My friend and I came here on a Sunday evening and it was pretty empty which was nice. The cashier/manager of the axe throwing was very friendly and gives an instructional how-to at the beginning so if you've never done axe throwing before (like us!) you'll be set. The axe throwing itself was a lot easier than I thought it'd be. They also offer the option to throw stars and knives in addition to the axes. They also offer food to be ordered and served from the O'Paddy's next door. There are bathrooms and plenty of parking. This would be a great place to come with friends (although it's only 2 people to a lane, there are many lanes). I'd come again! read more

This was my first time trying axe throwing, so I had no idea what to expect. My friend made a reservation for one hour of axe throwing for a group of six of us. We met up there about 30 minutes before our scheduled time to eat a quick dinner. They do not have food available, but you are allowed to bring in your own food. We brought in quesadillas from Dilla Libre, which is just across the street. After we signed in (and signed liability waivers!) we were given a lesson by a very patient female staff member. She was training someone at the time and they both provided feedback to all of us. They spent a lot of time making sure we somewhat knew what we were doing and explained all the axe throwing games that they have available. I was having a hard time getting the hang of the axe throwing, and another extremely patient and knowledgeable staff member came over and gave me some pointers. All of a sudden, his advice kicked in, and I was hitting the target. Whoo hoo! I would love to go back and try this again. They also have pool tables available and a full bar. read more

I've been wanting to try axe throwing for a while and finally had the opportunity to do so. I don't know why I procrastinated so long. Me and my family had a GREAT time!!! Check-in was easy, the venue was spacious and clean. I think we picked a good time to go as it wasn't crowded. We went at 2pm on a Sunday. Our coach "Noodle" was awesome!!! She seemed to enjoy her job. It was refreshing to work with her. She gave us our instructions and let us throw away. We tried axes, knives and stars. Came in on a Sunday afternoon. Walking in no one to greet you or tell you how to proceed. So, we went over to the bar. There has to be a bartender right? 15 minutes later, we stood there looking around for someone working. A group of 4 girls standing by overheard us looking for a worker and said " She's over there giving an axe lesson". Great! Thank you for that info. After about 15 more minutes. We were able to speak to the worker and she told us it would be at least another 30-45 minutes since we didn't have a reservation. Good thing there is a bar next door that has a great selection of food and drinks. We ended up next door instead. One person working the whole place. Again, I am not sure how one worker can do EVERYTHING. The stars are for the pool tables and the nice young ladies that gave us the rundown!!! I definitely wouldn't return without making reservations. read more

We came Saturday afternoon (day before Halloween) around 3:30-4pm before the rush so we had the place to ourselves. The staff was awesome, friendly, attentive and engaging. You can order food and libations and have them at your high top table at your axe bay. Cocktail offerings include: Local IPAS on draft, canned domestic, canned local craft beers, wine and ciders. Food offerings include: Bar food snacks, flat bread pizza, salads, burger or chicken fingers. An hour of axe throwing was plenty for our group who wanted to explore Old Town afterwards. Great experience and fun thing to do when you are hosting friends in town. The facility is unassuming from the exterior but very large and spacious inside. Very Clean! It was our first time going axe-throwing, and it sure was a lot of fun! I have nothing negative to say about BATL Axe Throwing, located in Scottsdale, Arizona. The employees and trainers were amazing. It was definitely worth the $50/per person for the hour of fun. The drinks offered at the bar were also great. Reasonably priced. After our hour of axe throwing, we had about 30 minutes before heading out to our next reservation, and we noticed a pool table. Unfortunately, the pool table only accepted coins (to release the balls), and no ATM was nearby. Who carries coins these days? An employee was kind enough to open the latch for us and even offered us multiple rounds if we wanted to. That shows how caring and considerate the employees are here. Although I was terrible at axe throwing, I got the hang of it towards the end and could see myself coming back here. If you're hesitant about visiting here because you're questioning your throwing abilities, please don't! This is an extremely friendly and inviting place with many newcomers scattered across the room. An absolutely perfect date night idea. read more

It was a great experience! Especially after a looooooooooong work week it was super exhilarating to "throw weapons at a wall" as someone said haha. The staff was super welcoming and sweet. Super helpful with coaching to help me aim and throw better. There was a moment where I couldn't get it at all on the wall. However, with a couple of quick tips BOOM bullseye! The tournament was super organized and fun, got to socialize and kick but as well. I would definitely bring a group here. I feel it is also a great team building activity. They serve drinks, but there food is ordered for next door and brought to you. They have pool tables for $1 a game. Very reasonable prices! The only thing I would change is to take the deposit out of the final bill. They charge we the full price and refunded my deposit separately which took 3-5 business days. read more
