include unlimited laser tag, bowling, and VR game play. If you want to play in the arcard then you do need to purchase an additional fun card to add chips to, however they typically have deals for this and are priced pretty competitively. Even the prize area seems to have more quality items for less tickets than other places. Overall it is much more clean and has way less games out of service than I've experienced at competitors. I also LOVE the food at Mavrix! Typically these types of places are known for mediocre food and drinks, but not Mavrix! The pizza is super delicious (and included as a HH special), the burgers are massive and yummy, and the fish tacos were ridiculously good. I've only had the margarita here, but it was super strong and tasty, plus on special :) They have a large dining area and a massive patio with a 100" screen with yard games and comfy lawn chairs. I'd love to check this place out again during a football game or any professional game for that matter. read more

It's been a while since I've bowled, and I understand that everything is pretty much higher tech now. Very nice place. Just didn't care for the bowling pins being on strings. Many in our group felt that I guess you can say, rigged our performance. Also, the two tables that split the lanes up, left very cramped quarters.
